Jim finds strength. Again.
I really like this. Nice parallel with Jim's 12-yr-old self. I love the ambiguity at the end of this line:
The tears were forming and his hands started shaking and he knew he had to end this now.
"That had better not be your question, Dwight," she intoned coldly...
I laughed so hard at that.
This is just great, Lis - every one of their voices sounded true, and the premise was completely believable in their universe. Awesome!
That's great, TV_Buffy! Simple but original idea - terrific :)
Author's Response: Thanks, shan! I appreciate the feedback!
"He used to dream about her all the time."
Oh, that's lovely!
Author's Response:
Aw, thank you!!!!
Just wonderful. Your stories are like soft exhalations: quiet, intimate, incredibly insightful. I just love them!
So this started in my mind as a little one shot (cue mocking laughter). Of course it expanded to a little more. It's pure speculation on my part, and is probably quite off. :o)

It's fantastic how you've captured each of their dilemmas here. Great!
Author's Response: Thanks so much - and I'm loving your Paper Princess story!
I love the moment when Pam turns the corner. And I love Michael here - awesome ;)
Author's Response: I love sweet, compassionate, grown up Michael....because I love Steve Carell. :o) Thanks for the review!
Ah, Jim's angst on the dance floor is great. Yay for confessions and kissing in the hall :)
Author's Response: Yay for kissing in the hall indeed! I'd love to see a moment like that on the show (but I suspect we probably never will....sigh.).
Eeeee! I love Phyllis. It makes me a little sad that she never actually says she loves Bob. But you have her voice down perfectly - looking forward to clicking "Next"!
Author's Response: I love her too and I didn't mean to not have her say she loves Bob! Perhaps I'll go back and edit. But in the end it's really all about manipulating Pam back with Jim!
Nice! Good Creed voice. "A horse with no name" - awesome :)
Author's Response:
Thanks! But I wonder how many of the young folk will get that reference?!
Love both POVs. Good job here!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Awesome, bitterpill! I love stories that give flashes of a moment - your words are economical but very effective. Plus, you have their voices down. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it:)
Oooh, nice start, Krissy! I love the little details you've put in here. It makes me laugh to think Janie might tower over Pam ;) I don't know why. Just makes me giggle.
Author's Response: Thanks Shan!! I loved the idea of her having Pam's hair and talent and Jim height...the idea made me giggle as well.
Nice Angela!
And parental!Jam...
Yum.
That sounds like something my dad would say - when he's - you know - making fun of your dad.
Nice!
And, oh, Dwight, it isn't all about you! Nice Dwight voice - "we need to approach this strategically." Hee :)
Hee! You know after I started this I really thought I'd hate it. It's so hard to imagine their offspring in any realistic way. I decided that they'd both think their respective parents were a bit bonkers and bond over it. :)
Thanks Shan!
"Yeah – well. You're beautiful."
Spoken like a true son of Dwight :)
Sneaking away from my work to say "Awesome job", again! The image of Jim pering through the blinds is LOL funny. Hee. And cookies!!! Good for Dwight :) And good for our young lovebirds. Yay ;)
Author's Response: Thanks Shan! Glad I could break up your work day. I just thought that image was too cute to pass up. And though the cookies reference brings squickish things to mind (HA!) - they do say there is someone for everyone! ;)
Yay - Dwight enamored with Jane! And the "Fact." proposal. Awesome :)
Author's Response:
Of course he wouldn't be able to resist finding out all Jim's secrets - not like Jane would actually reveal any. LOL!
Thanks Shan!
This is a really intriguing idea. Fantastic. And...
Sometimes, when no one else is around, Jim likes to hold her and trace the words on her skin with his fingertips and sing the lyrics back to her.
Yes, please. :)
Sometimes his life would be easier if he didn't have to look at her all day.
These are great! I especially love #2. "Her reaction is this:..." is just awesome. I really like your prose.
Great POV. Thanks for some backstory on Jan!
Author's Response:
Thanks:)
This picks up pre-merger and is spoiler free, a bit AU as well. I began this back in October (maybe even September), and obviously the show has deviated quite a bit from what I speculated here.
This begins with angst, but there is a great deal of fluff, steam, smut, and silly...for several, several chapters. My idea was to go beyond the happy ending, so to speak.

Author's Response: Thanks!
Nice! I like how you've described how static Pam is - I was annoyed with her right along with Jim!
And, damn, you're so fast! You win!
Awesome! I love ExplodingHead!Jim ;) Great voices for these two, too.
Author's Response:
HA! Thank you! I love him, too.
Fantastic. I feel like I just got to know Karen much better. Nice progression (and regression)!
