Cool! A new look at Stanley. I wonder if Kiosk Lady would consider stocking pretzels at her kiosk? She might get to see Stanley a little more often! :) Well done!
Author's Response:
This was the one that started it all. I think had the 55 words challenge been on my radar when I wrote this then this would have just been a one shot. I love me some Stanley! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 2: Red
Awwwwwww. "See ya Tuesday, beautiful." Awwwww. Love it.
Author's Response: Thanks! I want Meredith to find a good man who will make her happy. I think that's more a hope based on my like of Kate instead of Meredith though. Thanks again for reading and reviewing.
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 3: Badgered
Whoa! What a great idea! Kelly's sister! And how nice that you gave us a glimpse of young Ryan, insecure about his braces. This is very original. I liked it.
Author's Response: Yeah - I loved that whole scene in Diwali where they compared him to Zach Braff. Of course her sisters are going to have a crush on him! I miss you old Ryan!
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 4: Manure
Ah, the earthiest of love. :) Nicely done.
Author's Response: I wrote about poo. You read and left a review. ;)
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 5: Silver
*sob* Poor Creed. I had never considered him a sad character, but this was quite convincing!
Author's Response: Thanks. I love Creed. I think they make him so outrageous on the show that I wanted to make him more.. human? Anyways, thanks again for taking the time out to read and review!
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 6: Two Scoops
What a poignant little scene. We so rarely get a glimpse of Kelly's more somber side. It's so in character for her to hide that side from the world and instead reveal it in little rituals of remembrance like this. Well done, well done!
Author's Response: Thanks - I'm really glad that you got this - this was the first fic I ever used a beta for because it was so much more about showing Kelly than the ice cream guy. I wanted to make sure it wasn't creepy, and from what people have said here I think it succeeded, which makes me happy. Thanks again for reading and reviewing.
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 7: Drip
Woohoo! Sign me up with the Alzheimer's ladies! I'll be the one with the camera...I love your description of Wet!Jim getting out of the pool, and his totally oblivious take on their interest. *snerk*
Author's Response: I cannot tell a lie. This one was totally for the treehouse. 100%.
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 8: Go Tell it on the Mountain
I like the evocation of Angela's "silky blonde hair". I hadn't thought of it in quite that way. And there's a certain Jane Austen-ish quality about your minister (in a good way) I can't quite put my finger on, but I like him. Poor guy.
Author's Response: Thanks - I was actually surprised by this one - I originally wanted a choir boy to be the one with a crush on her, but this is how it worked out. The hair was my starting point for this piece, so I'm glad you picked up on that description.
Date: April 21, 2008 Title: Chapter 9: The Vampire Scott
Yay! Halloween!Michael is one of my favorite sides to him! He's all about the kids that day, in the sweetest way. Thanks for the reminder!
Author's Response:
OK - so holy crap - when you review you don't joke around! I had like 8 new emails!
Thanks so much for reading and letting me know what you think. I really love this side of Michael. After S3, I wonder if it's a bit out of character for him, but I truly hope not! Thanks again for reading and reviewing!
A collection of brief everyday moments: sleeping, showering, working, eating...(sounds exciting, huh?)
Each part is a mini-one shot (i.e., not a WIP with one ongoing narrative); no spoilers.

*tear*
So, so sweet. Love how he discovered the private universe his parents lived in, and the decision to abandon the jokes and just tell her on paper (how appropriate) how he feels -- again. And now I have to know what Cousin Mose (the one on the show, not the one on MTT) is going to do with that shower cap. Beautiful, Colette.
Author's Response: Why thank you! Somehow I could just imagine Jim finding those letters and it sort of helping form his consciousness of the love thing. (Am I articulate tonight, or what, LOL?) Ah, Mose and the shower cap...so many possibilities.....
Date: September 06, 2007 Title: Chapter 3: Shiny When Wet
Ooo. Wet!Shiny!Jim. I like it. Can I have one? Please?
Loving this like all the others, Colette. Sweet glimpses of a life we'd love them to live...
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed these little bits, NEJ...and who doesn't want a Wet!Shiny!Jim? Thanks much!
Date: September 06, 2007 Title: Chapter 2: Indian Summer
Even unconscious, he always makes sure that at least one part of him is touching one part of her.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww. Colette, this is so sweet. So much love in so few words. I love this.
Author's Response: Hee. Sometimes when it comes to describing love, the fewer words the better ;-) Thanks again!
Date: September 06, 2007 Title: Chapter 1: Gary Cooper
Michael might actually be Gary Cooper.
I laughed aloud at Michael's description of himself as Gary Cooper. No one could be LESS like the silent, stoic Cooper than Michael Gary Scott. Brilliant!
I love the way you've caught Jim's ambiguity over touching Pam in Seasons 1-3, and the delight that he can do that now. I can't wait to see them together on screen now! Thanks for another wonderful little moment, Colette. Like small, polished gemstones.
Author's Response: Exactly...I thought for Jim, early in the relationship, just believing he could casually touch her would feel like he was disconnected from reality, like anything was possible (even Michael being Gary Cooper.) Thanks for reviewing, NEJ!
Date: September 12, 2007 Title: Chapter 5: That Girlfriend
Dinner isn't supposed to require a stunt double
LOL! I love this line. And the last paragraph--woohooo! Yowsa! Thanks very much for writing this one. I think I need some pad thai now.
Author's Response: Yum, pad thai. Glad you got a laugh out of that line - and a yowsa out of the last paragraph. Thanks, as always NEJ!
Date: September 25, 2007 Title: Chapter 6: Cooties
Oooo cozy Jam. In sickness and in health, that's our Jim and Pam. I love the fact that he retains his teasing sense of humor even when he's sick ("What am I, an animal?"). You make these little vignettes so cozy, Colette. I love them all.
Author's Response: Cozy. I like that. Really, all these scenes are meant to do is capture a simple, relatable (is that a word?) moment...so, yeah, cozy ;-) Thanks NEJ.
This is an idea I've had for a long time. It is inspired by the very end of the Six Feet Under series finale (hence the title), and it seems that the 55 word style would be perfect for it. Each chapter will focus on a different Office character. 20 chapters are planned.
I do not own these characters, and would not do this to them if I did. No copyright infringement intended.

