So she does the hyphen thing, huh?  I guess I could see that.  Goodness, I don't know where to begin with the gushing.  You're one of the best writers around and to have you working in my preferred genre of smut laden fluffly-ending jam has been a real treat.  The story was a delight from start to finish and deserves all the recognition it has received.     

Well, I'm a big fan, so what I liked was pretty much everthing and what I didn't like is that Chapter 2 isn't up yet.  For my tastes you manage to have substance and realism without laying on a massive layer of angst and melodrama.  The dialogue between the male friends is nicely done, especially given that you ain't a male.

So much goodness here...Jane, the beer/wine thing, the great fun of seeing them cross the line from friendship into something more.  Looking forward to Ch 10. 

I continue to love the whole arc of this story...it's really going to be satisfying when they have their breakthrough.  Loved the "Feeling her crying slack off..." paragraph.

I think this is such a realisic take on Jim and what should eventually motivate him to stop being an ass.  He not only loves Pam he likes her, and both of those feelings, along with his general decency, must be at war with the anger and self absorption that come from being hurt.  Being called out by people in his life on being an ass would push past that self absorption enough for good Jim to triumph over hurt Jim. 

Sorry...I suppose I'm using my review as a platform for my own ideas, but I wanted to explain why the story rings so true to me.  I also like that you capture Jim's reluctance to talk about this stuff; he's a pretty private guy and, as much as he needs to talk about it, you're on the mark in having him do so rather unwillingly. 

Enjoy your nieces...three year old and one year old is a high maintenance combination, so I'll excuse you if I have to wait for the next chapter, but I am definitely looking forward to it.

I felt weird writing my first smutty stuff too, but there's not a damn thing wrong with a little good old fashioned smut and this is really good.  I mean it, top notch, grade A.  They were in character, you made drunk aggressive Beesly so charming and hot, the level of detail was, for me anyway, just right, not too vague or too graphic.  Feel free to write more.

To be honest, I was.  It was one of the first things I came up with when writing, Jim's original greeting and the end...the middle came later.

Wow...earned the rare immediate "Add author to favorites."  One of the best things I've ever read on here.  The flashbacks were poignant and realistic and added resonance to the story.  The dialogue was great...it seemed like them as they really would be together, not doing a sort of schtick.  The whole characterization was vivid and real.  The "we've only been dating three months"...paragrpah of Pam's was brilliant.  Plus, so many great little details...her picking the teenage girl at the checkout, for instance.  And you captured the mixed emotions very well....it's great you didn't have them despearately wanting one outcome or the other or being totally overjoyed or terified.  Really, really, really great.

God, you're just an amzing writer.  This reads like a beautiful poem.  Graceful, graceful stuff.  I sholdn't admit this, but I had a slight fear that you would stab us at the end by revealing the "she" to be Karen just to show how angsty you could be.  I was relieved you didn't.

Okay, that's more like it.  I could have lived with an angsty step backwards that was more understated and in character, but I think it's more organic to have Pam continue to grow and move forward.  Your characterization here returns to being perfect and as always the writing itself is simply incredible.  You are an amazing talent.
