Gosh, those two. The amount of insecurity that runs rampant between them, it's amazing that there's room for anything else. THis was a great chapter and I'm very glad to see you back.

Author's Response: I'm glad I'm back too.  I was a little worried about this chapter (this is the second version), but I'm glad to see you lokied it.  Hopefully it won't take so long for the next chapter.

Absolutely beautiful.

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  Your comment made me giggle and blush.

Summary: Believe it or not, this is a sequel to "The Second Art Show."  Essentially this is my best take at imagining them as a couple, with particular focus on Pam's art career.  Eventually willl have a little bit of everything:  Smut, sunshine, some angst, references to sex with Willie Nelson.

I just reread both your art show stories and got to enjoy them all over again. I really love the dynamic that you capture here with Jim and Pam and the very delicate balance of couplehood. I also liked your attentions to Pam's dipping into the art world and Jim's own advancement adn development. I do hope that you'll return to this universe again and maybe give us a fourth art show :)

Author's Response: Thanks alot, albie.  I really appreciate your compliments.  How nice!

Summary: Past Featured Story

Member's Choice - “My father died, so I’ll need a few days.” She explained in an unaffected sounding voice that surprised even herself. The three other parties in the room were stunned into silence. Jim spoke first. “Jesus, Pam…” She stood with her back to him and addressed Michael as if Jim had not made a sound…as if Jim did not exist. It was the only way.

This story is so emotionally tangible, I really adore it. I love what you've done with the inner monologues of both characters and I especially liked the chapterwhere Pam recalls her father's presence in her life. This really is so beautiful, I can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you! Like I said to LoveFool, I rewrote the chapter about pam's father today...but because of the response I've gotten to it since I last checked the reviews I'm giong to keep it as is!! Thank you so much!!!!!  Keep reading ;-)

Another poignant chapter. Even the short words shared between them held great significance. I love the description of the CD case and how Pam fell asleep hugging it to her chest. And I also liked Jim feeling overwhelmed too, as if he finally unblocked a dam he's been trying to hold back since Casino Night and now it's all flooding around him.

I really look forward to where this all goes.

Just truly beautiful. I loved all your descriptions of their nights together but I especially loved Pam's confessional to Jim and the similarities she sees of her father in Jim.

Very much worth the wait.

Reviewer: albie_ Signed
Date: May 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 17: You have no idea...

The tone of this reissued chapter is so completely different from the last. You went in a completely different direction and I think I like this better. This chapter seemed...life affirming. It seemed to take in all that Pam and Jim had been trying so hard to achieve in their time together since her father died and find a way to forge ahead. While I don't think that the former chapter 17 was bad at all, I do feel it was a step back for the couple and for Pam. And while I agree that that can be realistic in such a situation, this new chapter just seemed more...Pam-like.

As always, I love your lyrical use of language and descriptions, especially Pam's painting of her father. Just lovely.

Summary:

The title pretty much says it all: the fantasies of Jim and Pam and the naughty actings out of those fantasies.

This story will go as long as you, the readers, want it to.

Oh,how I missed this story! Oh, how i missed your writing in general. This chapter was a lovely reminder of how much hotness is in this fic and I love the image of a completely vulnerable Jim being at the mercy of Pam on a mission. So great.

I do hope this means you'll be around more. I would love more of this as well as "Computers and Crayons". But! No pressure :) Just wanted you to know that you are missed.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! The past couple of days have actually been the first time that I've been signed into MTT in a long time. I was going through all of my stories and seeing the intermittent reviews that have been left in my absence and they were all so sweet and inspiring...I couldn't help myself. :)

I would love to get around to finishing "Computers and Crayons" too. I have had the ending all planned out and everything since...well, since I left off with it. It's just a matter of trying to find the inspiration to actually write it out and make it sound decent and all.

Summary:

I needed some cheering up, so in that vein, here is an incredibly un-angsty little piece of fluff. It's only three parts long and it's almost all done.

Pam and Jim reconnect in the most unlikely of all places...

I really adore the way you took these themes in both chapters and had them reflect everything in every day life. How the characteristics of a vampire and a wolf were ingrained in every moment, every detail. It showed great dedication and talent and gave each chapter such a unique feeling. You really built this animalistic tension that was riveting. I really hope you continue this as a series. There are just so many interesting possibilities.

