Wow!  Really interesting.  She's making the first move there, by holding his hand.  While I approve of this BoozeCruisePam, I'm not sure I've ever met this particular BoozeCruisePam.   I definitely like her, though.  Also the "Yeah" and the fingers tightening.

Nice job.  This might be one that sort of sticks with me for a while, one that I keep thinking back on.

That was excellent.  I can see why you say it was exhausting.  There aren't really any wasted words or moments; it's a story without unnecessary filler.

I haven't read all your stuff, but of what I have read, this one really stands out to me.  It's like you've distilled it so only the good stuff is left.

Excellent job.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, TLK. I\'m really glad you liked this. It is different from my other stuff, definitely. Maybe more of a mood piece than an actual story, if you know what I mean. It may not be for everybody, but it was kind of cathartic to write. Anyway, so glad it worked for you, and thanks for reading and reviewing!

I'd also like to congratulate you on fitting Jim's POV from The Merger to post-The Job in less than 2700 words.  I should say that's different from your usual. ;)  You should be really proud of this one.

Not that you shouldn't be proud of the other ones -- you should.  But I think you really pushed yourself with this one and achieved something quite different.  Congrats. :)

Author's Response: Part 2: ;-) Yeah, I sure shoved a lot in there, didn\'t I? I feel like I did push a little more with this one and wrote something that I really wanted to write, not something that necessarily everyone would want to read. Funny how you can see the difference, huh? When I don\'t rush, and I focus on the feelings and the words, I get a different kind of product. Maybe not better, necessarily, just different. (Better is totally subjective, isn\'t it?) Ah, I\'m rambling. Anyway, thanks for being so supportive of this little guy -- I\'m not sure if it appeals to everyone, but I\'m glad it appealed to you!

Nice peek at Pam's thoughts.  I especially liked "Pam knew she was in trouble but couldn’t bring herself to agree, no matter how much it hurt."

This bit "even talking about him too much with her friends" makes me think of Pam's mom... "So which one is Jim?" ;)

What a nice job, Miss Steph.  I really like how you're able to write Toby; the most I can do for Toby is a couple of lines in a Talking Head.

It's very possible things would go just about like this with Toby after "Goodbye, Toby."  I loved how you put the other characters in, especially Meredith and Kelly.

I'm going to favorite this so I can find it again.

Author's Response: Thank you. I feel like Toby\'s the one I can really write (I don\'t know why I can\'t be normal and just write Pam and Jim). And I love your talking heads. I\'m going to get better at reviewing, but I\'ve always loved your fics. And thank you again - so glad you liked it.

Summary: A rainy Friday night, some tears, and plenty of junk food might just lead Pam to realize a few things, like how she really feels about her best friend. Set in the early part of Season 2.

The paragraph that starts: "Her jeans were heavy and her toes squished in her shoes with each step she took, but she had made it here to his house, to him" is my favorite, and I love how it's bookended with, basically, 'Jim means safety and caring.'

The 'friend' thing of course would bring Jim's spirits down a bit.  From your description, I think we'll see that turn around at some point here.

I love the Dwight/DNA bit. ;)

It's good you had Roy break things off.  I do like stories where Pam figures out she should dump Roy, and I would hope in real life she would, but that's not the Pam we ever saw in Season 2.  She only finally broke things off when "push came to shove," really.  She had a confession from Jim, she had feelings, too, and her wedding to Roy was only a few days away.

So this is really more realistic; Roy dumps her, so she needs to react.  Frumpy Old Beesly is more likely to react than to act.

Anyway, I'll go on. :)

Author's Response: Yeah, as much as I love to see Pam dump Roy, I always thought it would be more realistic if he dumped her, maybe because he found someone new? I don't know. I think they were both just stuck in that relationship, but if anyone was going to unstick him or herself, I'd bet it'd be Roy over Frumpy Old Beesly any day. Anyway, I'm glad you liked this, and I'm sorry I didn't respond to this review sooner. I still appreciated it. ;)

Nice job.  I agree that Jim wouldn't mind Pam in his bed, regardless of circumstance. ;)

Wait!  The stairs were too far away?  Hmmm.

Author's Response: Yeah, those stairs were a little too daunting at three or four in the morning. ;)

Reviewer: Too Late Kev Signed

Nice!  Pam figured things out pretty quickly, and frankly, Roy's dumped her, so she's a free woman now.   Good for her. :)

I love this: "He checked his room first, hoping, though knowing that he shouldn't hope it, that she would be wrapped up in his sheets. Something he'd dreamed about more often than he cared to admit."  I hope she tells him that they actually spent the night curled up together.  That's so sweet. :)

I'm glad you dusted this off and finished it up, Azlin!  Yay for happiness in Season 2!  (At this point, I'm not convinced there'll be happiness in Season 5, so...yeah.  It's just nice to win one (/Kevin), via your fic.

Author's Response: I'm actually not sure why I decided to end this so quickly, but that was just the way this one turned out. I suppose I could've stretched it a bit more, but I really felt like it was done when it was done, you know? Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm really glad I finished it, too. Thanks for your reviews! I'm happy to provide Season 2 happiness whenever you need it. And don't give up on Season 5, it's early yet.

