I loved it. I loved how he admitted to missing her art show to hurt her - you worded it perfectly!

Okay, the banter MADE this chapter. Wow. It was so spot-on, just perfect. Nicely done!

"It was pure happiness that was making her feel tipsy."
Yeah, I think my pure happiness over those two is giving me a tipsy feeling... sad? yeah probably.

"his voice taking on that gravely tone that made her want to just grab him sometimes."
Oh yeah, I know that tone... in fact I may have to go listen to a few quotes and whatsthescuttlebutt just to hear it.... Jim is just so amazing.

Okay, so I am going to try not to quote every line, but its so sad, because, as I said above, those two happy - seriously insane. So much that reading about them happy brings tears to my eyes. This is when I start to realize I need a real life. One that exists outside my tv and computer.

"You know how you've got in your mind like the perfect thing that you want to say...but when you try and put it into words you just know it's gonna come out like Charlie Brown's teacher is saying it?...And you also know that as soon as the person leaves you're gonna know exactly how to say it. You'll actually say it to yourself like a crazy person, just to prove that you can do it."
YES! I hate that feeling cause it so always happens. Its like the worst, most evil thing in the world! Its like, worse than... everything!

(see, its now quoting like every 3rd line, not every other line!)

"Pam was the kind of girl who would prank someone and then afterwards when her conscience kicked in, would let them know that she'd brewed their favorite flavor of coffee in the break room."
That is so sweet, a nice little character trait for Pam. It is just so perfect.

Okay, so if it wasn't obvious, I loved every single letter and punctuation mark of this chapter. I can't even say anything else besides that.

The only thing I am curious about (is maybe because I am a bit dense?) - what is BHC?

I could see her locking herself in the bathroom to cry tears of joy.She can be so emotional at times with eyes.

Oh Ms. LoveFool.  I'm so glad to see a first date fic from you.  Yeah it's a tad angsty but they have a lot to talk through so I'm OK with it.

Looking forward to the happy ending. :)

There will be one...right???

This is so very nice, and so very how their first date should be...they've got a lot to catch up on. I liked the whole part about the art show- very big of Jim to admit why he didn't go.
Yaaay, LoveFool!

Wow...that was beautiful.  I love that Pam was so overcome with emotion but Jim couldn't understand it...very true to life.  Wonderful story!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!!! I hope to continue to keep it true to life and the characters. Please let me know what you think with the following chapters! Thanks for the review!

Well, if this isn't the sweetest thing. I love Jim's need to come clean with Pam and how she's still surprising him with her FNB self. Him standing outside the bathroom door, not knowing what to do or say and just...needing her to know that he knows he has a lot of 'splaining to do - perfect, delicious, vintage Jim. Thanks for this happy pill!

Author's Response: There's something just sexy to me about Jim doing a little groveling and not that I really wanted him to be pathetic about it...but just...yum. I'm glad you enjoyed that as well. I think FNB will continue to do some surprising throughout! Thanks Colette!

Aww I loved the first date even if it did involve Pam hiding in the bathroom crying.  Jim's admission was so sweet and I loved the hand holding

Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: So glad you enjoyed it JR! More to come soon!!!

this is so sweet, and in character......And, on a subtle note that should NEVER be spoken aloud....poor Jim got used to having to "talk out" every.  little.   thing.     It's going to take him a while to get used to being with Pam and getting back into their "water under the bridge" dynamic.

Author's Response: Lol. It's funny you mention that because I very nearly titled this fic: One Night of Talking...Not Too Shabby...............Buuuut decided against it. lol. Thanks so much for the review Maybe Once!

Wow. I just loved how you worked the Pam smiling her face off -- transition to tears in her eyes moment into this.  And the Dwight-pervert picture.  Just sweet and tender and true to character.  Lovely.

Author's Response: aww, thank you Lisahoo! I just will NEVER forget that moment of the season finale...Pam's face for me was just perfection. Still think Jenna should take home an emmy for that. So I had to try and riff on that a little. Thanks so much for the feedback.

As usual, I loved it - I love anything you write.  I love the image I get of Jim sitting in his apartment holding the art show flyer.

However - I've got to ask - what does the BHC in the title stand for?  I've read this several times and I just don't get it - what am I missing?

Author's Response:

in The Job, Andy coined "Big Hair Cut" for Jim because of the new haircut, instead of his usual Big Tuna. I found that so hilarious for some reason that I had to make use of it even if it was just in the title...

That imagery of Jim sitting in his apartment with the flyer got to me too. Just something so sad about him at the end of the day knowing what could have been...ugh. Thanks for the review Kells!

So good!  You really capture a lot of the nerves and apprehension of the moment. I loved how Jim stood outside of the washroom trying to babble everything to Pam.  Most excellent. Perfectly Jim and Pam.

Author's Response: Thanks StarryDreamer!! That was definitely my favorite part of the chapter - was Jim's restroom confession...or outside of the restroom confession. Thanks a bunch!

Wonderful...I think there would be this dynamic, Jim being anxious to talk and apologize and Pam just being so happy she hardly knows what to do with herself.  It's fun to read about anyway.  A big smile from reading your work as always.

Author's Response: Thanks Broken. I was having a lot of trouble getting this to be something that I really liked - especially this first part, so I'm certainly happy to hear that it worked for you!

This awkwardness = love.  Hand holding = love.  So much to squee about!  :)

Author's Response: hehehe, thanks mcmuffins. Hopefully you'll be squeeing just as much in the next chapter! Thanks for the review!
