I really liked this! It's sad, but I love seeing Jim and his daughter. I'd love to see them watching the documentary and him talking to her about it - the story of Jim and Pam...

Good morning! Wow, what a way to start the day before I have to go to work. Let's see them try to top it.
Author's Response:
With next week being the end of November sweeps, I really hope they do top it. (That's what she said.)
Thanks for reading!!

I love Pam thinking she'd love all the imperfections. I remember a friend telling me once that you have to love someone because of their quirks, not in spite of them.
Author's Response: Yes, exactly. Perfection is highly overrated, if you ask me ;-) Thanks so much andtheivy!

I'm loving this so far. I lived in Chicago last year (well, Evanston, if you want to get technical)and all the Chi-town references are making me nostalgic. I really enjoy the Pam/Angela friendship and the way you're keeping Angela's personality but fleshing out her warmer side. And I love the slow burn happening between Jim and Pam. Keep going!
Author's Response: I\'m oh so cold and miserable up here in Chi-town. :( I bet you don\'t miss the winters here- that is unless you moved somewhere else up North where in that case, Cheers to 5 long months of cold weather! Haha. Thanks for all the kind comments, I\'m happy you\'ve enjoyed it so far. I\'ve always thought Jenna and Angela\'s friendship in real life is just too adorable for words, so I\'m trying to bring a little of that out in my story while keeping a little \"Angela Martin\" in there as well. :)
Date: December 13, 2008 Title: Chapter 8: Hearts on Fire
Great job. I'm loving so much of this. I can't wait to see Jim explain himself for his douchebaggery (busy, my foot - how long does it take to send a quick Facebook message). And, oh, if you feel the need to bring on smut, I won't object (haha).
P.S. re: Chicago and cold - I lived near the lake and don't miss the wind! I'm actually in the South now and missing snow, but I'm from upstate NY, about an hour from the Western Mass border and a straight shot down from Quebec, so I'm used to the Canadian front Nor'easters.
Author's Response: Jim was being so duchist! (I so love that word, had to use it.) But I\'m sure there\'s a reason. Perhaps he\'ll tell us? \r\n\r\nI\'m very, very nervous about bringing on the smut. I\'ve never attempted writing it before... I guess I\'ll have to see where the characters take me. ;) \r\n\r\nThe weather outside is downright miserable today. I\'m being pelted with rain bullets! I hope the South is treating you a lot better. If you say you\'re in Texas right now, that would be pretty weird because I just moved from there over a year ago. I miss it terribly.
Date: December 14, 2008 Title: Chapter 9: This is the Thing
Oooh...very sneaky implying at the beginning that they'd slept together and then have it not be the case. Artful. I like it.
Date: December 14, 2008 Title: Chapter 10: Home is Where You Hang Yourself
I'm loving it!
Date: December 16, 2008 Title: Chapter 12: Big Jumps
Love the part about making love work. It's not always cheerful or jubilant or blissful, but when love is worth it, it's worth the trouble that can arise. Love Jim and Pam seeing the possibilities in each other
Author's Response: Thank you, I\'m glad you liked their little conversation and the discussion over the possibility of them being able to fall in love with each other one day. I had hoped it would be seen as more realistic than the whole idea of love being this amazing fairy tale. Thanks for the review!
Date: December 18, 2008 Title: Chapter 14: Cheer Me Up, Thank You
Well I think Jim handles Pam's worship of his penis very well indeed. And I think there should be more of it.
I love the Angela/Pam friendship in this story. I'd love to see more Angela/Jim interaction. She's got such a great bullshit detector, I feel like Jim would be kind of afraid of her and I'd love to see him getting the Angela stamp of approval.
Oh, and I can't remember if I said this before, but can Jim and Pam please go for brunch at 11 City Diner? (South Loop, 11th and Wabash).
Author's Response: I have a feeling you will be getting both of those wishes very soon as far as Angela/Jim interaction and 11 City Diner. The next chapter I\'ve mapped out has Jim and Pam eating breakfast and I already had a place in my head, but after checking out 11 City online, I have decide to move them over there instead. Just for you! You have me wanting to go there for brunch this weekend. If only the weather wasn\'t so awful.
Date: December 23, 2008 Title: Chapter 16: Obstacle 1
Haha, thanks for the shout out! I love 11 City. The lox and latkes are fantastic. Speaking of Communist, have you ever been to Orange? Their menu literally says something like "if you want to make your own, go to a restaurant with golden arches." They are a NO SUBSTITUTIONS place. Total gem for a veghead like me (or not).
Anyway...great chapter again. I loved Jim's bitching about the newspaper. I'm a journalist (a real one, not just an "I write a blog") and I completely empathized with everything he said.
Finally, I love Angela in this story. She's so similar yet different to how she is on the show. And her test of Jim was hilarious. As was Pam's order at 11 City. My word! I hope she can hold all that food. As Joey on "Friends" said, vomiting stories aren't funny.
Author's Response: I\'ve never been to Orange, but it sure sounds like a stand up place. Haha.
I totally watched that episode of Friends yesterday where Rachel put beef in the trifle and Joey mentioned \"Vomiting stories aren\'t funny...\" So weird. Vomit tux! Vomit tux!Thank you for the review, and thanks again for the recommendation. I keep begging the hubby to take me to 11 City. Perhaps once the weather warms up a bit.
Date: January 09, 2009 Title: Chapter 22: Your Birthday Present
Happy birthday to Jim, indeed.
Warning: R-rated comment:
My EX-boyfriend used to enjoy demanding "happy birthday b***jobs" (365 days a year). The demands were not met (what lady likes having those kinds of demands made?) If he'd been more like Jim, one might have been more eager to make his day, birth or not, happier.
*sigh* every girl should have a Jim...
Author's Response: What kind of guy demands that kind of service 365 days a year? Sounds like he needs to join some kind of BJ-Addiction Anonymous. Or, he needs to take some tips from Mr. Jim Halpert and find out everything he is doing right because I concur! Every girl should have a Jim. And if I had a Jim, I would never leave the house. So hopefully, I would have won the lottery or something because I would keep my Jim, chained to my bed, and... Well, I\'ve already taken this response to far, haven\'t I?
Date: January 13, 2009 Title: Chapter 25: Twenty-five
Yeah, so here's the thing: I'm going to abandon all dignity and pretty much just BEG you to write a sequel to this. (Hint: a wedding is a good place to start). Seriously, down on my knees.
Oh, and nice engagement sex. And nice proposal. I'm kind of glad Jim wasn't in the empty apartment surrounded by candles and flowers. It's been done.
Author's Response: Yay! I\'m glad you were pleased with the proposal. Major creative block there since it seems like almost every engagement has been done, so I prayed that it wouldn\'t be too cheesy and that it would go over well.
Oh yes, a sequel. I know, I know- this A/U Pam and Jim are only getting started on their journey and still have plenty more to share. I definitely feel that way, and I have a few ideas here and there. I promise, I will get started on a brainstorming tree and bust out the Venn diagrams and hopefully something will come to fruition soon. He-he.

