On my phone so I can't type much, just wanted to say how much I like these 2 chapters! Great characterization and great detail (the drawing I never noticed but nice catch. I love little things like that and I love that jim drew it). Anyways, looking forward to more. IMHO it fits the timeline well. I completely heard Pam's voice throughout. Keep going!

Author's Response: Thank you! I always considered characterization to be the most important thing in fanfiction, so to hear you say I did it well means a lot.

This is great! I frowned at my computer screen at the part where Jim wants her to enter the art contest. I think it fits in so well with season 3 and his excitement over her winning that contest (you know, the scene that's only on the extended version lol) I love how Roy isn't evil here, just stupid and neglectful. It's how I imagine him being. Loving this story, can't wait to see which road you take with it! :)

No garbage from me! I'm a fan of cliffhangers! I can't wait to read the next chapter of this and see where you take us. I love the glimpse of their golf outing, nice touch. I love Drug Testing, it's one of my top 5 favorites. I really can't wait to see where you go with this, since Jim telling her how he felt is exactly what I wished would have happened instead of him chickening out once again.

I absolutely love and adore this, and love what you did at the end! It's perfect! My favorite parts are the how Jim hummed and with the baby against his chest and the baby calmed own and realized he was his daddy, and the part that describes how people think he should feel something extra special because he had a boy, yet all Jim cares about is that he has another child, boy or girl. It just seems very Jim like. The love between him and Pam just jumps off the page, and I love their giddiness. Also the ending paragraph was such a wonderful image. I adored this entire story. I'm so looking forward to more of these! You've got a gift of drawing such a beautiful image. I'm adding this to favorites.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! :) I was worried it might be too cheesy, so I'm really glad you liked it.

Awwww!!!! I love this! I'm still smiling after this line.

He doesn’t agree, but you can already tell that he is going to make some girl just as happy as his father makes you.

What a short and sweet little thing this is.

Author's Response: Thank you!! :) I really wanted to write a full story around this, but when all I could really see clearly was dialogue, I just decided to keep it short.

I'm not sure how you've done it (well, you're an awesome writer, so that's how) but you are the first author to ever write a story in which I actually care about an original character. Adele is so sweet and kind. I love how sweet she is with Pam. It's so sad how she thinks Pam is talking about her son, but Pam really means Jim. I also feel really bad for Adele because the baby isn't really her grandchild. But Pam did what she had to do. Gerry and his company sounds ruthless, so she did the right thing by leaving. I'm sad that she misses Jim though, sometimes you never get over your truest love no matter how much they've hurt you. I truly love this because you can very well go in a few different directions with this story and I'm really looking forward to where it goes. I can't believe Jim is living in Australia, and I think it's almost humorous how he thinks he's outsmarted his father, but his father's really brain washed him. I love the phone call with his mom where she's telling him about the baby shower. I don't know why I think like this, but I like that he's getting glimpses of his own child in that way. I'm so looking forward to the next chapter! :)

Author's Response: Adele is one of my favorite characters to write for. I needed her to be very appealing to the audience because she's the reason why Pam just doens't feel compeled to just...leave. I want the readers to go, "Oh, right... I wouldn't do that to Adele either," ya know? Jim will soon figure out he's not in control and hell will break loose! Jim will get some balls in a future chapter, which is by far my favorite yet! Thanks for sticking by and reviewing my fic!

This is fantastic! Karen's out of the picture, right? RIGHT? Will he decide to stay with his plan and go to Australia, or will he decide to crash his father's party? So many ways to go. I don't mind the angst, keep it coming, this is great!
A little thing - there are a few "relived" where I think you mean "relieved" and this He’s had enough. Enough of everything.
I think it should be He'd.
Sorry, I know it's a pest to have a review with a correction, but I wanted to mention it because this chapter is great and I don't want anyone to get taken out of the story by that. :)
More of this soon, please!

Author's Response: Karen is out of the picture... Hooray! This is so many ways to go.. ch. 9 will answer that question for you. I think you are the only person who doesn't mind the angst and is asking for more... There will be more! Thanks for the grammar pointers... I always miss the most stupid things, especially after reading the chapter 100x over! You=awesomepie! Thanks for reading!

Oh my! Glad you were able to get this re posted so quickly! I'm even MORE intrigued now! You have to promise to update this quickly. Who's Jim? Where'd he come from? What's happened before that led to this reaction? I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for more!!

Author's Response: All you questions are great! But this is a slow boil and slowly everything will be answered. Thanks for reading.

