Oh, awesome. Sweet and biting at the same time (some very legit criticisms of Pam and Jim), and this line is just great:

This is amaaaaazing! [/Kelly] I love the 2 min. theme and the way David shifts from the CFO to just a guy, and the parallels between him and Jim. Excellent fic.
All of the chapters have been wonderfu, but this is definitely my favorite, so far. I love how you've taken Meredith's alcoholism from the cheap gag it is on the show to a real and deeply sad problem.
Excellent. Everyone's voices are perfect. I love how Michael kept quoting from movies and giggled when Jan touched him- that's so Michael! The Creed/'Mary Beth' thing was hilarious, but this was my favorite line:
“KELLY,” he said sternly, “FOR THE LAST TIME, just... don’t call it Little Ryan, okay?”
She grinned. “Big Ryan?”
“Well... that’s better...”

Oh wow. That was so beautiful- I think you captured one of the parodoxes of the Jim/Pam relationship- that even though Jim might encourage her to do more in her life (art classes, not marrying Roy, etc.), their relationship (in season 3, at least) is still something that's holding Pam back and keeping her tethered in one place. I loved her leaving and moving on, and it being both wonderful and painful. And the idea of Jim as sort of vague legend in her memory, part of her past but not haunting her, is really great. Nice job!

Thanks, when I started this I was completely exasperated by Pam not moving on in the ways that mattered, so this was kind of a product of what I guess was sadness about her situation.

Oh so excellent. I *love* the idea of the silent battle between Pam and Jim over who can hide their thoughts/feelings the best- it ties in so well with their season 2/3 dance. Great job, as always.
Jim would heal. They would talk this through and work it out again. Jim would convince her that he was with her now, and that things would be OK. She had come too far, fought too hard not to let him. Karen knew it would be a long time before Jim made her feel beautiful again.
WOW. This is so perfectly Karen, b/c she's too smart not to realize that she's letting Jim convince her that things are all right when they're not, yet she's too into him and their relationship not to pretend to believe him. And the image of Jim half-hugging Karen while yelling to Roy about how he doesn't deserve Pam is just *perfect* and so wonderfully mirrors his feelings on the show- he clearly only cares for Karen with 1/2 as much passion as he did/does for Pam. Seriously, this whole fic, despite its shortness, is just such an excellent character analysis of Pam, Jim and Karen. Kudos to you.
Oh, how I love this, let me count the ways. I *love* the contrast b/w the Beesley relationship and the Halpert relationship, and how the differences reflect the differences in Pam and Jim's personalities. I *love* seeing the similarities between the parents and their children- I can imagine Jim saying everything his father did to his own wife. I *love* the idea of Jim reverting back to a little kid for a bit and asking his mommy if you can fake a kiss; it's seems like something he would do in such a vulnerable and saddended state. Overall, really great fic and a really original idea, too. Please write more!
To quote a little David Cassidy - I think I love you. Just kidding. Thank you so much! What I actually did to create the characters of Jim's parents was take my parents, add some Jam and frappe. I'm planning on posting a few more chapters this week if I can get to it.
I loved them talking in person- it works really well b/c Jim can be very physically expressive, and you really have to see him to know what he's thinking.
“I think I’ve been spoiled,” Jim said suddenly.
“I don’t know what impression you’re under,” Mrs. Halpert answered, “but you’re not even our favorite child, so I doubt it.”

Jim had always been cautious when it came to girls. Despite his best efforts, he'd ended up with a girlfriend his junior year, Missy. Larissa could remember him coming home from school one day, almost hyper-ventilating because she'd left books in his locker and what was that about? They'd only gone to the movies a few times and now he felt like he had to take down his Jennifer Love something or other poster.
Hilarious, and it makes Jim's feelings for Pam all the more sweeter. I love how Jim's mom, like the rest of the world, can see that Pam's into Jim, but he can't. Silly boy. Can't wait for more chapters.
Yes, keep going! I love fics that involve Pam's mother- she's obvsiouly very impt to Pam and I always wondered what she thought of the Jim/Pam relationship. I really love the parallels you've drawn b/w Pam and her mom. And Pam's only adjective for Jim, at first, being "tall" is just hilarious. Great start.
It was so infrequent that the television not be on Spike TV that she was taking what she could get.
That sounds so much like how I imagine Roy and Pam's home life to have been. Another great chapter.

I really like this explanation of why Pam left Roy- it so perfectly encompasses all of the Jim issues and all of the non-Jim ones, like how R&P have grown apart, Roy doesn't support her dreams, etc.
A shockingly accurate post-cocktails fic written during the hainous. Jim rebuffs Pam's apologies and while distraught at the grocery store she meets a handsome stranger who catches Karen's eye too.
EPILOGUE ADDED :) STORY FINISHED! I had to change it to Explicit Sexual Content so avoid the epilogue if that isn't really your thing.
I really hate it when Karen is vilified (sp?) in fics, so I love the image of her handing Pam a tissue. Great start.
