Now THIS brings tears to my eyes.
Love the waffle iron. That is SO Jim. Another teapot would have just been redundant.

Hmm. Something is wrong with the arithmetic here. Creed was not a "boy" in the Sixties, he was a member of a rock band. He cut an album with The Grass Roots in 1967, when he would have been 24.
Dwight seems to be around Jim's age, which would put him in his mid to late twenties; if he was born in the Sixties, the very youngest he could be would be 37 (born in 1969). That's closer to Michael's age. And Mose would have to be over 40, if he's running in 1969 or earlier.
Just musing. Probably putting more thought into this review than I should. :) I wanted to say how glad I am that SOMEBODY is writing CreedFic. He's my second or third fave character (after Jam).
But in 1969, Creed would have been about 25.

A brilliant solution to the how-to-reconnect-with-Pam problem!
"Life's too short to be afraid to try a little change in your favorite snack."
Most excellent.
Just something I decided to write. Tam and Karim.

LOL! What a hoot! Role reversal! I love the image of Jim asleep with his hair sticking out in all directions. I always love TouseledJim (tm). And thanks for writing an attractive Roy; I don't think the guy's a complete lout. With the right woman, he might shine...
Author's Response: Mmm... TousledJim(tm) is a sexy Jim. Thanks NeverEnoughJam for joining me on my AU journey! (How should I shorten your name? Never? NEJ?)

Dude, pick a tense. You start out in past tense, and then switch to present tense. Disorienting. Also, use a spellchecker. I kept stumbling over misspelled words. You want as few distractions as possible.
As for the content, sure, it's a bit raw, but guys are pretty raw. This certainly SOUNDS like a man writing. :-) Complete focus on the physical. I do have one question, however: why does EVERYONE assume Jim wears boxers?

Hmm. I loved pissed off Jim, but I didn't care for the ALL CAPS SHOUTING. IT WAS KIND OF DISTRACTING.
Hey, why does Jim know where Karen's apartment is???
Okay, this is post Stamford (sort of) and is a little AU, given that we now know Jim and Pam have talked a little. It's a bit angsty, but I swear, I was absolutely seized by the urge to write this! It's based a little on some of the comments I read on Live Journal yesterday re: Jim as "a man with needs." Heh. That makes this sound as if it's going to be a pile of smut, and it's not. It'll just be a slightly different Jim - totally drunk!Jim.
Jonathan makes an appearance as well.
And for those of you who are concerned - remember, my fics always end with a happy Jim/Pam. :o) This one probably won't be as long as the others have been; I'm thinking it'll maybe be a two-parter.

"...Just five minutes without that sick ache in my chest, wondering what the fuck is wrong with me that you can’t just love me the way that I’ve always loved you!”
This is wonderfully in character, strange to say. We have almost never seen Jim angry, yet I have no trouble believing this line. But this whole dance of who sleeps where at Pam's is silly. These two are not acting like grownups, they are acting as coy as the two-dimensional characters in a romance novel. If Pam doesn't know what he wants from her by this point in the narrative, she's an ass.
Author's Response:
Obviously she knows what he wants from her; that isn't the issue. The issue here is that he's drunk off his ass, and it would be a bit squicky (in my opinion) of her to have sex with him after he'd been fooling around with someone else earlier in the night. So it's less that she's being coy than it is that she wants it to happen in a different scenario and under different circumstances. ....And I don't think he's been coy either; he's being fairly obvious about what he wants.
Thanks for the review, even if you found the characterizations insipid and lacking.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Whew. Wow. [/Jim] You write lovely foreplay. I very much like the part where his head whips back around to her "as if she'd called his name". Very nice touch. Is there more? You give us such lovely, lingering detail (NakedChestJim, yummy), I was a little disappointed when we abruptly wound things up with "He made love to her on the couch". But I love it when you make his voice all hoarse and desperate, "I never will." Oooo! *shiver* Niiiiice, as Kev would say.

"So, we're past being best friends, huh?"
"Oh yeah. Way beyond. I can't even see it in the rearview mirror anymore."
Cute line.
Author's Response: Thanks NeverEnoughJam! And when are we getting our next taste of a new 'Flavor'?
Jim called. Pam answered. They talked. And talked. And talked. So what did Jim saying to himself afterwards?

his body couldn't lie. He wanted her more than he could say. Still.
Fantastic. A great reminder of what keeps men honest--their bodies. :) That part of them can't lie; if he wants her, he wants her, and no substitute will really ever take her place.
Well done. Thanks.

Wow. Never did basic hygiene seem so erotic. Thank you. Oh. My. WetJim....yes.
Author's Response: Thank you! It's so weird, because I've been stuck in my house for a few days (I'm on crutches and let's just say I'm not very coordinated) so I've been rereading my favorite fics, and of course in my never-ending quest for Jim and Pam smut, I stumbled across my old favorite, your "Flavors." Now that is erotic. This review is quite a compliment, coming from you.

when he meets her in the supply closet late in the afternoon because he hasn't kissed her since lunchtime and he hungers for her touch.
Such a romantic line. Perfect for Jim.
Author's Response: Thank you. The best part about that line is how you can substitute your own name for "her" and daydream about a supply closet tryst with..... Oops! Never mind, I digress.
Christmas isn't the only holiday to tell someone how you feel...

"Um, treat," he said, still sounding slightly shell-shocked. "Definitely, treat."
Heh heh heh heh.
Loved the sight of Jim handing out candy. I loved the scenes in "Take Your Daughter To Work Day" when he connected to those kids so well. I can just see Jim acting as you describe with a bunch of costumed kiddies. They'd be back over and over at his door--especially if their mothers had a say in it...

Good line: That perfect moment when her laughter was everything and the minutiae of their lives was enough.
Even better line: watched an old basketball game on ESPN Classics that he remembered seeing in high school. He liked knowing what the outcome would be.
Fucking GREAT l ine: Somewhere the phone was ringing.
Your swimming metaphor might have been beaten to death in a longer piece, but it is just the right touch for something this short.

Author's Response: Just a moody little Jim thing I had in my head. I actually rarely, if ever, use extended metaphors, but I liked the idea of it threading through here. Glad you liked it, thanks for reviewing.
Pam is at the end of her quickly fraying rope and must make a decision.
Rated M for some adult language.

Jesus Christ. What a shocker. What impact. Wow. You broke my heart, witch. With a story like this, "I like" or "I don't like" is irrelevant--what counts is the power of the words and the impact, and you got those freakin' NAILED, woman. Not only should you continue with this sort of writing (although I hate the idea of Pam/Jim suicide), you should quit your day job and do more of it. If you can elicit this kind of reaction in what, a thousand words, you should be doing more of it.
Author's Response: You're much too kind. Thanks for reviewing and the very generous compliment!
