Bio:

The name is Laurie. I'm 21 years old, a college student, and I'm from Indiana, USA. I'm a self-proclaimed geek, with my obsessions including (but not limited to) Star Wars, The Office, LotR, hockey, musicals, Harry Potter, John Mayer, Howie Day, and movies in general.

My dream job would be something film related.  Someday I'll be a big, famous film director/producer/editor with a posse and a limo and a big, big house with a bazillion cats in the Beverly Hills area. Well... maybe not in Beverly Hills... perhaps in England somewhere? Or I could do what Johnny Depp did and move to France... yeah, I think that's what I'll do... I'll move right next to him, with ten feet separating our respective mansions, and then, when he's feeling lonely (for whatever reason), I'll just have to.. *ahem* cheer him up a bit. *nudge, nudge, wink wink* But if that doesn't work out like I plan, I'll move to New York City and marry John Krasinski. But, alas, if he's taken by that time, I'll settle for a little John Mayer lurvin'.  I tend to fall for guys with the first name of "John."  But he's dating Jessica Simpson now (apparently), so... it looks like I'm doomed.  Oh well.  There's always plenty of hockey players around.  I'm sure I can nab one of them.  :)

I've been a beta reader over at Checkmated (http://www.checkmated.com) for quite awhile (at least 3 years).  I'm a grammar/punctuation Nazi, so feel free to e-mail me sometime if you need a beta reader!

P.S.  I'm known as "WhatAboutBreakfast" on fanfiction.net.  I tend to leave long reviews.  LOL

Kevin is a riot!  Brilliant job on the ending!  Very appropriate, and I can just imagine Kevin's face.

This was hot, hot, HOT!  And I'm reading this at work, which is a little awkward.  LOL  Thanks for sharing this!  And, sorry, no thanks for making me drool over Jim while I'm at work.  ;)  LOL

Your stories never cease to amaze me!  :)  My favorite part:

She seems to notice the room now. "Do you need beer?"
He shakes his head.
She raises the box. "Spoons? I have some."
He smiles. "No."

LOL  It made me giggle.  :)  Thanks for sharing this.  Keep up the brilliant work!

I loved the songs you chose for the mix CD!  Very appropriate for Jim and Pam.  I loved the fact that you integrated each of the songs' lyrics into the story.  I'm a sucker for good lyrics, and each little bit that you used was a nice addition.  As much as I don't particularly like Karen, I still kinda feel bad for her being dumped on V-Day.  Ouch!  LOL  The story was definitely full of fluff, but hey, it was fun to read!  :)  Nice job!

Loved this!  Like you, I've always been intrigued by the Phyllis/Jim interaction.  I think Phyllis is one of the best characters on the show, and you've really captured her in this.  My favorite part:

I know she hurt you, but you're hurting her more.

That was so perfect.  Brilliant job on this!  Thanks for sharing!

And that, my friends, is how Jim and Pam should've gotten together over this past week!  LOL  I seriously loved every moment of this.  Your characterization was spot-on.  There were so many moments where I could actually hear Jim or Pam speaking the dialogue, so fantastic job with that!  I love it when authors grasp the characters so well that it's like you can actually hear Jenna Fischer or John Krasinski's voices speaking the lines.  The part about "new start, new day" was a brilliant way to summarize the entire story.  For some reason, I'm absolutely enamored by the idea of Jim and Pam "moving together in the darkness of her living room."  That just gave me goosebumps with the imagery of such a scene.  How romantic.  And dancing in the dark just makes it all the more romantic.  Lovely, lovely, lovely!

So now that this review is a 3 miles long, I'll just wrap it by telling you again how wonderful this story was.  After watching "Phyllis' Wedding," I needed an uplifting story.  :)  Thank you for sharing this!

Author's Response: Aw, thanks threeholepunch! Glad you thought this worked. Dialogue can be difficult when most of the Jim/Pam conversations on the show right now are unspoken. But sometimes not speaking can be lovely too!

