They say there are 5 stages of grief - Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance.  You'll see Pam go through them - with some future fluff every other chapter to keep you from pulling your hair out. There will be 10 chapters in all. :)

This almost made me cry. Seriously, the 'this is why' part, when Pam was watching him...I saw it. It's so true, I can see him in my mind's eye being like that, just appearing in the world as that kind of person. It's amazing, because there are not that many real people like that in the world, I haven't found one yet. It would be a dream come true for me to find somebody, and I think that's why I love this show so much, because of Jim's character, and why so many other people love the show for the same reason. He is the ultimate dream guy, and not because he's cute and funny and charming, but because of those reasons that you just showed. Because he's just a beautiful person.

Thank you for writing this, really. You're doing an amazing job. :)

Author's Response: Aw. Thank you moirariordan.  I am fully aware that I myself am head over heels for Jim Halpert.  And if I can't have him - I'm going to make damn well sure Pam does.  LOL!  I'm so happy you liked it  Thank you so much for letting me know!

Wow. This makes a lot of sense as to the seemingly pointless rivalry between these two, on Michael's part, anyway. And it would explain why Michael makes so many divorce digs whenever he can. Poor Toby. And poor Liz, being groped by Todd Packer. And did I meantion that I love that you put Ed Truck in here?

Overall, awesome job. I really enjoyed this little backstory. :)

If this is what happens when your will power falters, than please, be a weak, self-serving coward because it rocked like whoa. Basketball fluff! :D

Author's Response: Ha! Thanks, moirariordan! I'm sure there's more spineless fic in my future :)

This is my response to today's Jim/Jan challenge. Cough. I fully blame nomadshan -- she started it!! Or was it Morning Angel?

In either case - you're both awesome. :O)

That was hilarious. I adore Creed. I find it awesome how you had him change his story each time to fit each person. It's just bold and obvious enough to work. :D Nice job.

This is so sad. We are so totally like the crazed fans that keep popping up here, with our fanfiction and blogs and spelling 'ever' with an 'a'. If I were someone else, I would be so annoyed by me.

I'm really excited that you continued this. It's like, the ideal direction for the show to take post-Casino Night, plus Jim and Pam fluff is always appreciated. And Katy! Poor, popular, misguided Katy. And Roy with a goatee. Ha.

Awesome work, it was golden. :D

Ouch. Oh, ouch. Ow, ow, ow.

Okay, I applaud you for taking on a story like this. It's gotta be hell to write, but the fact that you're doing it is so cool. Stories like this are what makes this fandom so amazing, for me, anyway. This prologue was so heart wrenching, just that image of Jim gathering his courage and voicing the question, and then Pam walking away with no words...oh, man. So good.

But, still. Ow!

Author's Response: It is really painful to carry sad Jim around in my head which is why I'm inflicting him on all of you! Thanks for your kind words and I'll try to find a remedy for your "ouch".
