Oh this is so cool, VB. I love the idea. As much as I love Jim coming back to Pam from NY in The Job, I do love the angsty detours that fics like this take - separated for years but still think of one another, and then they make their way back. Love it. Can't wait for part two!

10 Beautiful. I loved Jim's inner thought repeating "I'm in love with you." I can imagine he had so many moments like this one where you know he just wanted to tell her. But you were able to illustrate beautifully that he did tell her, just in a different way.

10 I was so happy to see this updated. I love House giving Jim a hard time now - he needed it just as badly. I love how Jim has conflicting emotions - so totally the Jim we knew back then. I can't wait for more, as usual. I'm greedy like that :)
9 I really love this, because I think it's completely and totally realistic. The thing is, there is no guarantee that Pam is going to be some amazing successful artist. It would be nice, yeah, but the real world can be a tough place sometimes.
Really well done. And actually if the writers went this way I would find it so refreshing.
A golf pencil, two hot sauce packets, a Boggle timer, a mixtape, a high school yearbook photo, a card, and a teapot. Yup.10 Oh talktative. There is so much to love about this. I love how Jim's feelings for Pam are so evident - it brings back fond memories of early seasons, even with the heartbreak.
I love your take on the hot sauce packet, and Jim's description of Pam "swearing like a Teamster." Pitch perfect. You have them down beautifully.

10 I don't know how you keep doing this. Be honest - you write for the show, yes? Because honestly, it's like you ripped a page right from a script. So in character, such wonderful detail. I don't think I would be able to think of all these challenges, but it's like you could do it without batting an eye. You truly have a knack for writing them, my dear. Well done.

I love how you fast forward a little to their happy ending, and I especially love that you didn't actually write out the card. I think we can all imagine what Jim would have written, and that's enough.
You really capture Jim's...emptiness, sadness of S2. It hurts a little, actually, if I'm being totally honest, but it's okay because it really makes us appreciate where they are now, doesn't it?

10 This was a really great chapter, in a really great story, Little Comment. I like how you gradually built up their comfort level, and that once they finally touched they couldn't seem to stop. The flirty little things - like him touching her shoulders, and her slapping his knee - SO true in situations like this.

Spoilers for the 'Summer Vacation' extras from last year found on NBC.com and some Goodbye, Toby.10 This was a really sweet story, shoutoutloud. We don't often get a peek into these characters, and what you've written here seems right in line with what we know of them. That last one is especially heartbreaking.
And I have to tell you that I totally hear you on those deleted scenes. Poor Dwight broke my heart - especially in Fun Run.

Pam struggles with doubt and suspicion when Jim's behavior over the summer doesn't make sense.very nice, NEJ. I will say I was starting to get a little annoyed with our boy for a minute there, but of course he's Jim and he goes and does something so...him...and I love him again. I love this part:
This is how he shows his love, she thought. He doesn't blow the wedding money on a jet ski, or postpone the date forever. He just quietly goes and makes a home for me. For us. A future.
