I'm re-reading some of my favorites, and everything you've ever posted here falls into that category. And this struck me:

 

No, it makes me want to go days and days or maybe weeks without seeing him until every face has his features, until I hear his voice in the middle of radio static, until he’s standing at my door and there’s nothing to do but say, “You, you, you,” and let him become half of me again.

She has. She has gone that long now and waiting for him to come back is killing me (and her?). Anyway, this is still beautiful.
