Well I'm here for this! No idea what you'll do with their friendship or Jim or any of it but it's a great twist on a standard (what if X found Pam crying instead of Dwight) that I somehow haven't seen before. Excited to see you do it!

This was very inspired by the podcast and by rewatching season 3 and realising that, yeah, as much as I love him, Jim is a bit of an idiot here.

Welcome back! Casino Night, always a font of angst, but I like what you've done. I'm a big fan of using Pam's POV on Roy immediately after CN for stories, and I like how you're positioning her here.

Author's Response: Thank you! I have always wondered what Pam did and felt right after CN and how she saw maybe saw Roy differently after.

I'm glad you went Pam pov here. It really worked for pulling us into her side of the emotions. And it gave us Jim being a dick without his self justification.

That was a bit of a jump: when did he hear about Pam? I feel like knowing how long that took might be important. But this does do a good job of introducing Karen here.

Author's Response: I think I just knew I had plenty of sad coming, so I rushed it. You’re totally right, and I think I could have fleshed out his feelings while he was in Stamford a little better.

Oh this was a good chapter. Nice work on the angst especially for Jim as he's trying to move on.

I like this version of the conversation. It always bugs me that he doesn't explicitly tell her personally, and this helps.

Well my fave part was cardboard Dwight but the voicemail was a closer second than I expected. Lovely ending, thanks so much for sharing this story!

Oh, a Larissa appearance? Awesome. One of my favorite characters to play with. Really liked your take on her. And now the Karen card is out in the open ... Enjoying this a lot, keep it up!

Author's Response: Thank you! I’ve never written her into a story and it was really fun to explore her instant friendship with Pam as well as her relationship with Jim. I really want her to make another cameo somewhere in the story. ;)

Again, that's an excellent last line. I was kind of hoping Margaret was like "actually, I know who you are" but I do think your version is better. Thanks for sharing, this is a really fun story!

Ah, yeah, that's good stuff. Very nice combination of self-justification that COULD be accurate but isn't alongside just enough clarity about Jim's POV on this that makes it clear we are in canon angst for him already.

And I love Larissa the theoretical physics major as a threat for Roy.

Making sure I reflected that differing perspective between the Pam that's just so thrilled she's connected with someone that she can't even stand it AND THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT'S GOING ON and the Jim whose heart is cracking just a little more every day was a big part of why I wanted to write this. It's actually hard to imagine two characters in The Office who have less interest in dealing with each other than Roy and STEM Genius Larissa.
