EEEeeeeeeek!  BAD WOLF!!

Uh, what was I going to say?  I love that psychic paper doesn't work on Dwight.  I love that Donna's his best mate.  I love that Creed's totally down with the technobabble - while eating a tomato.  But mostly?  BAD WOLF!!!!!

Author's Response: eek! you reviewed!! yay! I was maybe a little paranoid that you didn't like this chapter. :) and now I'm totally haven't writer's block on the next chapter. I promised myself the story would only be one more chapter but I can't seem to tie it up neatly! It is just not working yet. But I promise I'm working on it!

Wow.  I'm stunned by this piece.  It's truly amazing.  Poor Mose.  You are doing an astounding job of illustrating the weirdness and fear and wonder of a child in a new setting - particularly with language and cultural barriers a-plenty.

Author's Response: Thank you! I had a little trouble finding the right tone/POV at first, so I'm glad it works!

I think what's most amazing about this is how thoroughly you're painting life on the Schrute Farm.  We've heard passing mention about so many of these people but not they've been given form and it's so real.  Not only that, but you're managing to explain Mose's...Moseness!

Author's Response: I may have spent way too long thinking about Mose. It was like stepping into his world for a while, and once I started looking around, I actually had to start cutting stuff from the fic, there were so many weird things to share!

Holy crap.  That is so awful and brutal.  I love the happiness that Mose found with Cecilia.  I love that he's such a natural at language.  But wow.  Such tragedy for one human.

Author's Response: Haha, I'm glad you kept reading after that heartbreak!

I'm trying desperately hard not to start bawling while sitting here at work.  This was one of the most amazing pieces I've ever read.  Just...the utter peace and happiness given to Mose at the end.  I mean, I was fine with the Dwangela wedding as a happily ever after - and then you made it even more magical!  Truly wonderful work.

Author's Response: Wow, I'm glad I could touch you so deeply! (TWSS?) Thank you so much for your kind words, belsum.

I like it when fluff can effectively straddle the hot/sweet line.  This did so very well.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you thought so. I have no problem with smut whatsosever, but personally I like the challenge of writing emotion and feeling without being graphic necessarily. To me, its more difficult then describing how Pole A inserts into Slot B (TWSS). Either way, thank you for reviewing, I appreciate you taking the time belsum.

I don't think it's implausible at all actually.  It's seems like the kind of thing that Michael Scott would do!  Honestly though, and this is why we love the show, Jim is right:  This can only end badly.  Heh.

At least fic gives us nice things, since the show won't!  I loved the image of illuminating without apology and was completely taken with the idea of the other half of the sigh.  It should be interesting to see how close this is to what we will (hopefully) learn about Holly in the new season.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you liked those parts of the story, belsum. I'm not quite sure what we're going to learn about Holly this season, but I hope it's a lot. Sadly, I don't think that's going to happen though, which is one of the reasons I was motivated to write this. Thank you for taking the time to review, I appreciate it and your kind words.

That was gorgeous.  I like the sadness of all three of them.  The struggle to keep up appearances and the subtle failures to do so.  Your Karen felt very true to her portrayal on the show, with none of the fic cliches I so often encounter.  And that Jim kept the pot was the perfect ending, so bittersweet and full of hope.

Author's Response: Glad you found Karen's portrayal accurate here - in fics, I often find her drawn as either the cool goddess who made no mistakes, or conversely, as the evil heartless minx from Central Casting. But, I thought she was simply a normal woman, with both strengths and insecurities, dealing with a lose-lose (lose) situation. Also pleased the ending came across as bittersweet, but still hopeful...that was exactly the tone I felt on the show, at that point in S3. Thanks so much for your thoughtful review, belsum!

I love that this piece is dialogue-free until the end.  That really helps with the magic in phrases like "the millionth whisper from the universe telling him to never let her go" and 'it would sound silly to call her “enchanting,” or “effulgent,” or “vitally necessary for every breath I take.”'

Author's Response: Oooh, really? I struggled with that, because I felt like I went from very whimsically descriptive to talky-talky, and I couldn't figure out a way to balance it out. So now I'll just trust you that it works OK! Thank you, as ever.

I actually read your reviews first, and then went back to reread this story.  I'm so pleased that the realism is appreciated.  And that someone else felt your hint that perhaps graphic design isn't actually the best outlet for her artistic talents!

Author's Response: So you decided not to cut-and-paste your e-mail? Hee. Thank you so much for re-reading, that means a lot to me. As you know, I was uncertain how the "realism" would go over, so I too am pleased. Thanks for giving me the thumbs-up to post this!

Fascinating look at the start of filming.  I love how the crew already had some insight into Jim and Pam and went in with the intent to focus on that.

Author's Response: Thanks for your reviews, belsum. Since the crew seemed to be onto them from the first episode, I figured there had to be some backstory there.

This one strangest hit home in a couple of odd places for me.  The line "the only door that was ever hers alone" really did because I can relate to that.  And now the sleeplessness of pregnancy.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it, belsum. There was some pretty personal stuff in there for me, too (including one of the things you pointed out).

xoxoxo joked in her latest fic intro that there should be a subgenre of laundry fic.  I propose that there should be a subgenre of Secret Santa fic dealing with The Card.  This was spectacular.  I had no idea that's where you were heading with this one.  There were a lot of lovely little turns of phrase, like the "inexact science of box layers".  And I love the word "ephemeral".

Author's Response: Cardfic, yes. Especially cardfic that doesn\'t include the contents of the card - sweet, sweet torture. I\'m glad you liked it, belsum. Thank you for your review.

I think one of the nice subtle things about this is the truth about the beginning of a relationship.  Sure, there's the whole "a cheater always cheats" element.  But moreso there's the unsureness and lack of trust that you can't have when you're first starting out.  So hurtful things are said and done.

Author's Response: Thank you. Yeah, I think they would have had a lot of that to work out, after the rocky start they got. Thank you very much for your beta skillz, and for taking the time to comment! You know I appreciate it!
