I'm 22 year old, substitute teacher in Louisiana, who's watched The Office obsessively since the middle of the third season. The friendship between Jim and Pam has always been one of my favorite parts and after discovering fanfic a few monts ago, I decided to sign up and share some of my ideas. Hope you enjoy!

Just wanted you to know that this is pretty much my favorite thing I've read on this website. It's the first thing I'm rating a 10. I guess I just love Jim and Pam still being in Love all those years later. I had an idea for a series about a girl who lives near the Halperts and becomes friends with them, but after reading this I think you've kind of covered that angle.

Noooooo! It can't be over! This morning I clicked on your story title and I've just been reading (and not doing any work!) for the past two hours. I was so into the story I wasn't checking the chapter numbers, so I finished reading this chapter, went to click Next and there was no button! The explanation defenitly needs it's own chapter. Plus while I'm not complaining about long updates, I do like shorter ones because they tend to be a little more centered and tightly written. The explanation was great, completly beliveable. And for the unbeliveable (like someone leaving both Jim and a hearing impared baby)I'm sure that was pretty hard to do, so kudos for that!

Author's Response: Thanks. I\'ll explain this later, but Chloe doesn\'t even know about Ellie\'s hearing yet. Like my friend\'s kid, Ellie failed the test at birth, but that is fairly commin in children, even ones who have perfect hearing, so they need to get re tested after 6 or so weeks.\r\n\r\nThank you so much. I really appreciate the reviews, especially for this chapter. I can see it so perfectly in my head and have SO much ready for the next part!

I love Dorothy! Maybe she could pop up again in a few chapters, with some more advice? The banter and akwardness are great and really true to the Jim and Pam characters. It's like a little glimpse into what they could have been. Hope we are going to see Ellie next chapter!
(We do have a few mother/child spaces in the US, but it's just in front of specialty baby stores.)

The awkwardness and see-sawing emotions are just so real to the characters.The "psyhic dad powers" were a great touch of the banter we all know and love. Ohhhh that dress is to cute for words, so I'll just move on to the story :) Something I've enjoyed, are the bits that we "know" about them from the show. The "dork" teasing, fantasy football and the six flags are the things that would have been a part of Jim and Pam, no matter how their story as a couple went. The Ellie moments had me laughing, because they were so real! My 3 year old sister, loved to half-eat her food and then share it with you. By the way, cold french fries aren't that bad once you get used to them :). If your looking for story suggestions, I'd love to see more of these little bits of "family life" and the nice lady in the supermarket again, maybe she could talk to Pam this time....?
P.S. The sign language is great addition as usual, keep up the good work!

I've been AWOL the past 4 months, so I'll have to go back and read chapter nine, but this was adorable as usual. A bathtime scene and Jim playing patty cake? Almost too much cuteness to be believed. Plus you had some great just-getting-to-know-Pam moments, like The Princess Bride and the Neosporian line, (which you just know Jim will tease her about forever) :)

On that note I noticed Pam's being a little artsy with making the cake and then shaping it.(BTW-how can anyone not think that homemade is better?) Since you've kept the characters pretty close to the show, I was wondering if we were going to find out that Pam has an artistic side. Since she's a slightly more confident Pam, would she have taken classes and gotten better? Would she be doing mostly black and white sketches since we know she's awesome at those (deleted scene-Business trip ep) And is there any chance of her having, I don't know done a sketch or two, of Ellie? Maybe as a birthday present?

I'm so sorry, I'm just rambling on writing your story for you, oh but if you ever decide to put Ellie through a "curiously destructive" phase, I work with an 18 month old who is in one of those and I'd be only too happy to pass on his escapades. He owes me :) Maybe daddy Jim is getting frustrated and Pam comes to the rescue ?

I love how naturally you incorporate the sign language, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but it's so great that you provide the links.

I don't read stories until there marked complete, if the chapters don't update fast enough I'll drive myself crazy hitting the refresh button. But the title caught my eye, because it's the name to one of my favorite songs, and once I saw the premise of Jim as a single dad I just knew I had to start reading right away. I love the sign language you've included! I know sign language and it's cool to read the discription and go "hey I know that sign", and great to think that hundreds of people could be learning basic signs and phrases if they want to pay attention, Who says fanfic isn't educational :) Please update with chapter 4 soon, my refresh button is begging you!
