Wow, this is a really beautiful story. And I love the way you describe Jim's speech and actions because I can see them perfectly. Also, I'm a huge Jason Mraz fan, and not many people know Dream Life of Rand McNally, it's one of my favorites. Awesome chapter title :)

Author's Response: Thank you!! I LOVE that song!  Anyone who doesn't know it is totally missing out ;-)

Sorry. Hardcore fan right here.

Another amazing chapter. So, so beautifully written. I can't think of anything else to say... =P

Author's Response: lol yes! I'm in love with that song right now.  I keep listening to it over and over ;-)  Glad you enjoyed the reference.

Jim's apology to Pam was very beautifully written. Keep it coming! The more chapters, the better!

Author's Response: thank you

I love so much about the way you choose to write.  This story...I think each chapter can't possibly be better than the last, and yet it is.  You have such a sure hand and go so deep into these characters.  Wonderful, wonderful storytelling.

Author's Response: thank you so much.  I'm so enjoying this exploration of them and how they can heal.  Glad you are too ;-)

This chapter was excellent. I loved Jim's confession, but I think my favorite parts were the still images -- Jim and Pam leaning up against the tree, looking into the distance; Jim sitting cross-legged on the floor of Pam's bedroom, watching Pam sleep. *sigh* Just lovely images.

More, please!

Author's Response: I fell in love with the image of Jim sitting cross-legged at Pam's bedside as soon as it came to me.  I love the idea of him being so human and childlike and organic.  idk, lol.  I guess my point is I agree ;-) thanks for the review!

I simply love it.  There's nothing more to say than that.  GREAT job. :)

Author's Response: thanks!

"Pam was warm, and Jim let the warmth seep into the coldness that had taken up residence in his chest over the past few months. He let her heal him at night."  This is just all so beautifully written.  I could quote so much of this to say how much I liked it, but I guess that would be sort of silly.  I really do like it a lot, though.  And, always worth any wait.

This chapter, like so many others in this story, was simply amazing.  Excellent explanation of who Pam is and why she does what she does.  I relate so much to Pam.  I think it's because I'm the very same way.  The more crucial something is - the longer I need to process it.   Please hurry w/the next chapter!

That was great. Love Mrs. Beesly - her understanding of Pam and sharing it with Jim is great. Jim's emotions are so beautifully written here - his fear and anger.
And last chapter, their fight was so perfectly written and believable on so many levels.
Nice work.

his pride had been burned, and... he was loathe to stick his neck out on the line again.

So, so insightful. This whole thing has a lovely hushed quality. Very, very nice.

oh man just when I think you can't make it any better, you do!!  I love the whole backstory with Pam and her mom and the moment between Jim/Hank.  Wow.  You are just knockin' each chapter out of the park! I can't wait for more! :)

Great chapter.  Pam's advice was exactly what Jim needed to hear and I'm glad she got to say it.

God, Mrs. Beesley rocks. Jim is so the perfect addition to that family. er winkwinknudgenudge. This story is absolutely fantastic. I haven't been a good reviewer at all, and I am so sorry for that, but you should know that I am consistently moved - more than that - by the words you write. Thank you for sharing this story. It is incredible.

I just read all 13 chapters, and it's fantastic! I really like the emotions coursing through this story, and how it's angsty (which I love), but also lighthearted at times. Much like life. ;) I can't wait to read the rest, so please don't leave us hanging for too terribly long.

Pam's dad smoked Morleys!  Holy crap, Pam's dad is the CSM!!!

Okay, I'm all right now, I think.  Hee--that was great.

And another wonderful chapter.  I love the way Pam's mom can set aside her own feelings at such a difficult time to encourage Jim and counsel him on the best way to win over her daughter.  What a loving mom Pam has!  But it so well mirrors Pam's personality that it's very authentic writing.  Very, very good.  I loved it.

On a grammar/spelling note, in the last chapter (which begins with "She needed time last year," you've got a who's that should be whose: "Pam was a forgiving soul whose emotions..."  Just an FYI.  :)

Author's Response:

ugh thank you.  CAN she get a beta? apparently not.  lol I have to get on that.  Anyway thanks for the correction.

And the Morleys are totally a subconscious reference to Xfiles! lol.   My dad smokes Salems, but I didn't want to go with that.  So I went with the other brand I know too well ;-) Oh CSM how we hate to love you so.

Damn book shelf!  Grr!

Sigh...what a great chapter.  What a great kiss!!!  I think, ultimately, a kiss like that is what it's going to take.  Words aren't what they need.  They need action!  Hot, steamy action, preferably.  ;)

OMG, they are making me CRAZY!!!! I think maybe I've had one too many because I can't believe they stopped because of a bump on the head. If this doesn't happen soon I'm gonna explode....but aside from my own needs...

EXCELLENT chapter. I've been waiting for you to update this story and you did not disappoint. There's just so much raw emotion here, and you can literally feel every emotion. How heartbreaking are they...

Oh I just want happiness for them...soon please?

GREAT WORK!

Oh, Pam. Pam has built such a wall around her inner heart that she needs alcohol to open it, but I think once Jim breaks through things will be good. The toast, Jim's realization, the foreplay, the head bonk....gorgeous beats in this story. Post more soon!
