Another interesting and witty chapter. I like the stregnth that House is giving Pam in her quest to get Jim. House does the exact same thing w/ his student. I cannot wait to see what "trouble" Pam causes.

Summary:

Set sometime after season 4. Jim and Pam decide to watch the documentary for the first time, together.  Just some fluff with a dash of angst for good measure.

I like this road down memory lane. I think it's a nice parallel to the Jim and Pam story: reliving the moments of their love story.

Awesome story! It is written with such precise and descriptive language. I think this a refreshing view of the heartache that Jim went through in Stamford. Also, I like the notion that Michael broke the news to him. But I think the ending was perfect.  Once again nice story! I hope that you will write more TO stories.

What a beautiful written story. The description of Pam's emotions and love for Jim are so vivid, alive and full of wonderful images. And the title is so fitting for this story.

I think this sums up Jim's feelings perfectly: He knew she was teasing, but he couldn’t resist the sincere tone of his answer. “I’ve wanted you for years.”  Even though this story is more about Pam than Jim, this line / part does a great job of telling Jim's longing for Pam -- simple, true and full of emotion.

I think this is a beautifully written story.  It's always hard for me to read stories where Jim and Pam are separated but if a story is written well (like this one) than I get wrapped up in it. The ending was perfect a great tie in with the beginning.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review, Alamos! I'm not a huge fan of them being apart either, but for some reason this little bit of angst was just sort of begging for me to write it.

Summary: So, I'm re-watching S3 and hating how many missed opportunities there were. This will be a series of "what-if" alternatives which would have spared us some of the S3 angst.

Wow. What a great concept for a story... and who would've thought the word "Ryan" could have changed the course of Season 3.  This is such a simple line “Why didn't you tell me?” he whispered finally. It conveys so much of Jim's sadness during this time.  Nice Job!

Author's Response: Thanks! I can just see them with the long pause and then the question that just goes right to the heart of everything... no preamble, no explanation. He asks that and she knows exactly what he means. These characters are soooo much fun to write. I\'m glad you enjoyed my little take on it. :)

The interaction between Jim and Pam was filled with just right amount of drama, anger and sadness. I love a good "fight" scene, especially one that is written well.

Author's Response: The fight was a lot of fun to write. I had so much more I thought of for them to say to each other in this, but when I sat down to write it, it just flowed the way it did. Thanks so much for your kind reviews!

Lovely story and I love it even more b/c of the reference to my favorite poet -- Pablo Neruda.  And the footnotes are very helpful. This story is great because it is a "smart" story written w/ well choosen words.

What a beautiful story and a great tribute to Neruda and Wallace.   Once again this is by far one of the most orignal stories out there. I am sad to see this story end.

What a great surprise to see so many people from MTT helping you out.  That is wonderful.

Author's Response:

Aww, I was sad to see it end, too, Alamos!  Normally, I spend such a long time with something that I'm relieved to post it and be done, but I really loved being in this world with them.  I'm so glad you enjoyed it and if you think it's a fitting tribute, that makes me happier than anything.  I read giants like them and feel so grateful to have a perfect model to follow, however feebly.

It was such great fun to get so much help with the Epilogue!  Lovefool and I have been knocking stuff around for awhile now - I contacted her out of the blue to see if she wante to co-author something.  I just loved her style and I think she's so funny - I thought we could do something together.  We've tried - we really have!  But it just turned into a wonderful friendship - as warm and supportive as any real life friendship.  I trust her implicitly with characters and storylines - she has wonderful instincts.

Those other two?  Hoo and Colette?  Yeah, if they hang in there, they'll be stars someday!  </Bad John Krasinski imitation>.  They're so awesome and I was thrilled and honored to have their help.

What a wonderful story. I think you did a great job of capturing the excitement and love between them. I don't if i am just overly emotional but this was a great line:It felt as if his heart stopped beating for a moment.  It was amazing, after all this time, to realize that conversations like this were real.  This really could - and  would - happen. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Also Jim asking Pam's Dad for "permission" was so classy and totally something Jim would do.

Author's Response: I think Jim always has this sense of disbelief as far as Pam is concerned.  Things like this help to solidify that for him.  And Pam simply loves him.  I totally think that Jim asked Mr Beesly - probably soon after their conversation in Chair Model.  At least in my world he did. :)   Thank you so much for your sweet review.

WOW! So many emotions in this story: love, loss, heartache, and hope. All of them are so beautifully written. Jim's pain and loss for Pam and their daughter is written so beautifully, that's impossible not to be right w/ him as he is experiencing his life crumble.

The weaving between past and present is done effortless and you do a great job of keeping me (the reader) right there in the moment with them. At the end I felt joy and sadness for them.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you liked the story and I'm especially glad the format worked for you. I've started realizing since I wrote this that maybe I don't need to stick to the traditional "once upon a time" way of telling a story and that you guys will still respond to it, which is a huge relief because there are times when I just can't write in the traditional way. Plus I like to challenge myself to do things in new ways. So hopefully this newfound freedom to experiment will lead to some good things. :) Anyway, thanks again. I really do appreciate hearing from you.

As a fan of both shows I did a little happy dance when I saw this story was crossover.  The pairing of Berger and Pam should make an interesting relationship. In the fanfic world I can always handle Jim and Pam apart if it is written w/ tact and intelligence-- like this story.

I always thought Berger's major flaw was his insecurity w/ Carrie's accomplishments and of course how he handled the criticism of the scrunchy. You have written him as a much stronger character, at least that has made some peace w/ his literary career, so it will be interesting to see how his relationship (if any) w/ Pam grows.  And the tie-in to the drunk dialing of Pam was brilliant.  Nice job.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I always loved Berger, his one downfall really was insecurity about his own career.  I tried to keep this true to that part of his character a little, but still allow him to have grown up a little since we last saw him (4 years ago maybe?) - I'm really glad you are liking it!!

Well I was (am) a huge fan of Philly Jim, I think you did such a great job in that story of telling an honest, heartfelt loving story. I know this will be the same. I think this story starts off strong with Pam's struggle of listening to her "voice" and deciding what to do. Aren't we all struggling to really listen to OUR voice? (I know I am.).  This is such a great line: The real Pam’s voice. The first time I recognized that voice as me, I nearly cried. I wanted to hug her and whisper in her ear, I’ve been waiting for you. Where have you been?

It's going to interesting to see what direction you take the new Pam. I love fanfic because it allows you (the writers) to explore other possibilities. And I think after Philly Jim, I trust your instincts with our lovely Pam.

Author's Response: Oh, man. YES. I\'m always struggling to really listen to my inner wendolf. I think it comes with time and maturity, and that\'s why I think Pam is struggling in this story. She\'s still relatively young and, I\'d argue, maybe a little immature yet (as is Jim). Figuring out who WE are and what WE want (vs. what someone else wants for us) is a huge thing, and it\'s one that Pam probably couldn\'t do without the confidence Jim gave her. The downside is, what the true Pam wants might not be the same as what the true Jim wants. And there\'s the irony, right?\r\n\r\nAnyway, thanks so much for being a fan of Philly Jim. I\'m not sure there were a LOT of them, but they certainly were loyal, and I\'m grateful for that! I hope you enjoy this one as well.
