They say there are 5 stages of grief - Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. You'll see Pam go through them - with some future fluff every other chapter to keep you from pulling your hair out. There will be 10 chapters in all. :)
10 I know that poor Pam has sunk into depression, but I'm still so happy! Knowing that it ends up alright is so comforting, and I'm so excited for how he reacts. Also, I think that her mother helping her to come to her senses is extremely plausible, if not probable. This is just so good!

10 Aw! Pam is getting back on my good side. The thought of Jim's father (dying? leaving?) when he was sixteen breaks my heart. This was wonderful. I absolutely cannot wait for the next chapter! I need to see how this all came to be. Don't keep us waiting for too long.
Author's Response: As I mentioned - I didn't want to get too much into it. I just knew that I wanted his father to be gone at some pivotal point in his life. You can fill in the blanks as you wish.

10 This was really funny in a sad, horrified sort of way, which is perfect. The tone is so Ryan, and it's just awesome. I loved this: "rumpled and drunk and apparently still appealing." Oh, you bet he is.
10 This just made me sigh happily. I love that he makes her feel safe, and she makes him feel whole. I love that you said "better than anyone" rather than "better than everyone." I love that this reminded me of the song "Us" by Regina Spektor. I love the whole paragraph about how and where they're connected, but it's too long to quote in this review. This whole thing was perfect and I loved it. But don't I love everything that you write?

10 So, while I was reading this, I was thinking of the little details that I would tell you that I loved, but as I got further and further I kept thinking that, and there were way too many perfect things for me to write or even remember. And I especially can't think of them what with all the crying that I'm doing right now. Thanks for that. The image of Jim crying in the airplane bathroom is actually kind of killing me, and the last few lines made me feel sick and awful.
This may sound like a bad thing, but trust me, it definitely isn't. Holy god, this was good. The tone was perfect, because I could feel the devastation. Jim in pain is maybe the worst thing ever.

10 Oh, god. It's so sad. My favorite part was probably Jim putting his hand behind her head so it didn't hit the wall. Even completely destroyed, it's such a Jim thing to do. The bitter part of me wishes that Pam had seen this so that she could hurt as badly as him.
Pam's been faking it. Roy asks Jim how to fix it.
10 Oh my god. It's so very Jim to be a big softie and help Roy like that. And it's hot that this implies that he's great in bed, haha. I'm not sure why, but I laughed until tears at "What the fuck?" This was so creepy, but great too. Nice.

There is a kind of art to them. (Jim and Pam and traditional glassblowing.)10 Oh my goodness, you definitely got a gasp from me when he sucked on her finger. This story has so many beautiful little details with the explanation of glass, and her not being able to last the full five seconds before holding his hand again. There are so many more, but then I'd probably just be recapping the whole thing. Amazing.
