I was gone for a few days so it was really, really, really awesome for me to come back to an e-mail saying this story was updated. But just.. ugh. How do you do it? Seriously. I said that I thought your last chapter was the perfect Pam voice during Beach Games, and I still hold that true for this chapter but I'm thinking maybe you just got Pam's voice down in general. Her fears even when she's being so brave, her courage, her hope. It kills me and delights me at the same time. I am just in awe of this story and in you for penning it so well. I cannot wait to read more (especially the secret assistants to the secret assistant to the regional manager, hehe) and just.. gah. So much with the love I have for this.. another chapter so beautifully done.

Author's Response: I have to say that Pam really is my favorite character on the show, because more than anyone else, she seems to have more going on beneath the surface that the cameras only glimpse at. Oh, dundie, how you continue to create such greatness with every chapter like it's nothing, like it's easy astounds me. A wonderful job, as always. I especially loved the scene when Pam finds the gold medal and writes the note. Funny but sweet. I cannot wait to read the next part, I know it's going to be just as incredible as this entire story is. Plus, if anyone can get Pam down in that last talking head, it's you. :)

Wow. This was just as amazing as I thought it would be, it did not disappoint. Just. Yes. All of this.. yes. Pam pranking Andy, genius. Devil losing it with Dwight, brilliant. I know I've said it before but I just do not comprehend how you've been able to do this so beautifully but I ADORE it and I'm not sure if there will be any other writing that deals with Pam so internally done so well. I'm a little sad that there's only a chapter left but I cannot wait to read it. Spectatular job, per usual, dundie. :)



Author's Response: As always, you are too kind. This was, by far, the most difficult chapter of the story for me to write (thus far), so I'm very glad that you liked it. Trying to do justice to Pam's complicated thoughts and feelings (or at least what I assume them to be) was tricky. Also, I wouldn't be sure that there is only one chapter left. No promises, of course, because I haven't written it yet, but its possible it might go longer (2 parter). It also might be a two-parter because I'd like to keep the chapter length down a bit. It's difficult to keep an 11,000 word chapter coherent, with some continuity, and interesting. Either way, it would be what's best of the story, I wouldn't artificially lengthen of shorten anything for read counts or reviews, I promise. That said, thank you for your awesome, as always, review oobadnama!

Okay, by the end of this, I had a huge smile on my face and maybe I was kindasorta crying a little but that's only because I'm a huge freaking sap and I loved Jim's gift for Pam because that's just so.. Jim. And I loved that you had Pam wear a Nirvana shirt as opposed to something a little less casual because Jim would truly find that awesome. Heee. The thing I love most about this story (among a lot of things, mind you) is that you have Pam and Jim down so perfectly and it makes it so fun to read  because I can just see it happening. I've said that before but it's definitely worth mentioning again after this incredible chapter. You continue to awe me, dundie, and I absolutely cannot wait to see where you take Pam (and Devil and Angel) next. I'm sure it'll be as beautiful as every single chapter already is.

As always, your review is wonderful and awesome. I'm glad that you liked the Nirvana shirt and Jim's gift. I tried, and will continue to try, to be a little different with respect to their date. Also, I figure that despite the fact that Jim decided that day to go on a date with Pam, he must have thought it through a lot of times, for many years. 

Also, thank you for your comment on characterization. I try to get Pam and Jim somewhat close to how I think they would work/speak off-camera. So I'm glad that you find that believable. Thank you for the fantastic review, oobadnama.

I loved coming home to an update to this one. It was fabulous as it always is, and I'm convinced always will be. I loved Pam's uncertainty about how to act or what to do or should she play that song or grab his hand or. I especially loved Jim's thoughtfulness and all that effort he put into making their first date something special. It reminds me of the teapot, which is always nice. Hehe. I'm sure you already know how much I love this, dundie, but I just have to say again how much I adore all the detail you put into this.. it just makes it so lovely to read and so easy to picture everything. Definitely a treat. Gorgeous job, as always.. can't wait to see what you do with that teasing cliffhanger you left us. :)

I'm glad that you were reminded of the teapot when it came to the dinner, because that was (amongst a few other things) my justification for Jim being so thoughtful. I do try to put a lot of detail into the story, and I'm glad you noticed, though I wonder sometimes if sometimes they're a little obscure (ex. the common theme of the books Pam wanted to read, or the connection of "Serendipity" to previous chapters). As for the cliffhanger, Jim, Pam (Devil and Angel) still have some questions that need to be answered before she has peace of mind. Thanks for the great review oobadnama.

This particular chapter made me smile the most though and it could be because TOMORROW we get to see what happened after that infamous scene but I think it's because I can totally see this play out.
