This was amazing; it rang so true and you included so many vivid, clever details.  The scare the baby line is certainly a classic, and Angela is exactly that person who would complain about someone wearing flip flops to the office.  This has been a real treat.

The block is dead!  The block is dead!  Surely one of the greatest uses of airport down time ever.  I was so excited to see you had posted and grinned my way through the whole story.  Per your usual, the scene is vivid and their voices perfect.  Well done.

Well see - there was this guy who said something like..."C'mon.  You don't have some sort of affliction keeping you from writing."   It was kind of like Chinese water torture.  

Except - you know...without the Chinese - or the water.   I had to make it stop. :)

Really great, very much enjoyed it.  More than that, though, it was really thought provoking.  I don't know if you intended it this way, but to me Pam comes off rather badly here.  She seems to turn her back on him; there's almost an implication of "open up to me or I'll stop loving you."  I was angry at her on Jim's behalf.  It worked, though, and the confrontation and reconciliation seemed very much in character and realistic.  I just am not sure we should try Pam's approach at home.  

Author's Response: oooh I did not intend it that way but I really love your view of it. that definitely makes me consider continuing it with one or two additional parts even more. i was approaching it from the POV that Pam doesn\'t want to play games anymore, she\'s been there, done that, she\'s all in, in every way, and she shares her dreams with Jim and just wants the same in return. She\'s not going to settle for less than that anymore. That\'s sort of the FNB that I think we have seen a ton more of this season. I guess she COULD have been more sensitive, however, and I think that\'d be very interesting to explore.\r\n\r\nhmmm... *strokes chin*\r\n\r\nthanks so much for the thought-provoking response, I seriously appreciate it!

Guh.  Nifty stuff, LF.  Great job with the banter.  Happy Pam makes for happy Brokenloon.  And the hilarious Oscar bit at the end was a bonus.

Nice to see you, girl7.  I loved this, of course.  I am an absolute sucker for happy Pam.  And, as much as I love your work, usually happy Pam doesn't come around until after a lot of hard work and 11 chapters or so.  It was nice not to have to work for it this time.  My favorite here was the thought of her being comforted by knowing they would be alone together soon.  Great stuff.  

I liked this a lot...the quick pacing worked, and I found Pam's epiphany realistic.  I do think, though, that Jim would have quickly become very hopeful the second she showed up at his door under these circumstances, rather than assuming she was just there to lean on him again.  That's just a minor complaint, though; I enjoyed this a lot.

Thank you for the feedback. I was a little worried about how quick the timing was, so I'm happy that you liked it. I agree that Jim might be hopeful when Pam shows up, but when she starts ranting about Roy, he'll be a little crestfallen. I might go back and make that change.

Not usually a fan of the second peson format, but this is tremendous.  The characteization is somehow just perfect; the vision you depict here feels just right to me.  I like the overall impression you give of slightly imperfect happiness and the little details too, like Jim butchering the laundry folding.  Excellent work. 

Author's Response: I do think that Jim and Pam are smart enough (and hell, have been *through* enough) to recognize that perfect love doesn\'t exist...Loving someone because of (and not in spite of) their odd imperfections (such as terrible laundry folding abilities) is where it\'s at. While fluffy, this is still so on target and perceptive.  I think they both would be constantly wary of it breaking, disappearing.  And even after their struggles of the past year, they still have that long history of friendship and familiarity to fall back on, so it's as if some aspects of the relationship were already in place.  Keep going! 

You really are able to get way inside these characters; I'm reminded of your Michael piece ofrom a while back.  I tend to not be very sympathetic to Angela, but this had me really feeling for her.  As always, of course, your writing is exceptional.

Well, I like my fluff and perfect Pam but still thought this was pretty great. I think your take on how Pam might think and react here was spot on, and of course the writing has the patented Stablergirl flair that I love so much. Looking forward-perhaps with a little nervousness given your warnings of darkness-to more.

I was so glad to see this posted and like this version a lot.  Even if I didn't feel totally great about every place you took us in this story, I love where you have arrived at.  And of course it is always a pleasure to read your writing...your descriptive powers and the sense of dram you create are always amazing.  Well done.
