i'm liking this, but you might want to edit the mention of "david denman".... that was just kind of jarring and awkward. not to mention that the real david denman is a totally sweet guy.

Great job on this whole story! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and I appreciate the review :)

Yay! I can't believe you sent them to Primanti's!!! Cole slaw and fries on your sammich! Is this the one in Oakland or the Strip?
And it's true. You can tell a non Pittsburgher a mile away in Stillers season.
I'm thoroughly enjoying ALL the chapters! Just had to respond to this one.
Author's Response: on the Strip :) It's been my birthday tradition to go there for as long as I can remember. The city has so many cool things, but if someone were visiting, I would definitely tell them to go there first. Haha, it is actually a little hard to explain what it can be like with the Steelers over here, but anyone from the area (or basically anywhere around it) understands! rnrnI'm glad you liked all the chapters. Thanks so much for your review :)

I know I should be commenting on each chapter- forgive me for being lazy. But this one is particularly skillful. The refrain of waiting, waiting, waiting...and then Jim, done with waiting...it's really beautiful. All of these have been fun. What a creative idea!
Author's Response: No problem about not reviewing, I'm just glad you have enjoyed them! I really appreciate what you said. I always kind of thought that waiting was a huge part of Jim's storyline-- somehow, I related it to waitressing, and thus the idea was born, haha. Thank you so much for reading!

As a huge Steelers fan, and a Pittsburgher myself, I absolutely loved this chapter. Hmmm. Primanti's. Cheesesteak is my favorite. What's funny is I just went to the zoo on Monday (since there was freakishly warm weather) saw the penguins, but no polar bears.
Great chapter, although I'm mildly biased. Oh Pittsburgh.
Author's Response: ahh I have many, many memories of Pittsburgh (I live in the area) and many of them involve Primanti's. I was really disappointed when I ate it at the stadium for a game and they were just not the same :( Plus, I love the zoo-- although the Cleveland one will always be the best. And I agree about the weather-- it was confusing and felt like April outside :PrnrnAnyways, thanks for reviewing! I am glad you liked it and I appreciate the nice feedback.rnrnGo Steelers!

Nice ending.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I was hoping it turned out alright :)

Really liked this installment. Sadie felt real. Makes me think fondly of Dairy Queen at the Jersey shore : )
Author's Response: Thanks, that was a really lovely compliment :) And nothing's really better than ice cream and the beach.
Date: January 10, 2008 06:22 am Title: Tiffany :: Chuck E. Cheese :: Feb. 2008
Great idea--very funny. I could envision it happening (but prefer to read about it) : )
Author's Response: Haha, I'm glad you liked it. The town I live in actually sees a lot of things like this happening, with rivaling birthday parties and whatnot, it's crazy! I was glad I could turn it into something funny, rather than kind of scary-- which is what it's like in real life. Thanks for the review :)

Just catching up with this. So sweet. On to the next one...

I did enjoy, very much. Big grin on my face and everything. You created a neat character in Naomi; it was great seeing them through her eyes. Really great work with this, I hope you keep posting here.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, brokenloon! I was really unsure about writing these at first, but I think it got easier along the way. I am hoping that a new idea will come up soon, because I have really enjoyed writing these! I really appreciate your feedback, it means so much!

I've really enjoyed reading this. You do a great job establishing the characters with just a little snippet.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Andys_Gal! I really appreciate the review and I am glad you have enjoyed reading it. I kind of liked the idea of just giving a little insight through another person's eyes, someone you probably wouldn't expect :)

I'm enjoying thse. It's a clever idea and your Jim characterization seems just right. Plus, you are cranking them out every hour. I know I'm anxious for the impressions of the waitress about a certain May 2007 date. You'll get there eventually, right?
Author's Response: Yes, yes! May 2007 is coming soon :) I'm just on a roll with this.. I'm on my first break from school in a long time and I'm just a tad bored haha. I'm glad you like them! Thanks for such a nice review.
Date: December 26, 2007 02:17 pm Title: Madeleine :: Emerald Diner :: Nov. 1998
This is such a different idea for a story, and I absolutely love it...I can't wait to read more.
(p.s. the David Denman reference was awesome)
Author's Response: thank you so much for the positive feedback!! haha, i was wondering if anyone would catch that. i didn't want to go right out and say Roy-- I have always imagined him as a bad tipper. Of course, except for when Pam was around :) I'm glad you like it so far.
Date: December 26, 2007 11:41 am Title: Madeleine :: Emerald Diner :: Nov. 1998
I love the name Holly and the fact that Jim made a "face" at the waitress. Cute!
Author's Response: thanks so much! i'm glad you like it so far and i hope you stay tuned! yay for Jim faces! :)
Date: December 26, 2007 09:25 am Title: Madeleine :: Emerald Diner :: Nov. 1998
Aw, cute! I love the idea of learning about Jim through people who don't know him. I also liked your characterization of the waitress.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your feedback! I'm glad you liked it so far :) The first waitress is kinda like me, and most of the things in here have actually happened, I just tried to make them more Jim-like haha. I hope you stay tuned :D
Date: December 26, 2007 08:26 am Title: Karen:: Mocha Marlie's :: June 2002
I'm really enjoying the little voyeuristic look at Jim's life, especially with the changing lens of the different waitresses. Keep it up!
Author's Response: Aw, thanks! I'm glad you like it :) By the way, I'm a huge fan of all your stories !! Jim has some pretty important meals coming up, lol I hope you keep reading :D
Date: December 25, 2007 09:05 pm Title: Madeleine :: Emerald Diner :: Nov. 1998
This was really cool! And refreshing! Madeleine reminded me of me. I would so drop my pen at a cute guys feet, and then be embarrassed. But also knowing me, I would probably drop is drink in his lap, too. I can't wait to read the rest.
Author's Response: Thank you!! I definitely based the first one off of myself-- I actually had a part with spilling a drink in there, but I took it out haha. I'm glad you like it so far -- I'm having a lot of fun writing it :)
