This was so bloody sad! Really good but so, so sad! I usually prefer reading fluff and smut and avoid these stuff but it's a complete story from you so I naturally couldn't resist. I like the fact that Pam got to live her life, even w/o Jim. It's really too heartbreaking, especially the ending but I expected that because Jim can't live in a world without Pam. Thanks for writing (even if it's sad!)

I cried. That was really the most moving one I have read. For some reason, I could never see the characters doing what they do when I watch the show, but once I read your stories, it just seems normal to them. You're a great writer. Great job.

I must say, I really got into this story and thought it was really well done, but I just can't quite believe Jim would commit suicide, especially after moved on so long ago. It also doesn't quite seem to fit with his passive self that seems to be a glutton for punishment as we've seen on the show. As I said though, I thought you did a very good job with most of the story. It was an interesting read.

When she gets up to cover her husband with a blanket she’s struck by how young he looks, sleeping soundly. She watches him for a few moments and when he starts to cry in his sleep she isn’t sure what to do. She calls out his name softly and she’s sure he calls out the name “Pam” in a strangled plea.
Good God is that just beautiful and sad. Wow. My heart just broke a little bit there.

It is terribly sad, but I find it tragically believable. If those two really never do get together (Ed. Note: Yes, I know they really are FICTIONAL characters!), they'll always be missing a part of themselves. I think in this version of Jim someplace deep inside he expected he'd find her again one day. When he finds out that there are no more 'one days' he simply dies. First inside, then out.
