I think it's a bit OOC, but you take care of that really by mentioning it up front, kind of a "slightly off character disclaimer." I think that's a sensible thing to do with some stories, and especially preferable to just writing OOC with no thought or care as to whether it is OOC.  I'm sure we've both seen some of that.

I like that this is happening when she's at Pratt.  Living in NYC for a few months actually should change he a little bit anyway; she'll be a bit more worldly perhaps, and certainly exposed to more types of people than ever.

I like that she leaves him cigarettes and he has the impression she'll visit again.  It sort of proves the truth in "Oh, haven’t you heard? I’m too nice to hate anyone."

There are so many great touches here, like Pam accusing Jim of being drunk and then hearing "snorkel shot!" from the boat's interior.  Roy triumphantly saying that she was the one delaying this time is pretty amusing.  CLUELESS! ;)

How I wish Jim had confessed earlier.  Barring that, how I wish that Pam had found her bravery sooner.  But at least it's nice to read about.  I look forward to the other chapters.

Nice job, bebitched!  A little sad, but I think Jan's life has been a bit sad like this.  I was very glad when you revealed who the bride was at the end.  That would be a good ending for Michael, I think; and the alternative is not a good choice! 

Thank you for writing about non-JAM characters; sadly, it's not the way to get a lot of reviews, but I'm glad there are people who still do it.

Verrry good!  I think you're spot-on for how Jim would be feeling and acting at this point.  I'm so glad you have this basically written so I know it won't be a long time before I find out what happens next. :)  YAY!

KEV!  I've thought about you alot lately as my commas runneth over on this piece.  I'm trying to learn to put a period and start a new sentence :-)

I'm happy Jim seemed right to you, I stress the most about his chracterization.  But I do think, given what he's said on the show, Stamford was a time of GREAT depression for him, so I thought I would right it that way.  Yes, and for once, I'm not teasing everyone, I do have it mostly finished, but for a wee little epilogue.

I really liked this, especially Jim's letter and the funny little bits (Esteban and the mom haircut.)  Question:  If you don't know what a mom haircut is, does that mean you might have a mom haircut, because, er... never mind. ;)

Teeny typo in the second sentence - she SAT down with a thud.

I love the idea that Jim would send the two boxes with different things for different test outcomes.  That's fantastic and original, and I imagine that idea came to you in a flash and caused you to write this.  Whatever was the inspiration, I'm glad you had it.

Wild!  It's sad to think that Pam would still be unhappy and would ever again get engaged to someone who she later realized she might not want to marry!  But you did a really good job telling the story.

I like Ryan's dismissal of Jim's choice of how to propose.  Imagine if you had known that it was in the rain at a rest stop!  Ryan would have had even more to mock. ;)

Nice job.  I liked Pam's relationship with Ryan's friends also.

I think it's so poignant how he keeps buying her presents but knows not to send them.  The year he forgets is so bittersweet to me.

What a nice story, MA!  I haven't really been reading much fic lately (okay, almost no fic), but I always like the "how could things have been different" stories, and when you mentioned it was post-Diwali, well...you had me at post-Diwali.

It's just as well.  Michael couldn't be lucky enough to find two women who appreciate him in such a small amount of time.

It's good to see you writing, and to see an ancillary character get some attention.  Plus it made me come to the fanfic site for the first time in a while.
