I enjoyed it - it was very sweet! I like how Pam was unapologetic about how she got into the slammer. Though when I have gotten that drunk (if memory serves, since I'm supposed to be an adult long past fraternity parties) being sick generally followed, to my great disappointment...guess I'm just jealous of non-barfing Pam. Yikes. You are definitely taking us into new and scary territory here Wendolf! And not least because it makes so much sense...the picture you've painted here rings very true to what has been happening in the writers' minds, I think.

You've crystallized my uncertain feelings about what could happen for JAM in S5 - and now it seems like this is all that really CAN happen.

On a side note: thank you very much for making your Emily tall. (I'm a tall one myself though I no longer pull off the "slender" thing, sadly)

Wow Colette - I've gotta join the chorus of reviewers singing your praises. I just read over some of your older stories and they are terrific. I love this story and the bittersweet scene of the party. All during S3 I hated how things were so angsty - yet I have to admit it had its brilliance. Those scenes of Pam and Jim so distant, so sad or angry, stick in my mind so vividly.

Pam's little homely pot is such a good metaphor to Karen and everything she is. But I wish I could see it! Any chance of a visual?

Glad you thought the pot worked as a sort of metaphor - sorry though, I don't have a visual to share (but, sshhh...don't tell, but the pot I described is a lot like one I made as a teenager, that my mom still has.) I'm glad you're liking this story, too.  I'm not forgetting Cardiac Care.  I promise I'll get back to it.

Gifts was originally supposed to be a one-shot.  We were stuck in traffic to the Bay Bridge after that horrible accident on Sunday.  I was toying around with ideas, trying to think of something I could get up and finish in a single chapter.  And I guess I could've just kept it all on my hard drive until I'd finished it but these seemed like logical chapter endings to me.  Anyway, I will write a couple more chapters for this one and mark it complete.  Then I'll be back at Washington Hospital Center...

OK yeah...grrreat story...um, there was this other story I was loving...I think it was called Cardiac Care? Killing me with that one VB.

Thank you for the little nudge, MCC!  I'm not forgetting Cardiac Care.  This story was supposed to be a quickie but it keeps growing on me!  I think it'll be done in a couple of chapters and then I'll get back to the first one.

That...was...awesome!! You built the suspense so beautifully. However you are a tiny bit of a tease to omit the sleaze (I was going to say smut but rhyming won). I am so glad you finished it, and it was really a treat. Love your stuff - keep it coming!
