After business hours I get so tired of having to answer my own phone..." Ha! Cuddly, jokey Jim and Pam: you're a whiz! The dialogue in this is wonderful and kept me grinning the whole way through. I missed this when it was first posted, I'm really glad it was featured!

Author's Response: HA!  I love these little peeks into what could be - so I just had to!  Glad you found it!!  Thanks Paper Jam!

Perhaps worrying about him being bruised and battered now was too little too late.

Great line! I also really like Pam trying to be near him without disturbing him. It's so in character for her. Even when she's taking big steps, it's in a quiet, unassuming way. And then Jim makes her work a little for him, which is excellent.

‘Say my name,’ he sighs, still moving.  *fans self*

And I love the two of them trying not to smile about Roy getting a bloody nose. Hee.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Author's Response: Only right that she work a little for it...but, I'd say the pay-off was worth it! Glad you thought Pam was in character and that it made your temperature rise a bit! Thanks, as always Paper Jam...always love your reviews!

I know now that for eight hours every day you pretended I was yours. So true, and heartbreaking when you think about it like that. This was just lovely. I could almost feel Pam's heart skip a beat at the end.

Author's Response:

Thank you Paper Jam.  It is breaking my heart - just how much scares me more than a little. ;)

Hopefully happier days are around the corner.

Screaming and tears in the parking lot! Bless their hearts! Sorry this review is so late, I was waiting till it was done, and then real life took over. Chockful of domestic yummyness, can't wait to read the rest!

Yes! The suntan lotion is back! "And other things too?" Yeah, that's as good as cookies and ice cream. And so are these stories!

Author's Response: Thanks to you, Jim+suntan lotion is an image forever burnt into my brain. So happy you like these silly things (and, hmmm, what other things could he have in mind? Can't imagine ; )

Sexy and lazy (the good kind) and funny. Classic Colette. Also, I think I caught Halpert Syndrome. If you could just send along the prescribed treatment, that would be great!

Author's Response: Sadly, I think there's a Halpert Syndrome epidemic sweeping the land...but only a vicarious cure. I like that - the good kind of lazy (hee). I owe those two crazy kids a little sexy, lazy, post-angst fun once in a while.  Thanks again!

I love Pam not being impressed by Jim's charm when she's trying to win an argument. She knows his tricks. Delightful!

Author's Response: Yeah, she knows him alright (lucky bitch.) I love her and Jim's relationship with Michael...wanted that to carry it, not just Jim sweet talking her. Though, I think the boy could be VERY persuasive.

Aw. Poor freaked out Jim. He would totally panic, wouldn't he?

Thanks for these! You're a genius, as always!

Author's Response: How adorably excited and flummoxed would he be? (Maybe I didn't have to make him naked too...just liked the intimacy of that, the whole middle of the night thing. And, okay, I'm weak.) Anyway, it felt good to get this silliness out of my system...glad you enjoyed too. Thanks - as always - for all your great reviews, Paper Jam

Sorry I didn't leave a review last night, but it would have consisted mostly of "whuuuu...whoa..." Heh. I needed to re-read again in the light of day. I loved the pacing and the imagery. My favourite line was: She spends the day a tangled heap of sparking wires, ready to flicker at the slightest provocation because it's "Pam is jumpy" only you painted the feeling instead of saying it. And: it hurts so much to think of Karen watching him close the blinds, of all the ways they’ve hurt each other before broke my heart. You have captured them both perfectly in raw form and it was a pleasure to read.

Author's Response: What a great review!  Capturing them in "raw form" is such a huge compliment, and I'm so happy you liked the line about Pam and her jumpiness throughout the day too.  Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Fanfic rarely makes me cry, but this one got me. You write with such pure emotion (not the kind you see on tv, but the kind in your head). Jim's helplessness was perfectly done, because even though he's sad, her grief is far more important than his. I especially love Pam's difficulty getting dressed. It's so stupid, but that really does happen. And the hopeful ending was beautiful, the kind of thing you need to hear after heartbreak.

He just doesn't care enough about other people's problems to be mean. And Jim's flat out denial is great. He really does need to tell himself that to get through the day.

Author's Response:

Thanks!! Your LJ feedback was AWESOME and I responded over there, but I wanted to say again, THANK YOU for the awesome prompts.  And I can't wait to finish my Jim/Pam story from your excellent prompt.   The fact that you really appreciate my fic means so much to me.  I spend my days right now doing work that I think doesn't mean very much to people except in the very very grand scheme of things, so the fact that there is one person out there who is touched by something I did is so rewarding I can't even express it.  So, thanks again!
