She knew then as she invited him in that the sun would rise before he would be stepping back over that threshold.  Awesome line. I think you had me at that - but I'm still very glad you continued anyway! Thanks for giving these crazy kids some fun. And us too!

Great food and free alcohol? That's a perfect wedding right there and then you go and add some yummy jammy goodness to the mix. You say "fluff for fluff's sake", I say just the kind of thing I need on a Friday afternoon. Very sweet and thanks for having her run out in the middle of dancing with Roy! You're the best!

This is just so Ryan and Kelly! What an accurate portrait of a completely dysfunctional relationship. I love how Ryan pretends he's the victim when he's actually making out pretty well in this deal - Xbox, constant flow of hot sex, free tickets to a Christina Aguilera concert... hee! Awesome.

Wow. Just wow. So well done, so them. One morning on the show, they'll both show up for work together and Jim's grin will be a little too wide and Pam will be blushing and their eyes won't meet but it'll be clear what transpired and then I'm going to imagine that this story is exactly what happened the night before. Thank you!

Lovely job threeholepunch! As you may have guessed, I'm a huge fan of poetry and I think this conveys so clearly Pam's feelings in a nutshell. I especially liked this stanza

“You’re really going to marry him.”
It wasn’t a curious inquiry.
He just knew; he was my best friend.

And of course, the last one as well. Great job!

"It's all about the suspense, right?" Clever! Like the suspense of wondering where they're going to after this awkward lunch is over so they can proceed to tear each other's clothes off and declare their undying love? Oh wait, that's not how this ends. No, really, this is much more realistic and painfully awkward and so in character that it hurts as much as 27 seconds of silence. Nice job!

Sweet. I like Pam making her move, tentative though it was. And I really like the Karen being gone part. Really!

He'd evaded, exaggerated, made light of, omitted, and hedged, but he hadn't lied until now. I love your explanation for all his behavior over the past months. Obviously, I'm not liking that Pam ends up with Roy but it was well told, realistic, and as you so nicely pointed out, not likely to come true! Nice one, lis.

Late to the party, I know, but I promise you, had I known you posted, I'd have run right out and read it before I took care of boring old real life this weekend! What can I say that hasn't already been said? They meet again in the parking lot of doom, have their stilted Jim/Pam conversation (perfectly done, my dear!), and "Invite me over".....GAH! Awesome. The metaphor of the scarf, the reality of the scarf, the physical properties of the scarf, it all works. And the brilliant whiteness of the snow wiping the slate clean for their new beginning. Just beautiful as always! You rock my world.

Egad! So sweet, so lovely, so....what happened to your fic writing strike? To come back with such a vengeance! 7000+ words! Romantic, getting them together permanently, ending Pam's indecision... all hitting perfect notes. Awesome! (I also wish I wrote this poem - it's just wonderful!)

She dips her head and sets the box aside. Her fingers weave together and she finds his gaze again. "Do you need me to say it?" How perfectly Pam. Still needing reassurance and a prompt after all this time! Lovely.
