This was so sweet, and felt very much like the way they would discuss this topic. I know how much you love finding perfect Jam songs, so this must have been such fun to write!

*How about…" he leaned over to take a peek at the list she had found, "Unchained Melody?"

Pam shook her head immediately.

"Ever since we played desert island with the office, the only thing that song makes me think of is Meredith grinding her hips."*

Okay, this made me cackle.

I don't know the song "More" but having now listened, I can absolutely envision them dancing to it at their wedding. (Although if they did take lessons, Jim seems to have promptly forgotten everything. His bouncing-up-and-down with his arms straight at his sides 'move' seems to be a chronic condition, unfortunately)

It was fun - I loved going through the songs - I even went searching the fic archives for other first dance wedding songs used - didn't find much so I had to do my own researching lists and such.

Yeah, dance lessons didn't take. At least not for long. But watch them dance off Darryl - they're trying! Still I do enjoy the way they dance.

You already know my thoughts but season 3 angst is my jam (pun intended) and I think you did a great job of combining Jim's thoughts about Roy with this song.

*You are far from the same person, no closer to him than you were eight months ago when you called your wedding, engagement, and relationship off, as it seems. You’ve grown into a person who shouldn’t need him.*

This is my fave part... the fact that surely Jim sees the changes in Pam and still has to bear witness to her backsliding is frustrating as a viewer.

Well thank you! Those couple of lines are also my favorite! Jim is in no way able to deny the growth she's made since calling off their wedding, and intertwining that with the song lyrics just produced a great couple of lines!

Hey, this was my prompt! Or at least, I was one of the people who requested it :)

Very sweet story. I liked the dynamic you had for Jim/ David, and him being very proud of Pam's animation and talking her up was sweet.

Your Jim/Karen convo was nice, it's really actually quite believable and hopeful that she would be ready to move past her anger.

Oh my GOD I nearly teared up when Jim let the family have the room. And all of his dialogue with Michael was really spot on.

Great addition to a fab holiday story, glad you got around to doing it! Marry half-Christmas!

Author's Response: Yes, yours was the main prompt for writing Jim's account. Glad you liked the interactions Jim had at the party. S4 is where we see Jim start to mature a bit more in my opinion and I wanted to bring that out. I'm also touched you liked how he acted there while stranded, with the family and Michael. Thanks for the prompt and I'm glad you liked it so much.

Ha! I think this every single time I watch this episode.

You know, it's interesting to think of Jim and Karen being strictly friends in this way. Canon Karen is extremely observant in pretty much every regard, the only weak spot being her own relationship with Jim. So this makes her character wiser and more likable.

Excited to see how you play this out. I hope Karen plays matchmaker because that feels like cosmic karma.

Karen and Danny Cordray is the ship I didn't know I needed.

Catching up on this and truly, your Pam/ Karen scenes are giving me life. I like her so much more as a wingman than as Jim's jealous girlfriend who never stood a chance.

*She was no closer to understanding how such a man-child was able to fake it as a productive member of society enough to be in charge of other people. But her new reality had started to set in a little, and she was now almost sure she wasn’t unwittingly taking part in a long format of the show Punk’d.*

This is such a good description of Karen being dropped into our familiar DM world.
