Sometimes you just have to try new things. A Pam/Ryan story that is more about Pam/Jim than you would think.
I have been following this story since the beginning. I am Ryan/Pam fan, when it is written well, like it is here. I am a little sad that it is coming to end.
After a fire destroys her apartment, Pam moves in with Jim and Karen. Everyone has to find out how they define "friendship". Not for those who prefer their Jim to be wholesome.
Definitely worth continuing... You can't stop now, it would be criminal.
Agressive, silent and forceful Jim is great. I guess he couldn't stand Pam being in the bedroom. Next time Pam definitely should NOT talk.
The title pretty much says it all: the fantasies of Jim and Pam and the naughty actings out of those fantasies.
This story will go as long as you, the readers, want it to.

First of all, I hope you have a great summer you deserve it. Great description of Pam as a teenager, am sure she was so in love w/ Roy at the time and filled w/ endless dreams of a life w/ him. I hope there is more!
Jim's life for years revolved around wanting something he could not have. What happens when Jim finally gets everything he ever wanted? Takes place the Monday after "The Job." Jim is with Pam. Karen returns to Scranton.
Okay... I finally sat down and read this story from start to finish at work...
I loved this story even though it didn't like a happy JAM story. I liked how you described Jim's inner struggle and demons. I actually felt "a little" sorry Karen.
MEMBER'S CHOICE - An alternate universe where Pam and Roy had a wedding, Pam goes to art school in New York, Dwight owns a restaurant and Jim works for a job in advertising that he likes a lot more and gets a lot more money at.
Basically? Dunder Mifflin never exists. And everyone meets under different circumstances.
The characters are pretty much the same -- personality-wise -- they just have different roles and work different jobs.
I am glad that chapters are long... I printed out while I was getting my hair done and the time just flew by.
On to the story... I liked how Pam is starting to come into her all by herself and I especially like the conversation she had w/ her mom and the support she gets from her. You captured the acceptance letter scene great.
I am looking forwward to more and I will be reading the next chapter tonight.
Side note: I too live in area where the jobs suck and I am currently way over qualified for my job!

Love Kelly hating Karen. Love Dwight comforting Pam. Love Angela being Angela. Love that Jim took his ex to a restaurant that he knows she hates. I love that Pam curses. Love how Jim and Pam are getting closer.

Love it! A baby shower at the Shrute Beet Farm -- Brilliant! Here comes baby Halpert! I like how cranky Pregnant Pam is and how loving is Jim towards her.
Great story, I have been enjoying this story for awhile. I love stories that deal w/ the characters when there is no more DM. Because in my world even without DM, Pam and Jim their way back to each other.
Pam gets a taste of what her life could be like. AUI like everything about this story, the kids names are very cute. Little Pam and Little Jim.
I personally liked the N. Cage movie, so it's nice to see a different take on the same premise.
What's so cool about this story is how freaked Pam is about an alternative life that she really wants.
Love it, What a sweet exchange between daddy and girly. I love it that you called her "girly" b/c I have a little one and we call her "Girly".
Pooy Little Andy -- what a sweet little boy. I think it's brilliant and heartbreaking that he made a list of the things he wasn't going to do anymore. It's interesting what he chooses NOT to do: I won't let the Room Mothers know I smell them. This one was way too funny.

Thanks, Alamos! I really identify with Andy's mom in this one; her "He's the kid!" wail came to me in a flash one day. But Andy, finding out he wasn't quite normal in the eyes of others, would certainly do what he could to appear normal, wouldn't he? I find it all kind of bittersweet, and I do just love Andy. He's really just always been this guy, I think.
And really, would just a sniff be so wrong? As long as they don't know... they can't think he's not normal. ;)
When I go into my kids' classrooms, I see lots of "The Kids," including my youngest, who's been in a serious "flapping when excited" phase for... way too long. I love them all, even the ones my youngest tussles with. And in some cases, I know their moms, and we commiserate.

What a clever way of describing a character's traits. I think it's awesome that Andy and his Dad ARE the Sailing Club.

I had to go back and check, because it was a while back that I posted this chapter. Andy and his dad started the Sailing Club, but they "have a couple other guys and dads who joined now, too." Those guys and their dads are on other boats, though (wouldn't you be, given the choice?) which is why the Bernard boat-like vehicle could fit another pair easily.
This was kind of a fun chapter to write. In reality, Andy probably wouldn't be allowed to go on and on like this, but that's a bit of artistic license. Besides, I think the Principal and the head of the newspaper are those sorts of women who can love "The Kid" and they are trying to help him find his "nitch." ;)

You did a fantastic job of telling a "story." The story flowed wonderfully. What I liked about this story is that you managed to tell an engaging story in ONE chapter that was filled with humor and drama. And the last two chapters I had to read twice to fully grasp how the two were related. BRAVO!

I love this story. So sweet, so simple, so sad. I loved how full of hope Jim is: "He decides that one night they can order in pizza and sit on the couch with a couple of beers, enjoy a television show or just each other" And then his hopes are shattered in such a drastic way: "he’s fallen hard and he can’t pick himself back up." Great Job!
I sooooo wished that it had gone like this. Then we wouldn't have to been through the year-of-the-plot-device (aka Karen).

"Hi, I'm Karen, and I'm a plot device." ("Hi, Karen!") Karen, this is an environment of welcoming and you should just get the hell out of here. (/Michael) I always think, when I see this scene, that Pam should have admitted a little crush too. And yet, every time, the wrong words come out of Pam's mouth.
Actually, I know people who were in this sort of situation. They were roommates. There was one more roommate, a friend of one of the couple and sibling of the other. The woman had a long-time steady boyfriend. One night, one of the roommates admitted they'd always had a crush on the other, and that one said "I always had one on you" (I don't know who admitted it first). The next day, she broke it off with her boyfriend, they were married within a year, and now it's like 15 years and 2 or 3 kids later. And it all started with a little teeny sentence like "you know, I've always had kind of a crush on you."

A year or two before the cameras arrived, Michael takes the staff to the Poconos for a camaraderie event. Much unresolved sexual tension and angst ensues (uh, between Jim & Pam, not the entire staff).
I read the entire story yesterday at work. Before MTT went down I copied the entire and pasted on a word document (it "looks" like I am working). It is an amizing story filled w/ angst, hope and smut. Perfect. I like the different endings very unique.

Oh wow, you read the whole thing in a day? I feel as though I should apologize, lol, because the first half of the story is uber-angsty. But I'm glad you enjoyed it; of all the things I've written, that one remains my favorite -- both in terms of the experience of writing it (I was absolutely consumed by it, which is a lovely thing), as well as the end result. I tend to be mortified whenever I go back and re-read things I've written; this is one of the few things that I'm actually okay with. :o)

Classic... very amusing. I love how the girls just "love" Jim after Season 2. I would love to see how they react to Jim after Season 3. My only constructive criticism is that it not be a oneshot.