Wow, that was really interesting, dms!  The ending was a real surprise to me; I just thought he must be dead, or moving in a different dimension of time or something odd like that.

I loved Dwight's comment about the Schrute brain. ;) (Although there's no apostrophe needed in "yours.")

This line is fun: "We wanted to see how you would do actually working a full 8 hour day, 40 hour week."  Hah!

Nice job, dms!  It's nice to see something different like this, too. :)

Author's Response:

Thanks TLK! :) I essentially took the TZ story line and twisted it, hopefully enough, to fit with the TO world. I didn't want it to be too outrageous, but fun instead. It's nice to see people actually read it, even if it is different.

Also thanks for the "yours" tip ;).

Awesome!  First of all, I think it was Paul at one point who said that Jim didn't go to Australia, so you're all set there.

I'm not sure where the "imagine my surprise" one fits in...  Is it just an extra?

I love the "it's not"!  So great! :)

See, this is fun.  The chapters are so quick (to read), that I can keep up with this WIP!  Hurray!

Author's Response:

Paul L totally knew that I would write a story eventually, and forget about Australia, so he futuristically covered my ass on that. Haha. Yeah, writing this chapter I was like oh yeah, Australia.

The Imagine My Surprise was 'extra' in that, I was trying to have little ones at the end that were either important to the story (such as Pam's), or just related to the tone of the chapter. That one is from actual PostSecret, and when I saw it, it just fit so well with this chapter I had to use it.

The 'it's not' came after a day of brainstorming. Me and my beta were talking about what Pam's card should say, look like, and then how Jim could respond. Took forever (especially with photoshop!) but I think the cards turned out great. And since they are integral to the story, well worth it!

I knew my short chapters would be good for someone! If it means TLK reading a WIP... yep, its good!

Lovely.  I'm glad you put the 'reminder' postcards up, too.  It's not that I don't remember, and I need a reminder, it's that I just like to look at them again!  And I'm not going to that site!  I'd be on it forever! (TWHS)

I love the "edge of something big" one.  It looks like Niagara Falls; what a perfect choice of a real postcard for this.

It's neat that Pam thinks everyone will recognize her secret; I could see feeling like that, but in reality, most people don't know about the site, and wouldn't even dream that someone they know has something on there!

Anyway, nice job! :)

Author's Response:

Yeah, I kind of like looking at them also (what, I'm proud that I made them!)

Sometimes, you really wonder what significance the postcard designs have for the person who sent it in. Like, was that a real picture, how did they distort it, how did they choose it. Yeah, I think about it too much. And then the message. Because its like, yeah, something huge and big, but I want you beside me.

Oh, and so, I've toally sent in like three secrets, and I saw one of them posted, and I freaked. I so thought everyone would know it was mine. I was afraid to check my email. I was certain someone was going to say "ha, this looks like your handwriting" and it wasn't just a generic secret, it was something that, like, it felt so obvious that it was mine and was so easily identifiable as mine. I seriously was so scared. I did nearly contact PS to have him take it down, it scared me so much. But the the day passed. And the week. And nothing happened. And then new secrets were posted and I gave a huge sigh of relief. (although it still terrifies me a bit if I think about it)

Thanks as always!

I hope Toby will give Pam the number.

I'm assuming this is AU and you're not going to do something in the next chapter like "and so she never called, and angsty season 3 happened instead!"  That would be fun for no one. ;)

She could start with, "So it's not too late for us?" :)  Or whatever you decide. ;)

Author's Response:

Yep, Toby will give Pam the number. Mostly because I like poor pathetic toby and not mean pervy Toby.

And yes, this is AU. Because I like to live in Denial of S3. Karen? Stamford? Nah. It went from I'm in Love with You to We're Dating.

Neat.  I like how they wanted to stay connected, and the final postcard "she's going to marry me" is great.

And by the way, they'd better get married, because if they do the break up and make up thing over and over, I'm going to burn Utica to the ground. ;)

So I like this much better than Season 3. :)  Nice job, Emily!

Author's Response:

That postcard, well, about a week ago, there was a second one, it was the exact same picture, with the white squirrel and it only had Yes on it. And I totally loved it. Partially because it made me smile like :D bu I was also like, ha! See, other people besides Jim and Pam talk though PostSecret (because it was up after I had started the idea for this story)

And trust me, if all isn't well with Jim and Pam... well, screw Utica, I will burn Hollywood to the ground.

Thanks so much Kev

No garbage here.  I would hope things wouldn't go that way, and that Andy's proposal caused only a temporary hiccup in Jim's proposal.  I don't really trust that that's the case, though.

If he doesn't have the good sense to propose before she goes off to NYC, what you have here is the kind of thing that could happen (if it were all real, you know), and you did a really good job portraying it.

I love "I don’t know what that was, but it’s not us.  Talk to me."  That would be a great opportunity for Pam to say, "Where's my proposal????!!"  I'd be beyond angry at Jim at this point.  "Kick my ass," my ass.
