When you dabble in angst you do it brilliantly. (And it's nice to have the comfort that this is you writing and things will be okay in the end). It's so interesting to think about them confronting and processing the past and it's very realistic to depict it not being easy. I really think it will be hard for Jim to ever truly understand where Pam was on casino night; he just has no template to comprehend what it would have been like for her.

Oh no. Oh, those two! I love that this conversation is so stuttering, awkward, and uses words of one syllable, just like it would in reality. (Their reality AND mine.) This is a great insight: Too close to the truth to rely on kisses and too far away from what they'd been, not to rely on the truth that was coming.

first of all, Pam wearing Jim's hoodie... so cute!
second, gah the angst! no, it's good though. i really don't see them just being happy and carefree, for a little while at least. they have a LOT of crap to get through and you've written it really well. it's kind of frustrating that he's still mad at her after the giant jerk that he's been to her, but i guess i can see both sides of the story. great chapter. the chapter titles are also fun. :)
side note: i'm glad you like my screenname... drug testing is definately in my top 5 fav. episodes. when he says "hi." i swoon every time! :)

This is a great post-The Job Jim and Pam heart-to-heart! Very realistic, very true to the characters, and addressing all of their issues. The angst is inevitable, but I notice that Pam ran INTO Jim's apartment, so I know it will into be temporary. : ) Keep up the good work!

Well, if this isn't the sweetest thing. I love Jim's need to come clean with Pam and how she's still surprising him with her FNB self. Him standing outside the bathroom door, not knowing what to do or say and just...needing her to know that he knows he has a lot of 'splaining to do - perfect, delicious, vintage Jim. this is so sweet, and in character......And, on a subtle note that should NEVER be spoken aloud....poor Jim got used to having to "talk out" every. little. thing. It's going to take him a while to get used to being with Pam and getting back into their "water under the bridge" dynamic.

As usual, I loved it - I love anything you write. I love the image I get of Jim sitting in his apartment holding the art show flyer.
However - I've got to ask - what does the BHC in the title stand for? I've read this several times and I just don't get it - what am I missing?

in The Job, Andy coined "Big Hair Cut" for Jim because of the new haircut, instead of his usual Big Tuna. I found that so hilarious for some reason that I had to make use of it even if it was just in the title...
That imagery of Jim sitting in his apartment with the flyer got to me too. Just something so sad about him at the end of the day knowing what could have been...ugh. Thanks for the review Kells!

So good! You really capture a lot of the nerves and apprehension of the moment. I loved how Jim stood outside of the washroom trying to babble everything to Pam. Most excellent. Perfectly Jim and Pam.

Wonderful...I think there would be this dynamic, Jim being anxious to talk and apologize and Pam just being so happy she hardly knows what to do with herself. It's fun to read about anyway. A big smile from reading your work as always.
