I just read all this at one sitting (I'm new) and I am really enjoying this story. I could see this as a real scenario for Jim and Pam.

I especially loved this - think it was in chapter 2:

Jim smiled. “Yeah, you did.” He kissed her. “What would I do without you?”

“Pine over me for three years and tell me you love me?” she answered.

Jim snorted with laughter. “Oh, Beesly.”

I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Very good writing, I always wondered what might have happened if the yogurt lid hadn't done the trick.
Karen never seemed like the type that would force wedding plans, but then, maybe we didn't really know her. *grin*

I'm very interested to see what happens, especially since Pam seems to have moved on much better than Jim.

Thanks, jazzfan.  Yeah, maybe Karen wouldn't force wedding plans.  She always did strike me as someone who gets what she wants, though.  In any case, she is now conveniently GONE.

Oh my, this was the best chapter yet. I think you're writing the grief reactions incredibly well. The title fits.

Those three words are so inspirational, jazzfan, and I'm so glad you think the title fits!  Bringing Jim out of his grief and reacquainting him with the world was a challenge, but I'm pleased you think it works.  I loved the last line of the second Neruda to indicate that he's ready:  Let's bring the wood and make fire on the mountain.  Thanks, Pablo!

Very sweet. For some reason I could really see Jim saying this line with the stutter:
"I don't know. Never been p-pregnant myself." He stumbled over the word, his eyes glittering with a mix of amusement and utter amazement.
Also liked the ending - not a day to mess with the Beesly.