Oh yeah, me too! Definitely wanted to shake them. I wish so much that we'd actually gotten to see that first date and them (hopefully) actually talking stuff out. Looking forward to the breakthrough!
Author's Response: Glad you\'re sticking with it. There will be some actual conversation soon enough. Thanks for reading! :)
Date: December 12, 2008 Title: Chapter 1: impending doom
Gah! More! Must have more! I love confrontation Jam.
Author's Response: More to come! Thanks for reading. :)
I've been thinking of a way to continue a story I started here called "A Century Ends", but I figured out that I wrote myself into a corner that I could not escape from. So I'm taking parts of that story and incorporating them into this one. Everything that happened thru season two has happened in this "universe". But after that, aside from the fact that Jim transferred to Stamford and came back with Karen when the branches merged, it's AU. Hope you like it.

Innnnteresting.... I can't wait to see where Pam is in her life now.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading. I don't think we'll be too surprised at her field of work.

Date: May 02, 2009 Title: Chapter 24: Just Watch the Fireworks
Oh...I'm sad it's coming to an end, and hope there will be more! By the way, you have me freaking out that I don't have enough savings to put a down payment on a house. Not that I'm looking for one at this time, but if I was, I'd be screwed.
Date: May 02, 2009 Title: Chapter 23: The Lost Art Of Humiliating Childhood Games
Yes! Sequel! More!
I love this world of Jim and Pam. Please keep going.
Date: January 28, 2009 Title: Chapter 5: Six Days, Many Sleepless Nights
It's so geeky how excited I get when a new chapter is posted.
Well, I'm loving this. You're being so realistic about domestic life for Jim and Pam - it's hard! I really appreciate that they're not all blissed out but also not yelling and breaking up. It's an adjustment.
I also really love Jim's stress with his job. I'm a journalist and it really can be a crazy, stressful experience. I can't wait to see what's going on (I have an idea, but in case I'm right, I won't spoil it for anyone else). More soon, please!
Author's Response: I\'m so happy to hear that you\'re still enjoying the story. I\'m glad you\'re enjoying a slightly different glimpse at the lives of Jim and Pam, as they try to get adjusted to living together while struggling through the stress of the early beginnings of their career. It\'s just so much at once for those two, and it\'s taking them awhile to learn that tackling things as a team would make things slightly easier at home. I\'m glad you can relate to Jim\'s life as a journalist, although I\'m sorry you have to deal with all that stress.
Next chapter features Jim in the journalism room, so you\'ll have to let me know how realistic the whole situation comes off as- it was all hopeful assumptions, and based off what I\'ve seen in movies, like Michael Keaton in \"The Paper\", or \"All the President\'s Men\"... and that one show on MTV about the school newspaper. (What? I didn\'t watch that.)
Date: February 19, 2009 Title: Chapter 1: Dinner at Eight in the Suburbs
I literally make excited noises when I see a new chapter of this story come up. It's almost sad, but if I'm having a crappy day, a new chapter can cheer me up.
Some AU are just preposterous, but I love how you've managed to make the characters different yet hold on to their true essence. I freakin' LOVE drunk Pam and Jim handling her. And the way Jim interacts with Pam's girlfriends is great. I think I forgot to say a long time ago, I love the choice to make Karen Pam's friend and not an obstacle between them. It's just sharp and witty and touching and so good. I hope you have many more plans for this story. We're talking epic length...okay, have to stop gushing, need to go to work. So good!
Date: February 28, 2009 Title: Chapter 17: Take Out Some Insurance On Me
See, what I love about this story is that you do such a good job capturing both the special moments and the everyday. In fact, you find the special in the everyday. There really is no imaginable end point here. It's not like this has just been building up to a wedding. I mean, it has been, but I'm even more interested in seeing their married life (however, please feel free to write a wedding night chapter). Anyway, you make the daily life really beautiful and I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: Aw, your review has me smiling from ear-to-ear. This was such an amazing treat to read, thank you. This story has been so much fun to write, and I\'m glad that you enjoy reading about their day-to-day routines, no matter how non-adventurous they may be sometimes. And you\'re right, this hasn\'t always been just building up to a wedding, but sending them off into their future. Their own happily ever after, if you will. ;) Thank you so much for reading, and thank you for the lovely review.
