I loved everything about this...seriously. From the little introspection to Pam's past to InCharge!Pam (which was just in charge enough to be believable but not so much so that it was implausible). Most of all I loved the simplicity of the proposal and the symbolism of When Harry Met Sally (one of my faves, too!). I'll stop babbling ('cause really, I could go on) but wonderful job as usual :)

Great job! I'm just going to pretend that this is what happened after GT and all will be good. Honestly, though...each of the little snippets were very Jim and Pam. Wow...this was some amazing insight to Jim here, and I absolutely loved it. There were so many emotions that accompanied this, and everything just flowed really well. I loved their conversation at the end, because it just seemed so true. I think you really captured the awkwardness and underlying communication really well, too. Jim's not knowing of whether or not to say or do anything really worked, as did Pam's initial hesitation and dialog. Anyway, I could ramble like a fangirl all night...but I really really enjoyed it! Can't wait for more :)

He has often been maligned as an ass for his behavior during that period, but to me he was in self-protection mode, just trying so hard to be different that what he had been in season 2. Oh my gosh...the proposal? It was absolutely perfect. I'm kinda speechless right now because of how much I love this story. Pam fitting so seamlessly into NY, the image of Jim buying the ring after he sees her wake up in his bed...everything from Jim's nervousness down to the pepper spray from Dwight, the mix CD's and the pink ducky just scream Jim and Pam, and it's a balance of the grandiose and ordinary that you've captured so incredibly well.

So yeah, I totally loved this. Also one of the best proposals that really keeps both of them in character and believable. I can't wait for the next part, even though I'll be really sad to see this one go.
