Ideas for Cold Openings (the pre-title gags) always pop into my head. So these will be just a bunch of teasers that, hopefully, you will find funny. I don't know how many I will post but I'll keep putting them up as they occur to me.
I can't even believe that the show hasn't done New Business Cards Day yet. It is exactly something I'd expect to see in a cold open. Nice!

You know, for a while I would give Magic 8 Balls as wedding presents and then write something like, "Will they live happily ever after? All signs point to yes." in the attached card. This was such a fun story! I was totally confused by them already having a 7 year old, no wait it's 2009, oh right, it was Sasha. Nice.
I really liked this piece. It brought a lot of closure to the Jim and Karen relationship that we haven't gotten in the show. Two lines in particular jumped out at me as very telling: "her face twisted with that sleepy confusion that he used to find adorable." and "lately these questions came with a hint of tiredness…a hint of disinterest and impatience."
Thanks! I just really felt like Jim and Karen had this kind of lazy forced feeling between them toward the end of S3 and I wanted to reflect that in the way that Karen dealt with this situation that Jim was in where he couldn't sleep, which is actually something really kind of traumatizing. I thought what if it's not that she gets angry, but more that she seriously is indifferent toward him? And this is what came out. Rambling reply, I apologize. The point is thanks!!! Delving into the world of the other chatters wasn't confusing at all. In fact, I really enjoyed this technique. It gave a fullness to the story and to the task. The parallels to Leikha life and Jim's were really illustrative. I think you're on to something here!
HA! I love the Pam/Michael relationship. And the fact that Jim would actually take Dwight's cock-eyed advice is spot on.

That was wonderful. Really fleshes out Kelly in an unexpected and lovely way. I like the idea that she had regressed so much during her relationship with Ryan. The college romance was heartbreaking, too.
Have you seen "Knocked Up"? Darryl has a short but really great role in it.
My (second?) contribution to the Money post-ep business. Jim and Pam have dinner and something's a little off.
I really like how you dealt with the emotional parallels between Jim and Dwight. I thought that was a powerful moment in the show and I'm glad that you expanded on it.
