Watching the documentary as a favor for Ryan, Toby learned that almost everyone at Dunder Mifflin could probably sue Michael for something and win big. And he learned a few other very important lessons as well.Wonderful. I enjoyed every section, and it's great how Toby 'grew' from watching the documentary. Yay, Toby!

I really enjoyed this. I haven't seen Dreamgirls; you might want to put "spoilers for Dreamgirls" somewhere, since you're giving away some plot. (I'm not planning to see it anyway, so I don't care about being spoiled, but someone might.)
It's all very good, but my favorite part is the conversation with David Wallace, and his little message for Joe Schultz at the end -- basically 'you will hire this person' and then knowing in his mind that she's Joe's replacement. So, so good.
Aw, nice job! I hope Roy is happy again. I hope he finds his Karen, so to speak. :)
I like how seeing other people happy made Roy feel a bit better; so often, it's the opposite.
When he saw the strap of her polka dot swimsuit peeking out from under her white tank top, he knew. He knew it was her.
Set during Beach Games, but almost all of it is a flashback.
What a neat twist at the end! And a nice story throughout!

How would things have turned out if Pam read the card that came with her teapot?Wow! Let me start with saying that your grammar and spelling skills must be pretty good, because all I found was an 'it's' which should be an 'its' and a 'miserable' which should be a 'miserably.' My unbeta'd stuff wouldn't be almost perfect, that's for sure.
I didn't realize this was going to veer off into fulfilling my hopes for these two. Up until Pam grabbed the card from Jim (I enjoyed the fact 'groping' was mentioned, by the way), I thought this was going to be a 'unseen by the cameras' sort of thing, and Pam was going to just stamp down the feelings she was feeling -- on with season 2!
I loved that instead, she took the bull by the horns (or the man by the arms) and dealt with the feelings. Hooray, hooray, and more hooray!
Here are some of my favorite lines:
“Please don’t kidnap the boy scouts,” she blurted out.
“Done,” Dwight barked, hastily swiping the iPod from Pam’s hand and shoving the teapot at her.
“No givesies backsies!” he warned.
I mean, what, is this teapot made of gold or does it brew gold or something?
“And that doesn’t taste like fire,” Pam added.
“Chickened out,” she offered.
“Hey, does this present come with bonus gifts?” he asked innocently.
Ha! I bet that present does come with bonus gifts! Imagine Roy's reaction to this!
Honestly, in real life, Jim and Pam would have been together way sooner than season 3, final show, final minute!! (Aargh!)

The baking and the giraffe are my favorites, and I like the way throughout this that you're bringing in the other characters of The Office and they're so nicely in character.

Super-angsty and complex! I'm so glad it didn't go this way, but if Pam had married Roy, I could certainly see these sorts of emotions in both of them.
I found especially compelling the part about Pam realizing she was ruining her marriage, and how Roy had been trying.
The end of this especially is heartbreaking, but really good.
My nitpick is that it's cold out and no one mulches in the winter. At least I don't think anyone mulches in the winter. True confession -- I don't really know that much about mulching, but it seems no one would do it at Thanksgiving.
What? How is Jim taking a chance on Karen "things looking up"? This is egregious!! Just kidding. ;)
Poor Jim. What a terrible situation to be in. If Pam had married Roy, it would be way too painful for Jim to work at DM Scranton again. :(

Wow, poor Pam and poor everyone, really. SO glad it didn't go this way, but you're writing it realistically. I definitely think she'd first try to move out and figure things out rather than just saying "That's it! We're getting a divorce!"

What a wonderful view into how Pam would have felt that night. I love how "yes, of course" segues into "I can't" after looking at "Roy's sleeping bulk," like Roy is some sort of hulkish sleeping dragon. Love, love, love.
And then how she's trying to decide what "I can't" means. This is just wonderful, lis; thanks so much for this.
Wonderful. I love the different items mentioned that have no "Roy" attached to them, and her thought about being able to watch the sunrise - she's looking toward the future.
She looks at her path, and the path she left, and the path she chose not to take (yet). Wonderful. And yes, one of the best things about your own place is the ability to cry or be happy, nap or dance, without having to explain or justify it.
Just lovely, lis. I love your writing -- it's beautiful and it flows so nicely.
Oh, poor Pam! Full of hope, and we know what happened. She probably had cleaned up her apartment, hoping that she'd be able to show Jim everything. And clean sheets, only slept on one night? I'm sure she's thinking "just in case." ;)
It's sad that the next night wouldn't have been as she hoped, but instead was probably a disaster. That would be another night where having your own place would come in handy -- the tears would be flowing, that's for sure.
Her hope here is lovely, though.
I have this vision of a Jim Talking Head, "Pam and I had a long talk last night..." but of course this would be a good long talk, not a "I'm really glad you're here" talk. ;)
This is a really neat first date 'after' fic; this line says it all: "A simple dinner date has turned into a night of revelations, of confession and apology and proclamation." Hooray for this sort of sleepless night.
