Brilliant.  Thanks for the laughs.

GUH.  Killing me in the way you do so well.  I love, love, love that you went back to the Roy days.  You bring the angst so well, and that was certainly an 'angst era.'  So wonderful and looking forward to more.

Author's Response: I cannot tell you how much of a thrill it is to hear you say that you're glad I took it back to the Roy days!  I'm a glutton for the angst - always have been - but given the semi-resolution we got with this year's finale, I see exploring the pre-camera days as something bittersweet.  Really appreciate your review (and am off to read your latest in a sec!)

Really love having them in this other environment.  It makes it all the more intimate(if that makes sense)and I can really see the surroundings as I read this.  Wonderful job and looking forward to more!

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks so much!  The idea of them being away from the office for an extended period of time (i.e. a retreat like this) and that sort of throwing them into a completely different realm emotionally was the basic concept around which the rest of the story sort of evolved.  (And that was, I'm sure, the most awkward sentence ever written.)

So glad you're enjoying it - and more's on its way (will be updating in about an hour or two) --

Thanks for reviewing!

EVIL!  I look forward to your description of what Jim is wearing as he's standing there in front of her:)  Another great chapter...these two just kill me.  In a good way, of course.  Looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

Hahahah!  You know me too well, my dear -- I relish describing what he's wearing and how sexy his forearms look, LOL.  Actually, I will say this: There's a brief mention that was totally, shamelessly sparked by the whole Happy Trails thing in LtW that everyone was all a-squee over in the JK thread, hee.

So glad you're enjoying it -- more's coming soon.  Thanks again for reviewing!

Using a U2 song I adore for the title of the chapter, and then punching me in the grief bone in said chapter?  Bravo!  Amazing work, as usual.  I could just feel the sadness and frustration on both of their parts.  I think I need a drink!

Author's Response:

Isn't that song amazing?  I've already used it for the title of a fic last fall; otherwise, it'd have been the title for this one as well!  The next chapter will also take its title from a U2 song (as will the spinoff story, now that I'm thinking about it, hee).  Bono's a freaking genius.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review!  *raises cyberwine* Cheers! :o)

Le sigh.  You integrated this perfectly with what we saw on screen.  Amazing!!!!  Perfect execution.  Am I looking forward to the continuation in a different direction?  Of course.  But this definitely left me satisfied and smiling.

Author's Response:

Yay!  I'm repeating myself in these responses, I know, but honestly -- I was so worried people would read this ending and be kind of..."meh."  It's a little anticlimactic, I suppose, but I was so taken with the notion of exploring how the events in this story could work with canon.

It's also a thrill to hear people say they're looking forward to the AU version, because let me tell you -- I am loving writing it! :o)

Thanks, as always, for reviewing!

Oh, Roy!  So glad to see an update on this:)  The tension between Jim and Pam just breaks my heart, and you bring the angst like no other.  Also love when those Halpert boys get together:)  Looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

It always makes me kind of squee (I can say that without losing credibility, right?  I mean, we're not on TWoP....) to hear (ur, read) people say that they like the Jim/Jonathan scenes.  I've got a ridiculous soft spot for them -- a total weakness.  :o)

Seriously, though -- glad to hear you're enjoying this.  :o) Thanks for reviewing!

"Can I kiss you for a little bit?"  Oh, boy.  That should win Fan Fiction Question of the Year.  Good grief that was hot and lovely.  Beautiful, realistic story that keeps them in character and plays out with the sweet steam you do so well.  Excellent!

Author's Response: Hee. I'm so pleased that particular line is so popular - it really did something for me (ahem) but I wondered if it was too quiet to be noticed much. 'In character' and 'realistic' are music to my ears...especially coming from someone who knows a thing or two about writing 'sweet steam' herself. Thanks, as always, bitterpill!
