I really liked this chapter, despite the sad tone of it.
These are difficult times for everybody and isn't it just lucky that there is writing, and that we can use it for some catharsis?
About the chapter, I am suspecting there was nothing casual in that encounter... and that Pam has been seriously stalking Jim for a while.
Also, I like that he's having a thing with Karen. It's realistic.

Omg! Talk about emotional rollercoasters! This chapter has taken me all over the place. First the meeting, then the small talk, then just sadness... and then, phew. Is it summer again? And then... ouch my poor heart.
I loved that you made Pam say it back, thus making Jim act. It was the cherry on top of an amazing sundae.

Oof mr Halpert is in trouble! Serves him right for behaving like an asshole in the office :)

Oh my gosh, my heart hurts in all the right places. I get how Pam feels almost invisible but I'm curious about Jim being such an asshole. Is he angry because she left the wedding with Roy? I guess it might be it.
"How very Michael of his" is the perfect string of words.
Beautiful chapter. I'm off to the next.

OK, first of all, how am I discovering this just now?? Second of all, this is brilliant. Pure gold.
I could see it all in my head, listen to their voices, really imagine all their gestures. Also... I love JAM&Dwight.
The fact the everybody in the office was into the whole thing was amazing. Nice touch to involve Oscar and Kevin, and even Phyllis.
Anyway, I'm off to read your next cold openings!

This is really lovely to hear - I worry a lot about being able to translate something I'm seeing really clearly in my head as a visual into written form with these cold opens, and that was particularly true with this one, where I felt like I was letting John and Jenna do a little too much of the work. The JAM&Dwight dynamic is one of my favorite parts of the show, and this felt like something Pam would really enjoy and that the rest of the office would very realistically notice and make a game out of. Thanks for the review!!!

Ok, the sheer genius of some of your lines just blow me away, and I'm just gonna put two examples, otherwise this review would be basically a transcription of your own cold opening.

"BEYONCE is suddenly getting angry and doesn’t know why"

"(shrugs) Dwight always says no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy."

And Angela's talking head was right on point. I can perfectly see her breaking, despite of herself, and trying her best for it not to be too evident.

And of course, Meredith at the end is just the cherry on the perfect sundae.

And I appreciate you flagging that line about Beyonce's anger, which I kinda cackled at when I first thought of it. I always love the little moments where we see Angela's rigid exterior cracking, and it just seemed too appropriate to pass up here. What can this office unite over if they can't unite over Beyonce? Meredith was too much fun to play with here. Thank you for taking the time to review!
