I have to let you know how much I'm enjoying this story. I love the role reversal and how we see Pam eating her heart out over Jim. Really, I want to see this series last for a long, long time. I'm enjoying your take on their relationship a lot. I can't articulate it very well but it has a gentleness and sweetness to it and want it to continue for as many chapters as you have in you.
Jim coming to the realization that he's falling for Pam and that's she more than just his friend is something that I can't wait to read but I don't want it to come too fast. Are you seeing a trend here? lol

I am the lover of the one shot, but am unable to resist the lure of shenanigans. So more please. This had a wonderful balance of sweetness and mild angst. Poor Pam. I'd love to see Jim introduce her to the concept of it's fun to get married.
The car analogies were fantastic, btw and even if it's only a one shot you've left me satisfied and smiling. ;) Well done.

I like how you got Pam to end it right away with Roy...and seriously how clueless Roy is not even suspecting Jim when he was right there in the apartment.
I enjoyed your fade to black after the last chapter and how you got Jim and Pam to interact after their night together. Believable dialogue not sappy at all.
There's a really great flow to your story. As always, loving it!

And because of this, he thinks it\'s totally innocent between them, and even thinks maybe Jim\'s taking pity on her? I know I\'ve never explicitly said any of this, but that\'s my backstory and I\'m stickin to it!\r\n\r\nI\'m really glad you think the dialogue is believable and the flow is good. What a fantastic story. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this particular bit:
"Sometimes at night, when they lay close together like this, she'll reach for his ipod off the bedside table. With an earbud in his ear, the other in hers, she'll scroll through a shuffle of his music, even though they both know exactly which songs they return to every evening. He'll wait for his ear to fill with the simple melody of meandering acoustic guitar; music she playfully complains about in the car, deeming it his "artsy emo music", though eagerly seeks out only for these moments."
The visual of it I found so true to character. I could totally imagine them sharing music in bed this way. You made a wonderful little picture in my head that got me through work today. It got me thinking about a bunch of scenarios where they'd share the Ipod. So thank you for that.

This will be a series of self-contained chapters (oneshots) exploring various "what ifs" pertaining to episodes spanning seasons one through three. Each chapter will examine how things would've gone differently if either Jim or Pam had responded to a given situation the way that (most) fans had wanted or almost expected them to.
For example, the first chapter focuses on how things would've happened differently if Jim had confessed during those twenty-seven seconds of silence on the booze cruise when we were all holding our breath and hoping he would.
Among the other chapters I have mapped out: What if all the reminders of Jim in "Gay Witch Hunt" had provoked not a small, sad smile from Pam at the end of the episode, but rather, had motivated her to take action -- drive to Stamford to see him for the first time in four months? Or what if Jim had responded to Pam's text in "Diwali" via a post-Jagermeister phone call? What if Jim had walked in on Pam crying at the end of "Back From Vacation"? (...You get the idea.)
Again, though, each chapter will be confined to an episode, so it will essentially be a series of oneshots that are unrelated to each other.

This has been a wonderful read. Very difficult at times because of the raw emotion but real all the more for that. I've been enjoying it. Will there be more chapters? I hope so.
Author's Response: There may be. I didn't want people to feel that there wasn't a real resolution here. But it did take me two months to write this, so I just wanted to be sure people knew that if there is more, it will take time. You have a really great handle on the dialogue. Very natural, very true to character. I liked your story, I hope you decide to do Cugino's. :)
Author's Response: Thank you! The thought had occurred to me to do Cugino\'s, but I fear it\'s been done to death, and much better than I could ever do. Still, if these two don\'t stop talking in my head I may just have to get it all down or they\'ll drive me crazy.