First of all:  how amazing is John Mayer?  Seriously, if me and John Krasinski don't work out, I'm gonna have to call up John Mayer and see if he's interested.  ;)  Oh, and "Continuum" is by far Mayer's best album yet.  I bought it the day it came out and I haven't stopped listening to it since.  It's particularly good when you're writing, and this just proves it!  LOL

I've always thought this song had echoes of Jim and Pam, and this story was so awesomely accurate of Jim's feelings when he woke up alone.  The line "Wondering, was she really here?" made me tear up a bit, and then Jim crying... wow, poor Jim.  The ending was lovely, by the way.  "waking up is the best part"  Aww!  Loved it!  Great job!  Thanks for sharing this!

What a fantastic story!  I was totally in the mood for a Valentine's Day story revolving around Jim and Pam, and this completely fit the bill.  :)  I almost felt bad for Karen, but with all this JAM fluff, I'm a little too distracted to truly feel bad for her.  LOL  Is that bad?  I think so.

Favorite part:  Jim was wearing jeans as well, with a white oxford shirt he'd left untucked. It was open at the collar and he's rolled the sleeves up. She noticed immediately that his feet were bare.  If that is not the single most sexiest image of Jim/JKras, than I don't know what is!  LOL  And the fact that he has such a good taste in movies makes him even sexier!

Seriously, brilliant job with this!  If you ever get bored, you could write a smutty outtake to this and I'm sure us JAM fans wouldn't complain... just a thought.  :) LOL  Lovely job, Moxie!  Keep up the wonderful work!

First of all, Snow Patrol is easily one of the best bands to listen to when writing.  And I'm glad to know that I'm not alone when I saw that their music inspires me to write!  :)

I felt so bad for Pam at her art show, so reading this was a nice way to get into her mind and see how she felt about it all.  When Pam started drinking the wine and composing those e-mails, it made your story progress further and get better & better after each e-mail.

Favorite part:  (other than those weird metal springy things that stick out of the wall - you know, those contraptions that supposedly keep doors from closing all the way - and I decided that they're creepy. Did I tell you that I had a puppy once who pawed at one of those things? He did, and when it made that weird sound - if you were here, I'd totally do it for you - it freaked him out, and he peed all over the floor.)  I can't even begin to tell you how hard I laughed at this!  I wasn't expecting it at all, and then just imagining Pam writing this in a semi-drunken state me laugh harder.  LOL

Anyway, the point of this rather long review is that I loved your story.  This is definitely one of the best Pam-centered fics I've ever read-- in-character, appropriate, and believable.  Thanks for sharing this!  Lovely job!

This was lovely, 69CoN!  I mean, besides the fact that it was smut, it was still a nice glimpse into Pam's thoughts.  The part that particularly grasped me was:  She goes from swearing off watching to swearing off waiting to swearing off wishing, and the process is a series of difficult moments that she would never take back, even if she had the chance. She finally learns what it means when they say it's a slow burn. I just loved the flow of that paragraph, the almost poetic-ness (new word?? go me!), and the way it seemed to summarize Pam this season.

Oh, and the smut was quite nice, too.  :)  The phrase "his chest" got me all sorts of hot and bothered, and I'm not really sure why.  LOL  Fantastic job!  I love your writing style.

The Ryan/Kelly bit?  Loved it!  Had me laughing hysterically, because Kelly's dialogue was seriously spot-on.  And Ryan's inner thoughts were freaking brilliant.  Poor guy, being banished to Kelly's cubicle!

My favorite part was Pam admitting that she'd painted that over the summer, then Jim saying "I wasn't here this summer," with Pam replying "I know.  I just missed seeing it everyday so I put it in the painting."  Nice touch!  I love the idea.  :)

Thanks for sharing!  I loved it!

