Jim's almost gotten used to narrating his life into a camera lens for the consumption of strangers. Like having a blog, but more embarrassing.
10 Ok, so yeah, it was a little bit contrived and self-indulgent, but that didn't stop me from loving it. It was FUN! And sweet and entertaining and a really good read.
Also, I think "For me and a domestic partner, so, you know, good to have that angle taken care of. It's this big honor, really great for my career. As, um, a paper salesman." Sometimes his life makes him sad. He hears the camera zoom in on his face, so, you know, awesome." is one of the most well-crafted paragraphs I've read in a long time, and there were a lot of lovely lines in here, so thank you.
Jim and Pam have forgotten how to breathe. This was awesome. I could feel the nervous shock and anticipation. Nice work.

A bridge between Casino Night and GWH, with some projection beyond. :) Author does not read spoilers or watch previews. Chapter 1 "M" for language; chapter 2 "MA". This was pretty perfect. Chapter 1 was great, beause it felt so true. That must have been exactly what the break up and those first few months alone must have been like, and your characterizations were spot on. And chapter 2...well, that was just icing on the cake, and I loved the time stamps.

Written in response to the Evening Coming (aka the Scarf) challenge. Not usually one for prompts, but this one got me thinking.
This story knocks the breath out of me, it's that perfect. You manage to pack in so much emotion, and everything feels so tangible. From her sadness (and a hint of anger) about his leaving to the roller coaster of emotions after his return to the sinking despair that it wasn't what she hoped for to that beautiful scene in the parking lot (and GOD I would have loved to have seen something like that in the show!) to that beautiful ending that just feels like such a relief because all that misery melts away. Somehow you manage to cram a complete mental catharsis into 3000 words, which seriously impresses the hell out of me.
Author's Response: It's great to hear your reaction to this, because I really wanted that complete arc to come through - but succinctly, by hitting the right emotional notes, rather than belaboring them. I'm not much for complicated plots - as a writer and a reader I tend more towards understated small moments/interactions that pack an emotional wallop (at least that's how I try to write)...so, it's so encouraging when a reviewer says they felt something like that. Now I'm rambling...so, I'll stop. But thanks so much pigeon, for your wonderful comments.

So I just wandered into your story, and so far I'm loving it. Hysterical, great characterizations (I feel the Karen love just rolling off of you in waves!) and I have to give you mad props for the Busom Buddies reference. Also, "I'm putting my faith in God and antibiotics" is pure literary gold and possibly a nice slogan for Merideth's headstone.
Just when I think you have Merideth going a little too over the top, I remember the "not much fruit in those looms" line, and I realize that you really did nail her personality perfectly. The fake chain smoking was hilarious.
I love this story and have been devouring it with a silly grin plastered to my face because it's just so clever, but I'm starting to feel aprehensive thet I'll be running out of chapters soon...Still, it's a very fun ride.

I see you haven't revisited this story in awhile, so you may be over it, but I had a great time reading what you've done so far, and I would be very excited if you ever decided to come back and update. And if not, thanks for all of this, it was really entertaining.
Also, if you're having a hard time coming up with an ending, you can just have Jim and Pam have sex in the parking lot of the restaurant. I would be satisfied with that ending.
And maybe Karen can get hit by a car.

Awesome use of Dwight, and totally something I could see him doing. Loved the line about bringing balance to the force, because you know in his crazy mind he would think that it would be unfair to challenge his nemesis Jim in such a weakened state. Cute fic!
Yup, it’s a post-Cocktails fic! With a bit of a twist. Karen does a bad thing, and Jim is about to suffer the consequences…Oh yes, that was exactly how it should have happened. I always thought the end of Cocktails was anticlimatic, I like your version much better.That was awesome. Chaotic and tense and funny and romantic all at the same time. I can't decide if my favorite part was Jim hitting Roy (yay!) or Karen's reactions or Dwight's visual inspection, the whole thing was just really amazing. Thanks for such an entertaining read.

I know I'm late to the party, but I wanted to let you know that I had a lot of fun reading this story. There were so many classic lines in here, but I think my absolute favorite was Dwight offering to dispose of the squirrel with his handy slingshot - just such great timing there! And of course now I'm thinking about Jim in uniform and I won't be able to concentrate on anything else for the rest of the day...so thanks!
He should've been happy that Karen had finally warmed up to his joking ways. He wasn't.That was a perfect way to counteract the angst. I liked how you handled Karen; she was always more interesting that "the woman who stole Jim away" and I thought the break up scene was touching. I liked the way you had this come full circle from the prank idea in the first chapter to the fluffy, happy, adorable ending. The blog entries were also very well written. Thanks for this.
Sweet! The e-mails were my favorite, but I think the whole thing had a nice flow to it, especially at a time in the show when the whole love triangle situation was getting tiresome anyway. I liked they way you didn't go too over the top with declarations of love, but still got the point across. It made it feel more authentic. Thanks for this!
