Have I mentioned how much you rock? I wonder how many other people went with that obvious line to open their reviews? I should be more original but you rock sums it up. This was, as ever, brilliant. I could copy and paste but there's too much I love. I particularly love the beginning because Jim's reaction is just so freaking spot on how it should be. You can feel all the emotions passing through him in that little passage. And the end, it's frustrating and incomplete and exactly how these sorts of conversation do go. So perfectly Jim/Pam :)

I tried to leave a review here a few days ago but my laptop is dying a sad slow death so I don't think it posted. Apologies if this is a repeat.

I second what Pam said: aa89dpuahdui8hf
And to elaborate on that: lkdngiehr90t4njvk vergg!:fbnh943 :)
Translated from fangirl into english that says something along the lines of: you are amazing.

This was simply brilliant. i love (and I've been meaning to mention this a few times) that you've kept this tied in with the actual show to an extent, using some storylines and variations on the same lines but within your own narrative. I love that this was concluded via the chat as that really is what has brought them together throughout this story.
I adore the metaphor about looking through new lenses. Beautiful and very appropriate.
SO FANTASTIC IT DESERVES CAPSLOCK :)

Oh of course they went to Subway. Brilliant. Its little details like this that make this story so brilliant.
Thank you for a wonderful read :)

Author's Response: Thanks so very much. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

What if Pam refused to let Angela drop her off at home after the Dundies?

“I want to go to Jim’s,” Pam said, interrupting Angela’s thoughts.

Angela felt as though her head might pop off and land in one of her cup holders. Would the depravity of this night never end?

You have no idea how difficult it is to resist the urge to read the next part and just leave one review. You deserve two so here goes.

This is quite simply, brilliant. I've been enjoying this story but something about this chapter has updated my sentiment to loving it. The opening is so well expressed that even I was nervous reading it, wondering how this was going to go. I love that you slipped in a mention of worrying whether the new Jim/Pam couple would have the old Jim/Pam teasing fun friendship relationship because that's definitely something I think they would have worried about. And finally, this line killed me in the best way possible:

“It’s not stupid. We could just call a contractor,” he says matter-of-factly.
This prompted my response that's usually reserved for actual episodes: "Oh, Jim."

Author's Response: Awww, firstly, thank you for reviewing both chapters separately. That's just awesome. Secondly, the contractor thing seemed so Jim. Like, I imagined him actually running through a list of local contractors as she was talking. So I'm so glad you liked that bit :) Thirdly, you rock.

The world needs more rainbows and sunshine and stories like this. This was lovely. I love how you managed to get them to say these huge things in their own little roundabout way which is exactly what Jim and Pam tend to do. And I love that this ended with them being themselves, laughing and having fun together.

Author's Response: Thank shootingstars! I had to end on a light note, because that is Jam. They aren't dramatic or angsty, you know? Thanks so much for your reviews.

I've been reading throughout but I've only recently gotten an account so I'll start by saying the story so far is brilliant.
This chap? Perfect. Some of my favourite parts:
He immediately thinks, Oh my god, I have to tell Pam about this. And then he remembers. Oh yeah.
This is how I imagine s3 Jim spending a lot of his time. Poor Jim...

He means so many things with that please.

Please leave your deadbeat fiancé. Please be a little less amazing so I can stop loving you. Please kiss me again. Please stop hurting me. Please can we pretend for tonight that you aren’t engaged? Please be honest with me, just this once.

But then her eyes are wet, and he can’t stand to see it, so all he says is,

“Please don’t cry.”

Again... oh poor Jim. It kills me but I do love poor tortured!Jim.

Can't wait for more :)

Author's Response:

I think you're right about S3 Jim spending a lot of his time catching himself like that, shootingstars. And I'm really glad you like the "please" part, because that's my favorite part of this chapter :)

Thanks for the detailed review!

This was wonderful. It felt so natural and in character. And I love that Jim had the key made for ages, just waiting for a sign to give it to her. Brilliant

Hi, I'd like to place an order to delivery. One (1) Jim Halpert please. ASAP.
This is just lovely. Left a ridiculous smile on my face :)
This part especially was so brilliantly expressed:
How someone could manage to cram that much sadness and despair and the image of homeless orphans into a two letter word was beyond her. She was pretty sure he didn't do it on purpose, but just the way he'd let the h-sound linger in the air was like releasing a mushroom cloud of guilt on her shoulders.
It just sums up that feeling of Pam's of being completely unable to resist anything Jim does that even the word Oh has this major effect on her.
Just one typo I noticed:
Jim nodded, trying not as deflated as he felt., I'm guessing you meant not to look as deflated as he felt.
Thanks for a great read :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the typo notice - I can read something twelve times, then the minute I post it there's always one error!  So glad you liked it; I shall have to put the Halpert order on backorder until we can get the cloning process perfected.  I assure you it will be worth the wait, however!  ;-)

This is brilliant. I was a little unsure considering you said it was fluff and I don't generally associate this particular song (wonderful though it is) with fluff ... probably Grey's Anatomy's fault. However once I started reading everything fitted into place. There is some really beautiful imagery throughout and the song actually fits perfectly. Thanks for a great read!

Author's Response: Why thank you!!!! I hope it reads well...at first, I thought about the dark side of the song, but as soon as I thought of JAM, this sweet image came out. So, thanks for giving it a shot. Thanks!

As with your last chap, this is absolutely beautiful. I love this song too, probably even more than Keep Breathing. This is just so vividly expressed, and the attention to little details on your descriptions makes them really complete. Brilliant.

Author's Response: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Don-kah(that's German if you didnt know). You're reviews are always so nice....you're great! I pride myself in the fact that I can imagine whats going on and actually put it into to words (well, sometimes)....so, thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate it all. And, yes, I'll be doing more on this shortly. I love all of Ingrid's stuff...

oh and you're going to do "The Way I Am", right?! please....

Author's Response: Hahaha. Possibly. I could try to muster up something for that song. I think LoveFool has already done "The Way That I Am" in fic-form. So, you might do check out some of her newest fics. I know she's been inspired by Ingrids music this week too! So, somewhere between the two of us, you'll see a "The Way that I am" ficlet. :) THanks for reading!

This was so good it took me a few minutes to think up a way to even start this review. I cannot believe this is your first Office fic. Seriously. You have nothing to worry about with your grasp of the characters because this is, quite simply, perfect. Your grasp of Jim's fears particularly is so completely spot on. And the writing is beautiful. When I was reading the part about his little meltdown, I actually felt physically pained. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm also new to Office fic so Hello :) And I also used to write the odd bit of Alias fic back in the heydays of season two.

Now she’s standing on his doorstep and he just wonders how he can be so in love with a woman whose bare elbows still take him by surprise.

That might just be the best line I've ever seen to sum up Pam/Jim. Perfect.
You captured Jim's heartbreak so well, how he can't get past it because everything he is, is tied up with her.

The description of Pam's state of mind as she talks about leaving Roy - that sense of confusion, disbelief and some genuine regret, is spot on.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you think I'm on target with Pam's reaction here, because I really like your characterization of her.  It was such a strange chapter to write, because it's so hopeful for Pam and Jim, but also so so sad for Pam -- hurting Roy, the fallout from their families, changing everything she's ever known.  Yeah.  Good times.  Thanks so much for the review. :)
