They've started figuring out a direction in their lives; I think that is what we all hope to achieve by the time we reached our late 20s. I like that they are so supportive of each other. That is why they make a great couple!

9 I read this yesterday night, but just realized I forgot to leave you a note about it, because I loved it. I like seeing the same situation through different eyes; I think it just works very well. I like that Karen wasn't totally bulldozed by Jim/Pam and was able not to keep some dignity through it all. Oh, and I loved that Jim and Pam found their way back to each other in a realistic fashion! :)

Post Merger - Except the years he waited, he was able to witness her falling out of love - She's getting to watch him fall in love. Pam reaches her breaking point and decides to take a leap.9 Wow. I thought you really captured the awkwardness of their trying to work through those barriers they put up. I liked that Pam couldn't have yet another life changing conversation in the Dunder-Mifflin parking lot! That was really an enjoyable story.
This is just my answer to Thursday night's angst - my attempt at an explanation of what the hell they were thinking, as well as my offering of a happy ending (TWSS!).

It was nice to get both of their perspectives. I agree that they are both unhappy in this messy situation. Ah, crazy kids! They will work it out.

He's playful and animated, quippy and sexy, and always, always just a little bit dark. 10 Wow, that was such a spot-on characterization of Karen. I think this could totally happen on the show; something will start to click for her about Jim's past, and she will slowly let go. I don't get a sense that she would foolishly fight it.
I loved this: always her fingers between his index finger and thumb, her thumb circling around his. It feels like a thick barrier, suddenly, and when she tries to tangle her fingers with his, he pulls his hand away and places it on the small of her back, instead. She hopes she's just making something out of nothing, but deep down, she places it in the same file with his never having been inside her apartment and his being adamant about people at work not knowing they were dating - it's just another brick in the wall around him.

It's just like her, a series of straight lines, no twists or turns. He wonders why he can't be satisfied with simple. She's a smart girl, who won't be fooled. He's not there for the jellybeans. There's an invisible line, an electric current that runs from his desk to well - not hers.
Very lyrical and I thought you've really been able to capture the essence of the current lives of these three people.
9 This was such a interesting series of short stories. Ah, Pam and the Jim lokalike. I'm glad she got the real deal in the end! :) Very funny when Jim insists she stop laughing when they're naked. Good job! :)