My mouth is hanging open. Just...wow. To answer your questions, I don't think this is too emo-y or even too melrose place. I mean, there is a minor soapish element but I think that adds a kind of black humor to it. I usually have difficulties with stories that pin Karen as the villain, but I find myself enjoying your unflinching version. And I also find myself rooting for a kind of revenge, but not knowing what exactly. I'll leave it to you. I like your style and I really look forward to what is coming next.

Love can be a selfish thing. Love can make you do insanely stupid things. I think many people and these characters certainly displayed that. It's no excuse, of course, but life sometimes works that way. You DO gamble when you love someone and sometimes, you lose. Jim saw both ends of that and I kinda hoped he'd learn something. Not here, apparently. I don't think it's realistic to be wrenched with guilt the way Jim was. I kinda found it amusing and drama queenish and expected to see him slitting his wrists by the end of this while listening to some Travis or Death Cab song. May have made a bit more sense than what I think you wanted to be a "cool" twist.  So where did it leave us? Jim, unhappy and ready to take his punishment as he feels he deserves. Karen, on the pathetic side embarking on revenge that will feel good at first and then leave her feeling just as empty and possibly guilt-ridden. And Pam, blissfully unaware and stupidly supportive. That's... Well, that's something. I guess you can pat yourself on the back for being a sadistic ass, though I think that's a bit more complimentary than I'd say. I think it comes off as you wanting to piss off the OMGJAMMERS. And since you'll probably get many "OMG MEAN" replies, maybe that's an accomplishment. But that doesn't make you a "sadistic ass". It just seems kinda childish. Ah well.

Author's Response: I think you read things worse than I had intended, which is probably my fault.  I certainly didn't want to imply Pam was going to be supportive of him after this.  She'll probably want to kill him.  And Karen's not out for payback, rather she's the one harboring all the doubts this time around and Jim's the confused outsider.  Anyways, this is the most useful kind of feedback and thanks for taking the time to write it.

Summary: Past Featured Story

MEMBER'S CHOICE - An alternate universe where Pam and Roy had a wedding, Pam goes to art school in New York, Dwight owns a restaurant and Jim works for a job in advertising that he likes a lot more and gets a lot more money at.
Basically? Dunder Mifflin never exists. And everyone meets under different circumstances.

The characters are pretty much the same -- personality-wise -- they just have different roles and work different jobs.

Summary:

I decided to write a sequel to Charcoal & Watercolors !!!!

The story picks up right about where Charcoal & Watercolors left off -- Jim and Pam's wedding. Then goes from there into their future. Jim still works at the advertising company and Pam works (exclusively) at a publishing company where she is an illustrator of children's stories.

I added a few more characters ;) and am planning on keeping almost all of the characters from the previous story.

Enjoy!!

Ooh, it's back! And hm, Ryan, best laid plans, huh? Though the two of them at a business together was also enjoyable, I didn't think Ryan could pull that together in just a year while adjusting to a completely new job with new responsibilities. Though I wonder if Ryan thought that.

And Jim, heh, he's sure going to figure out why he's going in for management training. He's too observant not to and Ryan seems to lose any kind of poker face with Jim. Pam being along will also makes this even more interesting.  Looking forward to all the reactions(and Michael's!) to this development.

And yay again for you picking up the story again!

Author's Response: I just couldn\'t help myself, and had to return to this universe. We haven\'t really seen Ryan show much business acumen beyond his books, so it would be hard to imagine him launching somehting quite so quickly. Plus, I wanted to revisit this dynamic again with them still in the DM universe. There will be some interesting moments as this turn of events shakes down. (Or moments I hope to be interesting.)\r\n\r\nThank you so much for all your great reviews of this story. I really appreciate it.

Another intriguing look at Jim and I really liked the honesty in the conversation between Jim and Pam. I especially enjoyed that final line about not envying Ryan's position, but his ambition. I didn't think Jim turning down the promotion only had to do w/ Pam and I like how Jim in your story is having to face that head on. And yay for Ryan giving Pam this kind of opportunity.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. I do really believe that Jim has to be pretty ambivalent about things at some point, especially after finally getting what he wanted for so long. He might not want the job at Corporate, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't want something more at some point out of his career. Having Pam kind of leaves him without a goal, and that has to put a lot of pressure on Pam and the relationship. I'm glad that you're enjoying my attempt at conveying these ideas.
