Oh this is wonderful! Every detail so perfectly captured-- the description of Dwight's stubble as what they had to put down that one dog for, He folded the napkins into swans, then dragons, then chimerae...His eyeballs were pink and shiny, like that time Buffy dove into the Hellmouth. "Pass the beetabagas."

I just could not stop laughing. And of course Mose has a mouse for a pet. Hilarious! Thanks so much for this glimpse of Chez Schrute.

Awwwwwwwwww, Jim. So sweet. Such a cute reminder of big, gangly Jim in those little (not traditional size!) beds with the homemade mattresses. And I loved the idea of Jim thinking ahead to kids and his future with Pam. So, sweet. Thanks for this!

He shakes his head at her and leans in, mouth to her ear, "Come for me, Pam."

Jim considered that maybe he needed to get Michael a stuffed lion for times when he was difficult.

You know, that might actually work with Michael. 

In a few minutes the two of them were asleep on the couch.

Aww. As a wife and mother, I can attest that that is one of the sweetest sights in the world. 

I love the way you handled this whole story, BL. Sweet without being cloying, and Pam finding her art again at the end. You've been away too long. Welcome back!

I think my favorite line was when Pam swiped her hand across the fogged mirror and said "I want to fuck up". That's exactly the kind of reasoning she'd go through, I think--too passive to actively break up with Roy, but aggressive/brave enough to create a situation where it would happen. So complex, and yet so simple. Well done again.

Ah, so lovely. Nice to see someone else as obssessed with shagging  shaggy Jim as I am. :) I loved all these little, er, snippets, especially the ones mentioning basketball. I liked your line about how when Pam runs her hands through his hair he forgets everything else. And well he should. :)

It became something of a tradition; when things got to her she would tell him she need to see a bad movie, and that became his cue to coddle her a bit, find a place where the two of them could be away from the rest of the world, preferably with something to mock. And on those nights, and those nights only, he called her, “baby.”

Oh, that is just so ADORABLE without being what the Brits call twee! I love it. Normally Jim/Pam cuddling doesn't work for me, but as therapy for a bad day, especially if it involves bad movies, it's perfect. 

Since you ask for what worked and what didn't, I will say that I wasn't sure the September conversations worked as well for me. I am not sure Jim and Pam would be that articulate with one another involving such deep and painful emotions. But then you balance it perfectly with the humor (finger paint? Hahaha!) and

What a wonderful moment. And how well Pam understands it:

She knows he will kiss her, knows that she can't let it happen, but still she stands there, meeting his eyes. It can't happen, this is Jim, what is he waiting for?
