Bio:
After being raised by feral dogs deep in the heart of Appalachia for my first 17 years, I rescued a group of imperiled socioanthopologists from certain doom at the hands of some moonshiners in an undisclosed mossy holler of my homeland. Silly with gratitude, they taught me to read and eventually, to make letters with a pencil. I'm continuing that learning process by writing fan fiction here.
As you can see, I'm still having trouble with run-on sentences and cliches. Yet I've come so far.

Oh, and I love music - especially jazz.

I'm going to consider this the real continuation to that episode. The voices are pitch perfect. You captured Jim wrestling with his genuine desire for Pam to follow her dream vs his own needs and insecurities, and Pam realizing that NY and the high life might be overrated. Then they both find the comfort they need in each other. So wonderfully done.

This was wonderful on all counts, and your insight on Andy was particularly great. However, I must make a confession: I was so disheartened to read this. I have been toying with writing a story about the parking lot scene for awhile now, and you've gone and said everything I wanted to say about it, only much better and more succinctly than I could have: "But in his heart of hearts, what Jim really wanted even more was for her to need him as much as he needed her."

To me, this is the essence of this whole Jim/Pam storyline. Jim would have been happy forever just knowing that Pam loved him, and he didn't question that. But when she shows up in the parking lot, he knows that she needs him as much as he has always needed her, and their relationship is fully and completely realized. She needs him, and that is what, deep down, he has always dreamed of. She is his, finally.
You've expressed this cleanly and beautifully.

Ah, great job. Thanks for revealing the conversations we never got to see that would make Pam's acceptance of the house believeable.

Paper Jam, this is a perfect Dwight and Angela, well done. The last line made me laugh out loud - that little smile. Good stuff.

What an interesting way to tell this story - loved a lot about this but especially the simultaneous written scenes, the call backs such as "never give up" woven in, Jim and Pam's comfortable intimacy...and your Dwight is just perfect.

Oh, I loved this. This was one of my favorite Jim pranks ever, and reading a believable and well done backstory made it even better.

I love everything this chooses to be. All of these are wonderful, but the Pam story really touched me. You can see the crack in her confidence starting right there.
Dwight was perfect as well. We can see his blind allegiance to Michael in its bud.
It's nice to see a kinder more humanizing treatment of Meredith, and then there's Jim, trying not to be exceptional.
Lovely, just lovely.

I'm so glad you wrote this from Karen's POV - it gives me some Karen closure as well. She wasn't a bad kid, she just wasn't right for Jim. And it is better to lose to something real...
Well done.

Oh I love these verbal dances between Jim and Pam, and anything that deals with the whole "silence" gap when Jim went to Stamford. Their voices are perfect - I especially loved the conversation on the phone in the car - pitch perfect.

Author's Response: I was just saying - I work really hard at making them sound just right and I love it when I find out that people think I've succeeded.  Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me so!

"Stay, little valentine...stay...." One of the most beautiful songs ever written and very appropriate for this story.
This was a lovely exploration of their Valentine's history, and the ending was perfect. (I think you wrote a very interesting twist about the Karen VDay) Proving again that Jim and Pam just plain fit.

This is so sweet - and a great version of what might have happened that night. I loved Jim's travels through Pam's things in her desk, complete with mementos from before she was supposed to care. And I love that Pam worries, Jim worries that Pam worries, and neither of them admits it to the other.

It's scary how well you channel Michael, and Pam's reactions are pitch perfect as well. Very cute.

I loved the delicate balance you struck here, with Pam knowing he said something but letting it slide. Two other things I must know: Was the "anything" a shout out to Canary? And was this She sighed, "I like it too," and bit down on her bottom lip as she lowered herself onto his lap. She looked like a woman with the world at her fingertips. He loved that look. the same look Pam had right after Jim laid one on her in Job Fair?
Wonderful story.

Nice job - I liked the crew POV idea. (and that they finally got a less chaste kiss) However, I'm not sure why this is, but my favorite part was when Jim was so pleased that he made Angela laugh.

Aw, man, the Michael bits killed me in this - much like Michael eating his sandwich by himself "just like dinner" did in that one episode. One of the beauties of the Jim and Pam relationship is that the both realize how easily it could have been differently, and how lucky they are, and you've done a great job highlighting that here.

Summary: "Like all Mondays, they took separate cars because Pam had her art class across town after work. Like all Mondays, Pam dropped the kids off at Jim’s parent’s house in the morning and he picked them up in the evening. But today was not a regular Monday—as Jim would soon discover." After an unexpected occurrence, Pam finds herself falling in love with her husband, Jim, all over again.

I really enjoyed this - you have Toby in a nutshell in these. I can also feel his ex's frustration with his passivity. Interesting backstory on that you've created. Also,I absolutely loved this description: "Dorothy was okay, but not especially kind. She had lipstick on her teeth and a blunt way of speaking" I "knew" the character right away with this simple explanation. Excellent!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! It was fun writing so many new characters (Dorothy, Shannon, Cathy, Lola, the parents). I\'m so glad you enjoyed this!

You really created a mood, and I was totally with it until you mentioned seahorses. And then all I could think about was ovipositors and brood pouches. *grin* Still, nicely done.

Author's Response: You know, I actually wrote the seahorse wallpaper detail weeks before seeing the movie (just seemed nautically tacky, lol.) When I saw that scene, I thought of changing it, but I figured what the hell - it might give you nuts a chuckle. Thanks for reading, jazzfan!

I love reading Drunk!Jim fics because you never know quite how far his guard will go down. I really enjoyed this one - the title was perfect for what she was doing to him. This was my favorite part:
Roy," she says flatly, her finger still hanging in the air.

"An impression of Roy?" he asks, eyes darting toward the window as if he might walk in and discover their cove.

"Yeah, dare you," she replies, her eyes sparkling with the random colors in front of them. Her eyes sparkle anyway when she wants to smile and just can't hold it in. He tries to watch her eyes when she mentions Roy's name, wondering if they brighten up like she can't get enough of him. Like she loves him senseless. He wonders, drunkenly, how much she loves him. If she knew the extents that love could reach, even if the person on the other end had no idea.

She has no idea.
