I loved this, you said it's been done before, but this was by far the best :) YAY I love your fics, write more, screw real life :)

Oh, I loved this story! I so wish we had a scene like this in the show... I guess they had more fun torturing us, huh? Oh well, in my mind this is a deleted scene!

Another lovely story, Callisto! I'm so glad there are writers like you willing to tackle the angst head on. Very realistic scenario for what happpened. I love Jim's last line about not taking the bluetooth off until she got home.

Has it been done already? Well, yours is the first I read... and I love it.

I really like this. I like seeing things from Pam's point of view because I feel like we've been seeing this season from Jim's point of view the whole time. I like that Pam is adamant about what she wants, even if the face of Jim's offering to move to NYC if that's what makes her happy. And I really like that Pam called Jim on him turning off the Bluetooth when he got his bad reviews. Neither one of them is very good at talking about the "bad" stuff and it's time they learn. Great work!

All I can say is that Pam had BETTER have said exactly this. Exactly this. You capture their voices and, more importantly, the emotions of a moment like this perfectly.
Author's Response: Well, we'll never know, most likely, but I hope her reaction was similar to this. Thanks for the kind words, nqllisi, I appreciate it, and I'm glad you liked it. :)

You're wonderful.
Also, Jim remained silent for a second and then said quietly, “Don’t.”
Was he talking to me or Dwight? “Jim?”
“Just a second.”...“You need to leave us alone for a minute,” he said sharply, and then, more softly, “Please.”
These lines from Jim set the mood for how significant the conversation is; if neither of them are deflecting and getting right into it then you know something is up. The characters rarely break the third wall, so these lines were great. And they just killed me. Jim's "Please?"- still being polite even though he's probably freaking out.
I love the thought you put into everything you write.
Author's Response: Hey variella! You're too kind. Like I told LoveFool, I don't usually write anything where the reality of the cameras has to be addressed, so I'm glad that worked. Thanks for such a great review, I appreciate it! :O)
Date: November 09, 2008 04:59 pm Title: the choices we make
Gosh I love this. That first line of Jim's when he tells the cameras to leave...something about that -- very hot. And the West Nowhere, Texas line is a classic. Loved your characterizations and beautifully written. Well done!
Author's Response: Hi LoveFool! Thank you so much. I don't usually write anything where the cameras are around, so I'm glad that bit worked for you. Not that I want to torture him or anything but I do like Upset!Jim. His face just killed me in that last scene. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! :)

Um, Callisto, why again are you not writing for this show? If we do see the fallout from "that" scene, I would like it to go something like this. But I would also like to see very R-rated stuff when it comes to Jim & Pam (I know, pervy), but a girl can dream, right? Or just read a lot of fanfic, I guess. ;-)
Author's Response: Why hello there Mountaineers! Hey, if you can find a way to get me THAT gig, just let me know! I'm sure they'll never show us this conversation but I hope my take on it is basically the direction they're aiming for. Glad you liked it! It is too bad this show isn't on HBO, isn't it... :)

Oh, love! Of course she can be an artist in West Nowhere! I love her saying "come get me" - awww, Pam! Some really wise fanfic author (colette) gave me this wisdom: it doesn't matter if a topic's been done. You bring your own views and your own unique language to it that make it distinct. And I like the title!
Author's Response: Hi Sweetpea! Colette is a wise woman indeed, and I will be remembering that. And I really hope we see Pam come home soon. (Like, this week. But I'm a dreamer...) I'm glad you liked this. Thank you for reviewing! I appreciate it. :)

Ah, Ms. Callisto, just proving why you have a spot on my favorites list. Excellent little rollercoaster ride there. So glad you shared this. You have me teary thinking of poor Jim and then laughing at cheesy TV lines. Glad that you had Pam call Jim out on disconnecting the call during his review. Sharp lady, that Beesly...and so are you : ) Great job, as always.
Author's Response: What is it about the angst that gets me motivated? I blame it on Jim's face and "don't" in the last scene. And yeah, I didn't think Pam was gonna let that 'lost call' slide. :) Thanks for the review Nan, and welcome back from Disneyland! (or was it Disney World? in any case, welcome back.)

