Oh this is so cool, VB.  I love the idea. As much as I love Jim coming back to Pam from NY in The Job, I do love the angsty detours that fics like this take - separated for years but still think of one another, and then they make their way back.  Love it.  Can't wait for part two!

Author's Response: Thanks, kells!  You've pretty much summarized my story ... you wanna do part two?  Just kidding.  Thanks for leaving a note!

Oh I love this, callisto.  I swear it's like you filled in a gap in S2 somewhere.  You have their voices down perfectly, and it's nice to see Pam crushing on Jim.  And the visual of him with scruff, and a short sleeve tee over a thermal?  Yummy.  So thanks for that ;) Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thanks kells! I love exploring the after-the-episode possibilities. Hope you like the rest! Thanks for reading. :)

Beautiful.  I loved Jim's inner thought repeating "I'm in love with you." I can imagine he had so many moments like this one where you know he just wanted to tell her.  But you were able to illustrate beautifully that he did tell her, just in a different way.

I love this.  More, please ;)

Author's Response: Thank you kells! That\'s what I was hoping to convey. I\'m glad you liked it! More coming. :)

**sigh**

Another home run.  How are you doing this?  I love this, and I can totally see Pam feeling like he might never forgive her or never realize how much she loves him.

Perfect.

Author's Response: Hey kells! Thanks for that. I live in fear that when I do scenes like this it comes off totally melodramatic. So thanks for the kind words :) it really makes my day! One more to go.

Such a perfect ending, Callisto.  I feel very content after reading that.  Also?  This little bit:

The difference, this time, is that he does that with me, too. I know I’m first in his mind with everything he does, and that makes me want to put him first, too. For the first time I feel like I’m in a real partnership, and it seems like anything is possible.

I loved this.  I think because they really exude that when we see them together.  A partnership - so true.

I also loved the journey you took here w/ little glimpses into the stages their friendship and relationship went through.

Well done.  Very best of luck to you in school, and we'll always look forward to more from you.  Until next time!

Author's Response: Thanks, kells. I agree--they obviously each have the other foremost in their consideration, and what makes a better partnership? I\'m glad you liked this, and i really appreciate all your comments and support throughout this story! Thanks again and I\'ll try not to be gone too long...I have lots of little ideas that need to see the light of day. :D

I really love this, because I think it's completely and totally realistic.  The thing is, there is no guarantee that Pam is going to be some amazing successful artist.  It would be nice, yeah, but the real world can be a tough place sometimes.

Really well done.  And actually if the writers went this way I would find it so refreshing.

Author's Response: I've got a pretty bad track record when predicting future events for this show (although I did guess that she'd leave the wedding with Roy, sorry!)- however, this one wouldn't shock me too much because we need to keep Pam at DM Scranton! Also, this show always gives us the bitter with the sweet; now that they're together and happy, it seems like something bad is waiting around the corner. Maybe that's just me, though. Regardless, thank you so much for reading and commenting!

Oh talktative.  There is so much to love about this.  I love how Jim's feelings for Pam are so evident - it brings back fond memories of early seasons, even with the heartbreak.

I love your take on the hot sauce packet, and Jim's description of Pam "swearing like a Teamster." Pitch perfect.  You have them down beautifully.

Love it, as usual.  Kudos!

Author's Response: Thank you, kells. Like I\'ve said, the S1 & 2 tension is so tasty - I don\'t know why I\'ve never written it before. Hope you enjoy what\'s to come.

I don't know how you keep doing this.  Be honest - you write for the show, yes?  Because honestly, it's like you ripped a page right from a script.  So in character, such wonderful detail.  I don't think I would be able to think of all these challenges, but it's like you could do it without batting an eye.  You truly have a knack for writing them, my dear.  Well done.

Author's Response: Didn\'t mention that I\'m B.J. Novak? I could have sworn... anyway, just don\'t tell anyone alright? NBC\'s got this whole pesky \"contract\" thing and my little side project might interfere with that... Btw, those *^$#@ challenges were the reason this update took so long. I\'m glad it looked effortless, because I spent way too much time at work/laying in bed at night thinking \"Okay, so what could they do with a Boggle timer?\" Honestly, I\'m glad it\'s done.

Oh poor Jim.  It makes it so much sweeter to see him so happy now - these reminders of just how sad and lonely for Pam he was way back when.

Well done, of course.

Author's Response: Thanks, kells. I enjoy the misery; glad I\'m not the only one.

Well I've damn near run out of adjectives to use in your reviews, my friend.  Perfect?  Lovely?  I feel like those have been used so much, and also aren't nearly accurate enough.

I love how you fast forward a little to their happy ending, and I especially love that you didn't actually write out the card.  I think we can all imagine what Jim would have written, and that's enough.

You really capture Jim's...emptiness, sadness of S2.  It hurts a little, actually, if I'm being totally honest, but it's okay because it really makes us appreciate where they are now, doesn't it?

I just love your writing.  There isn't a think you've written that I didn't just adore.  You are truly gifted, and we are lucky that you chose to share it here with us.

Author's Response: Hey, kells - Thank you. I actually *did* write out the card, but I decided not to include it. A weird analogy, but it\'s like a horror movie: anything that you can imagine is going to be better than what I show you. Thanks for noting what I was trying to do with Jim. There\'s something detached and a bit sad about him in that Christmas episode and I wanted to play with that tone. From my perspective, it\'s what drove this entire chapter. Your reviews always flatter, dear. I sincerely appreciate it.

Yay!  Congratulations on your blue ribbon, Little Comment - it is well deserved.  I love this story.  I love how Jim is so nervous about touching her or saying too much - that really rings true because I can totally see him feeling that way after all they'd been through up until this point.  I can't wait to see what happens next.  Moonlight walk in the park?  Sounds romantic......

Author's Response: Thanks Kells! I am honored...and yet confused, as I don\'t really know what a blue ribbon is for. My hubby and I speculated that when I wasn\'t watching this story headed to the county fair and raised a prize cow. Is that it? :) Anyway, thanks for your kind words...having been in a similar situation myself years ago I\'ve always felt like this nervousness and awkwardness would reign supreme. I hope you\'ll be pleased by what comes next!

This was a really great chapter, in a really great story, Little Comment.  I like how you gradually built up their comfort level, and that once they finally touched they couldn't seem to stop.  The flirty little things - like him touching her shoulders, and her slapping his knee - SO true in situations like this.

Really well done, fic!  Welcome to MTT!

Author's Response: Thanks, and thanks! Glad to be here! :) I did try to create that sensation of building throughout the story, so I\'m really glad you mentioned it. I hoped that helped explain my no-sex choice - just like Jim said, it isn\'t morals. Isn\'t religion. They owed to each other. :) Thank you again!

And I have to tell you that I totally hear you on those deleted scenes.  Poor Dwight broke my heart - especially in Fun Run.

This was truly beautiful, coffeevixen!  I love so many things this fic chooses to be, but this in particular:

She lifted her lips to his, and felt white heat and heard twinkling bells and smelled an ocean breeze, and lived in an instant everything else she’d ever associated with heaven.

And I love the comparison to Christmas and birthdays - how true.

Really great work.

very nice, NEJ.  I will say I was starting to get a little annoyed with our boy for a minute there, but of course he's Jim and he goes and does something so...him...and I love him again.  I love this part:

This is how he shows his love, she thought. He doesn't blow the wedding money on a jet ski, or postpone the date forever. He just quietly goes and makes a home for me. For us. A future.

Ahhh....I love it.  Thank you for this :)
