I really enjoyed how you structured the story, and I think the difficulty of becoming more than that after being such good friends is a really interesting angle that is not quite covered in a lot of first date fics.

I loved this story! I'm glad that some of the resentment and misunderstanding of the previous year came into play, because how can it not? They have to still be annoyed with each other on some level... You can't really brush that away in one fell swoop. So yay for realistic and yet sweet first date fic. That was really awesome. I like that you took all these 55-word scenes to make a full-fledged date fic. I thought their banter worked very well, and this was really funny:
"Have you checked your man purse?"
"My what?"
"Your satchel," said Pam.
"So that's how it's going to be tonight?"
"I've got more."
Ha. Plus, I liked the idea that Pam was the only one who bet on herself. Very sweet story.
It's about damn time -- not only for Pam & Jim to go on a date, but for me to get in on this whole fanfic writing thing. I hear it's the next big thing. Lisa! Yay! :) This was a wonderful 55-word fic because I did not expect that. A nice surprise. :)

While MTT was down for a brief time one night, I wrote a couple 55 word fics in the TWOP thread about Jim and Pam reading fanfic. I will likely continue this as a long running series, referencing my favorite stories and also newer stories as they come about.

I enjoyed this, Moxie. It felt realistic as the kind of fight they would have, and it was nice to see Jim compromised for something that was so important for Pam.

Well, this was some goooood lovin'. ;) You made it a very believable fight and I have the idea that they wouldn't necessarily know how to fight with each other since they both have a way of not expressing what they're really thinking. So I think their first fight will likely be a clumsy one, but they did make up for it so all is good. :)