While some of us blathered on the board this morning about this situation, you went and artfully summed it up in a neat little fic. Very clever ;-) I like Pam catching Jim with the Meredith Grey line. And hooray for being an artist in West Nowhere Texas. Damn right.
Author's Response: Hi Colette! I had my own thoughts on this all along. And four hours of free time at work yesterday with the network down. Nothing against New York, of course, but I think our girl has a pretty good life waiting for her in podunk Scranton. Thanks for reviewing! :)

That was great! I loved it! Very well written and as always....excellent grasp on the characters!
Author's Response: Thanks jinxcoke! I appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

I'm so glad you did decide to put it up. I was just thinking about Alex and what that conversation meant for Jim and Pam earlier today, and this basically crystallized everything I was already thinking. Then it went even further, and got way better than anything I could have come up with. I really enjoyed it!
Author's Response: Hi Blanca! I think all will be well, but they'll never show us, will they? And I thought Pam was too sharp to let that hang-up slide. I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reviewing :)

Thank you. My heart was just aching for Jim at the end of Customer Survey. This helps it a lot because I can just see this conversation really happening. :)
Author's Response: Thanks Cheeb. I'm convinced there's nothing to worry about. I'm also convinced they won't be nice enough to let us in on a conversation like this. Glad you liked it! :O)

Awwww, yay! Pam's right - doesn't matter if Alex is into her or not. She's all about Jim. And love "West Nowhere, Texas."
Author's Response: Heck yeah, she's all about Jim! The real conflict has nothing to do with Alex--it's all about what she wants to do with her career. Glad you liked my silly Texas reference. Thanks for the review! :)

God, this makes me feel better about the episode a bit. It was such a scary moment and I hate that they don't show things that obviously would have happened- like Jim and Pam's dual voice mails that would have prompted them to call each other right away, or them discussing this. I hope something like this has happened and is talked about in the next episode.
That was a lot of rambling. Long story short, I loved it, thank you for writing it and upholding my sanity =)
Author's Response: Don't worry, flonkerton. All will be well, I just know it. At least... I think so. I wish they'd let us in on their conversation, but since they no doubt won't, I hope it went something like this. Glad you liked it. Thanks for reviewing!! :)

I'm glad you did post this. Sure, there are other post-Customer Survey stories, but this is special in its own way. I really liked seeing Pam not waver in this one. She really has grown and has enough self-confidence in herself to know what she wants and not be swayed by someone else's opinion. Nice job.
Author's Response: Thanks nimblejack. I'm glad you liked my take on it. I'm hoping she's as resolute on the show as I've made her here :)

I really love this line:
No, there wasn’t really any consideration of Jim in his advice, was there.
I love how you convey that Alex doesn't understand them, and that some people never will. This is wonderfully written. Thank you for giving me a little light at the end of the tunnel known as Thursday.
Author's Response: Thanks NoFireworks. That line you pointed out was something that really bothered me about his whole speech. I'm hoping it bothered Pam too. Thanks for the review! :)

Perfect.
Best line:
"No, he doesn’t know. You have to tell him."
This is the most important part of the Fancy New Beesly. I love how she called him on the hanging up when he got a bad review, too. Jim is making progress in the same areas, but he's a stride behind FNB. I thought you tapped just the right tone - very realistic. May it actually happen.
Author's Response: Hey jazzfan! I like to think there are sometimes those moments where they each realize they have to TELL each other what they are thinking. It seems like mostly they do that (thank God). But I agree, that bugged me when Jim hung up on her and I didn't think she'd believe him. Thanks so much for reviewing! As you know, it means a lot to get feedback. :)
Date: November 09, 2008 08:38 am Title: the choices we make
Just what I needed. Very realistic, too. I think that Jim is probably concerned now that he's holding her back, but Pam doesn't see it that way at all.
Still, the wait to find out is tough, and this made my heart a little lighter. Perfect, as usual! Thank you :)
Author's Response: Glad you liked it kells. This is my hope that the angst they left us with is just a prelude to Pam coming home. Thanks for the review!! :)

Nice, I loved that Pam acknowledged she's alredy lived with regret. Thanks for a happy ending.
Author's Response: Yeah, I think Pam's had enough regret. And I am a sucker for the happy ending. :) Thanks for reviewing!

Very perfect timing, btw. I had just typed to a friend I wanted to read what happened after Alex the jerk stopped by, and so this was great timing. But even if its been done a thousand times, I still like reading it. And you captured it perfectly. What Jim's reaction would be, what Pam's reaction would be, mentioned them getting away from the cameras. And even still, keeping them joking and at least happy andstill talking about what it is.
So great job :)
Author's Response: Hi EmilyHalpert! Now I don't really see Alex as a jerk (necessarily), just misguided, and I disagreed completely with his argument (was that too obvious? :) haha). Thanks for reviewing, I wasn't sure about even putting this one up.
