A Halloween Fic set in Season 5, after the "Employee Transfer" cold opener, with high school flashbacks (because who doesn't love that?!)

Meeting in an unusual place in life, a broken Jim and Pam try their best to put the pieces of their lives back together while not falling apart and back down the hole that they're trying to help one another out of.

Based on the song "How Not To" by Dan + Shay, because do I *ever* write something that *isn't* based on a song? 

"It's not about ideologies anymore or what we wish the world was. It just isn’t. You have to decide what matters and then do whatever you can to keep it. Sometimes that means making impossible decisions; choices that take a piece of you.” 

A lot can change in a year, but for Pam and Jim, that year might be their sweetest yet. Unexpected life events challenge them to grow and become what the other one needs most.

An AU story that follows Pam and Jim through a year in their relationship starting with the engagement and ending with their marriage. 

"Pam, when's the last time you lived so intensely that your brain literally couldn't hold the memories in?"

"Oh, it was the summer--"

I think we know what summer it was. 

Pam doesn't like horror movies, but Jim does. He has an annual Halloween tradition to watch as many as possible in one night, and Pam wants to join in so she decides to watch heap to prepare herself. It doesn't go well. 

It’s Jim’s birthday. There are a whole lot of gifts coming his way but the biggest one he got months before. Spoilers through Fun Run.