Chad Lite wrote the obituary. Again.
LOL! So, so Creed. I'm not sure he will ever die. Like Keith Richards, Creed is preserved for all time by all the drugs he's taken.
Date: October 22, 2007 Title: Chapter 7: Rerun
LOL!!! I knew he wasn't dead last time! So funny!
Date: October 22, 2007 Title: Chapter 12: Hero
Of course he dies a hero. How sad. How Dwight. Jim would have wept at the funeral, too.
Author's Response: Defintely! I would have included that if I had space. Thanks for the comment!
Date: October 22, 2007 Title: Chapter 13: Fold
So Michael, Jim and Pam live forever? Yeah, I think they will. Thanks for all of these! So sweet, so sad, so clever.
Author's Response: Thanks, NEJ! I really appreciate it.
Pam's fears are getting the better of her.

Oh, Michael. So, so ... him. I like this, bitterpill. And loved Jim talking to Pam's stomach. Cute.
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad Michael sounded in character. I always worry about that. Appreciate the review:)
Michael watched Pam through the blinds. She was so lucky, everyone always wanted to talk to her, hang out with her, be friends with her. Sometimes he wished he could be her. It would all be so easy if he was Pam.
Pam looked up to see Michael staring at her through the blinds. She smiled to herself before turning back to answering the phones. Sometimes she wondered what it was like to be Michael. It must be strange.
There's a rule of the universe. Never wonder the same thing at the same time as someone else. That's a karmic jinx.

Michael knew it would all be okay if he could just find his missing penis.
Best opening line EVER.
Joey Buttafucko
OMG. My ribs hurt from laughing at that one.
Author's Response:
The Joey Buttafucko was one of those mistakes where you go "OH MY GOD!" I was typing his name which is Buttofucho or I don't know what and while I was trying to remember how to spell it, my fingers typed Buttafuko and I looked at that and went "HOLY COW, how did I never notice THAT before?" I had to stop writing for 10 minutes because I was laughing so hard.
Date: October 02, 2007 Title: Chapter 3: BFF 4EVR - Michael Heart Kelly!!!!!
if she knew Michael, he’d be mooning people on the freeway… with her butt!
I think I am going to seriously die laughing.
He’d only been Pam for an hour and already someone wanted to be a lesbian with him!
OMG. Ow. Ow ow ow my ribs hurt. OMG.
Was it just because she was from Africa?
Africa? Africa??? OMG I hurt myself again. This is hilarious.
a guy packing more lard than a warehouse of twinkies
I love you. I want to have your children.
Date: October 02, 2007 Title: Chapter 1: The Alarm Clock Sounds
I can't believe how beautifully you've caught Michael's inner monologue here. Everything he is thinking sounds dead. on. And it's all hilarious, from his waking up to Pam's last line. OMG I am laughing so hard. You win!
Author's Response: I am really scared by how many people have said I've really caught Michael's inner monologue. I'm not really sure that's a compliment. But at least I'm not doing Creed's inner monologue. When I had to do that for TooLateKev's challenge, it took me weeks, WEEKS, to recover.

Nomadshan, I am so happy you reposted this story, and to repost it with additional material is such a wonderful gift! You're a testament to the best of what fanfic can be--not just an expression of your love for a TV show, but a platform to help develop good writing. I have always loved your writing, and Hope is one of the best pieces I've ever read, not just in fandom but anywhere. If writing it led you into other genres, that's wonderful. Thanks for returning it to us, and a million good wishes on your professional career.
*sniff* They grow up so fast...
Author's Response: Thanks, NEJ -- I appreciate it. I think some good material has come of trying to expand this story.
