Okay, this is post Stamford (sort of) and is a little AU, given that we now know Jim and Pam have talked a little. It's a bit angsty, but I swear, I was absolutely seized by the urge to write this! It's based a little on some of the comments I read on Live Journal yesterday re: Jim as "a man with needs." Heh. That makes this sound as if it's going to be a pile of smut, and it's not. It'll just be a slightly different Jim - totally drunk!Jim.
Jonathan makes an appearance as well.
And for those of you who are concerned - remember, my fics always end with a happy Jim/Pam. :o) This one probably won't be as long as the others have been; I'm thinking it'll maybe be a two-parter.

Is it a homage, is it a tribute or is it just that I am not very good at thinking up original plots? Whatever, this story is 'inspired' by Jane Austen's Persuasion and is meant to have a similar mix of melancholy and hope. Set after the rumoured merger of the branches (spoilers up to Grief Counselling), Michael organises a bonding exercise adventure and Pam has to deal with seeing Jim again - and with his attentions to Karen. But if you've read Persuasion, you might guess that someone is heading for a fall ...

I'm kind of glad you DIDN'T include the songs... I loved this chapter and need you to update ASAP!! I sometimes find song lyrics distracting and this chapter stood very well on it's own!

No, thank you for the video. I don't watch American Idol, so I have no idea whether or not that Daughtry guy is a massive tool; all I know is that the song just would not leave me alone (sort of like what you said). And I loved what you did with it in the video.