Definitely still here, sorry it took so long to read this. When I saw you updated I ran out of time to read and haven't been able to get back here since I updated my story. Anyway, I really liked this chapter a lot. The chat with Adele and Pam was so heart breaking, I really feel for Adele, and I wonder what will happen with her and her husband. And Betsy's aware of what her husband has done, I like that she's not faulting Jim for this entire thing. I'm really looking forward to Jim and Pam reconnecting, and everything else you have in store for us with this great story (that I've been completely addicted to, btw) So hurry and post an update soon! :)

So sorry for the delay with reading this! I took a quick break from here for a few days, and I was so happy to see you posted a new chapter when I checked this morning. This chapter was so intimate, I almost felt like I was eavesdropping on them. They definitely still have that connection, and I feel so bad for Pam dealing with all of this guilt, but Jim's the one that pushed her to do what she did. I'm happy that they aired everything out about what happened. I hope she can start to trust him again, and that he can trust her again too. I hope he doesn't freak out when he wakes up and she's not there... though that would be fun to read. Whatever you decide I know it will be as amazing as the rest of this story has been. I'm hoping you'll post more soon!

Omigosh, I loved this chapter so much. Roy's adding such tension that's making my toes bunch. I love them having breakfast together and the ease of how they're getting back to where they should be. But man, Roy is surely getting on my nerves and making me anxious!

Sorry it's been a while since I've been around this archive, it's been a rough month for me but I'm trying to get back on track now. I'm so excited that I get to press that next button, but I'm also sorry that I've been so delayed in staying caught up with this story.

Side note, every time I see the title of this story, the Adele song pops in my head. Just thought you'd want to know that lol
Anyway, I'm really so disliking Roy and his protectiveness. But at the same time it seems like the exact thing he'd do. The image of Jim cradling his daughter at the end was so lovely, I am all a gooey pile of mush now. I love every thing this chapter is. I am so proud of Pam for being so strong and standing up to Roy. And I love again how easily Pam and Jim are getting along again.

I was so happy to see this posted! I've been checking constantly for an update. (I'm a nudger what can I say lol) This was... I am so proud of Jim for standing up to his father, and that it looks like it may not be too late for him to be in Cece's life. When he picked up Cece for the first time, I could literally see it happening and I loved every second of it. I could feel Pam's nervousness when Jim picked up the car seat, still afraid that he's going to take her baby away.

I so appreciate that in this AU, Jim's love is still so strong for Pam that even after 9 months apart, he's still completely in love with her. I love that he's going to be a better father than his father ever was (I'm assuming he will be... of course he will be!) And I wonder if Gerry did this to his other sons too, being over protective and getting PI's involved. I know this is going to sound mean and but I hope Jim doesn't forgive his father. What Gerry did was terrible.

I'm so anxious about the next chapter, it's not clear cut if they'll get together or if Pam can't trust him anymore and they'll be splitting time with Cece and move on with other people. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Lady, I wasn't going to post it until monday. I have this thing where I read it over, and over, and over, and.. you get the point...But your review "*taps fingernails on desk* Patiently awaiting an update..." was what made me post it and I'm so glad I did it! The Gerry and Jim scene took me a while. I wrote down everything I wanted Jim to say and just getting the "flow" of everything was hard. Only because I wanted to convey the fact that Jim had planned this conversation. He knew what he was going to say, regardless of his father's reaction.

I'm the Jim/Cece scene worked out and what was in my head actually translated into the paper. I'm sooo glad you got Pam's nervousness, like, I wanted to convey the feeling, but I didn't want to overwhelm the reader with Pam's fears. I'm glad that wasn't a negative aspect.

You betcha that in my stories Jim will ALWAYS love Pam, after 9, 10, 342,545 months... doesn't mater. The reason being that, this is already and AU, and the only thing that keeps this about Jim and Pam and not Joe and Cindy, is the love they have for each other. Do you know what I mean? Next chapter is coming soon... Just working a few kinks... Thanks for reading and reviewing.

This is... I'm not sure where to begin! I really like how gentle Roy is with Pam, and how sweet the Andersons are to her. I LOVE the incorporation of one of my favorite scenes in your flashback. It fits in so perfectly, and also makes this all the more heart breaking. I don't like Jim even talking to Karen... but I never do so, don't mind me lol I mean, this has to be killing him, going from being so close to Pam to not knowing where she is, that really has to hurt him. I feel so bad for both of them and I'm so anxiously awaiting the next chapter!