A sweet and funny ending!  I loved seeing the progression through Jim and Pam's relationship.  I think the wedding blurb was my favorite, mostly because they invited Roy and Karen, and neither approved.  LOL  That just sounds so appropriate for Jim and Pam, seeing as there's always some sort of lack of communication between them, and the whole inviting-the-exes was a perfect way to stick true to the characters.  :)

Thanks for sharing!  Nice job!

I've never been much of a Karen fan, and your story is just making me hate her all the more.  LOL  Seriously, though, you've really done an excellent job on this.  I love how you write Jim particularly, especially in this part:
“Right,” he said. Are you sure you’re okay? he wanted to say. Do you want me to come over? he wanted to say. Call me if you need anything, he wanted to say. Instead he said, “Well, I’ll see you on Monday then. Have a good weekend.”
That paragraph really got to me; the repetition was brilliant.  Throughout season 3, Jim has sort of been dancing around what he truly wants to say to Pam, and you really captured that in that paragraph, with him always wanting to say something, but instead he says something else.  That's so perfect.  Great job!  But anyway, I'm dying to read more!  I'll keep an eye out for another chapter and until then, keep up the amazing work!  :)

P.S.  Be honest now:  just how excited are you for Harry Potter book 7?!  :)

I'm a huge fan of this story but I've only now gotten around to reviewing.  I'm a slacker, and I know this.  :)  Anyway, I seriously love the idea of Jim spying on Pam behind the identity of Squirrel McPants (which, by the way, is a hilarious pseudonym!).  This story is so much fun to read because of how well you've nailed the characters' voices and actions.  It doesn't hurt that you have a lovely way with words, either.  ;)  Keep up the great work, moxie!  I'm eagerly awaiting another chapter!

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest:  that has to be the best smut I've ever read in my entire life.  It was sexy as hell and so completely in-character.  The idea of Jim waking up and realizing he'd wrapped his arms around her was fantastic, because it just sounds like something he would do.  I love the fact that no words were spoken between them as she was tracing his bruises.  That was so incredibly erotic and so beautifully written.  I loved Jim here:  "Say my name."  That's so perfect.  Wait, no, actually this entire story was perfect.  You have a lovely writing style and a wonderful way with words.  Brilliant job!

Seriously, thank you for sharing this.  I loved it.

Author's Response: Wow. I so appreciate your saying that, threeholepunch.  And, thanks for picking up on the idea of them waking up like that...an important detail for me, cause I thought it indicated that for all his resolve, when his defenses were down - he just loved her. For all the complications, that simple. And on some not entirely conscious level, it spurred Pam to will herself to brave enough to do what she does. Thank you so much for this incredible review.

Favorite Mayer songs: "Comfortable," "Love Song For No One," "Why Georgia," "Good Love Is On The Way," "Love Soon".... okay, wait, there's just too many!  LOL  I love everything off of "Continuum," and honestly can't say I have a favorite.  John Mayer's amazing!

Anyway, to get on to the point of this review, I have to say that I really enjoyed this.  Using those lyrics was a great idea.  I love the reason that Pam was crying.  You did a wonderful job writing from Jim's perspective, especially at this part:  "He fell in love every time her saw her or felt her near. It was like he forgot when she wasn’t around but once she would return, he couldn’t resist falling head over heels every time."  That part was written so simply (in a very good way!), and it sounds so appropriate for him.  Brilliant job!

I look forward to more of these.  Very creative and a fantastic use of Mayer lyrics!  :)  Keep up the beautiful work!

Song suggestions for another chapter:  "Home Life" has always reminded me a bit of Jim, so I think it would be a fascinating look into Jim's mind.  "Not Myself" would be a very interesting glimpse into Pam's thoughts about starting the relationship with Jim.  No matter what songs you choose, I have faith that it will turn out well!  :)  I'm excited to see more of these from you!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your wonderful comment and your ideas! I'm happy you enjoyed this so much...and also, that line "He fell in love...." was something I had a hard time putting into words...but it just happened that there it was....thanks for pointing that out!

Great ideas....I'll be sure to look into them and see what I can muster up! Thanks!
