10 Sad, but really good. It's very plausible that this could have happened at that point of the show- Jim seeing a therapist- because, if you really pay attention to those episodes, Jim was more depressed, and sort of drawing away from Pam.
10 Sweet. For a while there, I wasn't expecting a happy ending. I like it.

My favorite part was from the third one:
She had been laughing and that made him laugh and she kept trying to hug him all the while saying, “Be my friend, Jim! Be my friend!”
And he only had a second so he quickly wrapped his arms around her, holding her briefly.
“Always.”
That's just so cute, and so sweet, and so them.
10 For some reason, this was my favorite part:

Probably because I know exactly what that's liie, and it gave me butterflies.

10 Ooh, I've read the first chapter before, but I'm loving the second chapter even more! I love that Pam showed up at the airport to surprise him at the end. Sweet.

She always wrapped herself safely in layers of the known. Routine. Contentment. Even when it meant her own unhappiness.
10 Ooh, I loved this. Their kiss was so sweet and sexy, and I love that when the kiss ended, and they knew it couldn't be anything more, Jim didn't freak out and draw into himself- instead, he comforted Pam by hugging her, because he knew she was as upset as he was.
Future fic, but with some imagined back-story for Jim as well.10 OMG, this made me lose it:
‘I was just wondering if maybe…if you could…please… just love me again.’

Responses to various Five Things prompts. 10 I thought I'd read this before, but I hadn't! I love this so much, especially the last one, where he couldn't wait any longer to propose to her, so he did before they even got into the car.
10 This chapter is my favorite. I love her "I just wanted to see you." and her calling him in the middle of the night to say she loves snow and that she misses him. And the last one is so, so sad. All of those made me cry. And the first one with the lifesaver thing was so cute.

Well, the DVDs have given us all a wealth of new inspiration....so here's my being undisciplined and giving in. :o) Right now, I'm planning to cover Jim's talking head in "The Client," the Sasha story, Jim visiting the BB online from the Pochonos, and I'd also like to revisit "The Secret" in light of some of what JK said on the commentary. Squee!

At first, though, I couldn't believe that Pam would do something like that to Jim-- be so open with him, basically showing him (and telling him) how much she loves him, but then backpedaling and saying what a good "friend" he is, because there's no way she could not know how he felt about her here, and I think you made it clear in your writing that she certainly knows what he feel for her, yet, she's almost at the point of saying it out loud, but then she never does, and doesn't acknowledge what she truly feels for him either... so I'm not sure if it would ever get this far between the two of them without something more than a cry-fest-kiss-and-run-away thing happening... but then again I sometimes watch the show and say, "oh my god, that is the most serious denial I have ever seen! That, or you're just really mean, Pam." hehe.
But at any rate, this was a really well-written what-if scene, and it really struck a chord.
Thanks for such a thoughtful review! And I actually agree with you - in my fics, I am very (VERY) guilty of stretching the bounds of reality for some good drama. I think that if Jim were in tears like that and Pam came out, then cried right along with him, he'd say something to her at that point. I do think that Pam knows what she's feeling but just tries to deny it, so I can sort of see her falling back on the whole "he's-my-best-friend" thing. That said, the kissing? No way. I've said it before and I'll say it again: A drunken kiss at the Dundees was excusable, but I do not see these two being able to have a kissy type friendship, not with all the tension.
I just make 'em kiss to give poor Jim a break sometimes. :o)
Post-"Gay Witch Hunt"; Pam's growing up and realizing that if you want something, sometimes you have to fight for it.10 I love this story. I can't believe I've seen it on this site so many times and never read it. It's so sweet, and the end of this chapter made me cry. I can't wait for chapter 10!

For some reason, I felt like this was the most Pam-like thing in the wholse chapter: The real emphasis in the message was on the JEALOUS and CONNECTIONS TO THE MOB.
The ending was really sweet. I can't wait for more.

10 Very sweet. There were about twenty zebras in the picture, each with its own distinctive stripe pattern, but the focus was on two standing side by side. Their stripes matched perfectly, and they were labeled “Jim” and “Pam”.
This was my favorite part:

This picks up pre-merger and is spoiler free, a bit AU as well. I began this back in October (maybe even September), and obviously the show has deviated quite a bit from what I speculated here.
This begins with angst, but there is a great deal of fluff, steam, smut, and silly...for several, several chapters. My idea was to go beyond the happy ending, so to speak.

At first she's all wrong, but in the end maybe she's a better fit.10 Agh! I'm so conflicted! I love this story, but it's so, so sad that Jim and Pam never made their way back to each other. I get the feeling that Jim does have some feelings for Pam, but that he knows her indecision is unfair to him, so he loved Karen too, and what counts is that Karen loves him back. He never knew if Pam ever really loved him, though he senses her regret when he sees her again, but that last line is perfect and makes the whole thing make sense.