Wow again! The moment he saw Cece I almost gasped along with him! I love how the conversation at the end is done, it's not all over the place but it's not even either, it completely shows how caught by surprise they both are, even though Jim knew what he was walking into and seeing he still couldn't really pull it together in his head. I'm actually really glad that Pam didn't catch him holding Cece because she would have freaked out, but I did want him to hold her at the same time. I can't wait for that moment. I can't wait for the next update! So much to love about this chapter, intense, it moved so fast and held so much tension! Loving it! More please!

Jim! She didn't even know your real last name? How could you do that to Pam? Oh, I'm so mad at him! What did she think his last name was? Or did she really know it and is at the moment fainting as they're giving a toast... And Jim spending Thanksgiving with KAREN?! UGH! So many twists and turns in this story, I'm loving every bit of it. Please don't give up on this story, you have to keep going!

Author's Response: Jim messed up BIG time. But he just wanted to keep a low profile. If he used his real last name, his father would be knocking on his door the next day. I like to think that Jim kept his identity a secret to protect Pam and himself, although in the end it did nothing but harm them. I had written a scene where they had met and Jim introduced himself as, "James Duncan. But you can call me Jim." He was only going with his middle name. But I chose not to have that scene. Jim spending thanksgiving with Karen..um... look at it as if he is trying to move on. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! It mean a whole lot!

Poor Pam!! Where is she?! Jim's making me angry too. Is Pam lying about the baby? To say that I'm vacuum sucked into this story is an understatement. MORE MORE MORE!

Author's Response: Pam's whereabouts will be revealed... soon (next chapter). Don't be too mad at Jim... he's trying to figure things out and Pam just happened to be a casualty int he process. Keep reading and your question about the baby will be revealed!

So sorry for not staying caught up on reading fic while I was on vacation! Catching up now, and right from the beginning of this chapter I'm nodding. I can absolutely see why Pam felt she had to lie about the baby and leave town. The snippets of things Jim and Pam had done on the show mixed in - love that! I can understand how these tragic things (Jim's downright nasty attitude toward Pam the second he found out about the baby... the car accident and what follows) I can definitely see how all of these situations would lead to irrational spur of the moment actions. On to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Don't you know that fanfic always comes first? Before midterms, tests, homework.... Before boyfriends and girlfriends... vacations?!? Haha! I hope you had a wonderful vacation. I'm glad you can see why Pam acted the way she did. That was my only worry while writing this fic because I would be taking Jim and Pam out of their element. I was scared people would be put off by it, but I'm soo glad you were "nodding" while reading the chapter! whew! Thanks for reading!

Author's Response: Haha! You're too funny! I apologize for your aching heart... I'm sorry. I'm already going to apologize for any future pain I might cause....wink, wink! But I'll tell you right now that the Anderson's are genuinely nice people. Don't be suspicious and do get more coffee (I love punkin spice!). I'm happy your liking this crazy little fic of mine! Don't fall for Roy, Pam!!! JIM stay away from Karen!!! AGH!
Now that I got that out of my system ;) Okay, objectively I can't blame either one for trying to move on. I am so looking forward to finding out the full story behind Jim's background and who his family really is. And... okay, call me crazy, but I can't wait to find out what Karen's reaction is when she finds out who Jim is too... cause that's bound to come up. I'm so anxiously awaiting the next update!

Author's Response: I'm glad you can see why they would try to move on. The full story behind Jim will be coming up in one of the later chapters. So, about Karen.... on the chapter in which she is first mentioned I chose to have her know who he was by making Karen's dad friends with Jim's dad (Chapter 5). So, she knows exactly who he is. But there will be other twists and turn ahead. Thanks for reading!

Wow, (do I seriously start every review with that word?) You keep leaving me so enthralled by this story. For Jim's part, the way he found out about the baby was totally epic. I'm so happy he's on a plane! I'm so torn about Pam... I'm happy that she's going to finally tell Adele the truth, but I'm sad that it might hurt Adele in some way.

I have to tell you I wish I could write like this. You're putting this story together so wonderfully, and I seriously check here throughout the day for updates. I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: It is a compliment to me that you start you reviews with "wow." Seroiusly - no need to get too creative, "wow" works just fine! Don't worry about how Adele will take the news once she finds out. You will see that she's more intuitive than you think. I'm completly blown away that you wish you could write like me. Duuudeee your stories are chocolates! I need them in my life in order for me to function properly! Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!
