This oneshot is based on a prompt at TWoP to write a fic based on a screen shot from Gay Witch Hunt showing that Jim has a note stuck to his monitor reading, "Smile!" This is what I imagine he was thinking when he looked at it. Oh, so, spoilers for Gay Witch Hunt, sort of.
I'm so glad someone wrote a fic about the Smile sticky. The sticky seemed like such a minor detail, but it really says a lot about Jim's state of mind in S3.
Love this part:
He just wants to forget, to smile and mean it, or to not smile and have no one notice. The person who’d notice his missing smile and try to bring it back is…not here. He looks at the note. He keeps practicing.
So good. I'm so glad he doesn't have to practice anymore! Yay.

I'm really enjoying the alternating POV. Love the small moments between Jim and Pam, and really who doesn't love that? Sorta disappointed they don't get to bunk together, but hey, it's early in the story. Heh. Plenty of time to get Meredith drunk and passed out somewhere, not in their room. Hehehehe.
Seriously though, great story. Love the characterizations. Can't wait to see where you're taking us all with this.

Aw, thank you! And yeah, I kind of hated to not have them bunk together, but I couldn't come up with a plausible scenario in which they'd actually end up assigned to the same room. That said...well, there are ways around everything, and we fanfic writers are pretty crafty at finding them, hee.

While MTT was down for a brief time one night, I wrote a couple 55 word fics in the TWOP thread about Jim and Pam reading fanfic. I will likely continue this as a long running series, referencing my favorite stories and also newer stories as they come about.

This is great Moxie. I really enjoy reading your stories because they read so true to the characters and what is happening (or hopefully will happen) on the show. I can definitely see how dealing with the camera crew would add to their in-office tension.
