I can't believe no one has done this before! It seems so logical that Karen would bump into Jan right then. And I really liked how you wrote both women. The detail about Jan's fingers tapping on the box jumped out at me especially.

It had always amused me that apparently the DM receptionists talk to each other about gossip (courtesy of Branch Wars) and I wanted to explore that. Also, apparently Rolando is flaming gay in my head, so... there's that.

I love how particular she is. That she's demand a written contract and that Dwight would have no hesitation to provide one. Plus, I can absolutely hear her utter revulsion as she says "typo".

Kelly sits Ryan in front of Big Brother 8. Gushing over a certain real showmance ensues.
You can read this without having ever seen BB8, but you probably won't catch everything, though the underlying theme is pretty obvious. I realize this doesn't match up with real time, since by the time BB8 aired, Ryan had already moved to NYC and broke up with Kelly, but work with me here. Prompt was "the new Eric and Jessica."
Aww, it's always fun to get a glimpse of Ryan actually accepting Kelly for who she is. Love that he actually got himself addicted to AI!
Wow. It's so rich and thick with the heat of the summer air and the dryness of life and evocative in so many more ways than you normally except from "mere fic". Transcendant may be the word I'm looking for. Simple phrases such as "the fists of his past" are revelatory.
Fascinating and evocative. I have no idea where you're going with this but I love it already. Your description of "The Captain" made him palpably real and his effect on Andre was tangible.
Ooh, I love the description of The Captain in the first paragraph. And the entire confrontation between him and Jim was spectacular. I like that you have Pam working with Harold while Jim is working with his guardian. Nice paralleling.
Aww, I love that Pam gave him a pack of smokes! That was awesome.
I think you come up to the edge of Pam OOC without actually crossing it. It's a strange situation and it certainly calls for unusual behavior.
Gorgeous and evocative. I like that nothing really happens and it's all down to the imagery and phrasing like "the sticky sound of honey" and "sunlight bleeding red through her eyelids".
This will be a series of self-contained chapters (oneshots) exploring various "what ifs" pertaining to episodes spanning seasons one through three. Each chapter will examine how things would've gone differently if either Jim or Pam had responded to a given situation the way that (most) fans had wanted or almost expected them to.
For example, the first chapter focuses on how things would've happened differently if Jim had confessed during those twenty-seven seconds of silence on the booze cruise when we were all holding our breath and hoping he would.
Among the other chapters I have mapped out: What if all the reminders of Jim in "Gay Witch Hunt" had provoked not a small, sad smile from Pam at the end of the episode, but rather, had motivated her to take action -- drive to Stamford to see him for the first time in four months? Or what if Jim had responded to Pam's text in "Diwali" via a post-Jagermeister phone call? What if Jim had walked in on Pam crying at the end of "Back From Vacation"? (...You get the idea.)
Again, though, each chapter will be confined to an episode, so it will essentially be a series of oneshots that are unrelated to each other.
What a lovely reimagining of a classic shippery moment! The weight of the silence, the weight of the knowledge, the weight of the indecision, it was all utterly palpable. I can't wait to see what else you do with this most excellent concept.
Summer pre-S5. Jim's in Scranton - Pam's in New York. Just little a set of vignettes - week by week until they're together again.
5 - I love the concept of time both eternal and instantaneous. I definitely feel that as a mother. I've had a 3 year old forever but when the hell did he get to be such a big boy?!
6 - What a great and realistic fight for them to have! I think it was in character for both of them to behave the way they did, say the things they did, and make up the way they did.
7 - Awww, I just love Pam's and Michael's relationship.
I really like the rhythm of this piece. The transformation from summer camp lonliness to exciting opportunity lonliness was very real and nicely illustrated. I like that you started out with Jim but ended up with Pam.

Amidst interest from several of the office workers, Ryan's trial begins in New York City. The rest of the office, however, is far more concerned with his replacement, the newly hired Corporate Manager, and the changes it might mean for the branch.

My favorite parts of this aren't the dialogue. They're the subtle reminders of Pam's change. I love this, "her love for him made her vulnerable as much as it made her strong" and I love that she thinks in artistic inspiration now. That she considers self-portraits even while musing.
Of course I also thought of Archer when you imagined the sky having a brow to furrow.
Heh. Just the word "Furrow" makes me think of Archer, but I couldn't think of a better one, so... I guess that's the cross we bear for being Trekkies.

Five day-breaks that shaped Jan's life, from pre-series to post-S4. Spoilers up to Goodbye, Toby.
We don't really know much about Jan's past, so I wanted to elaborate on some of the hints we've gotten on her backstory in each of these.
Love the final bit of spec. A happy Michael makes me happy and he's never truly happy with Jan. I love the twist, though, that it really is his child.
Crossover with Doctor Who and The Office. In her attempts to cross universes and get back to the Doctor, Rose Tyler ends up stuck in the parking lot of Dunder Mifflin around the time of Ben Franklin. A multi-reunion fic of sorts. Spoilers for the third season of The Office. For DW, not JE compliant but little spoilers for late series 4.

Hee! You've really got Rose's voice down nicely. Loved this exchange with Dwight: “Well done, you. Excellent job. I felt quite secure.” What a great idea to have her not only stuck in yet another AU, but a fictional one! And "Spoilers!" is a great call-back to River Song. Fantastic!

Man, you really have Rose's voice down. I can absolutely picture her saying those lines. Spot on. And I love that Pam's basically started her own private LINDA branch! So much fun.

(I may have located an online British slang dictionary..) and yes! I'm glad you made the Pam/LINDA connection because that was totally how I was picturing her, maybe with a little bulletin board and all the sightings and information she could find...
